Good local fish and chips shops are hard to come by this place I've been coming for years and it definitely delivers consistently quality food. Customer service they always friendly and welcoming but it's the food that packs full of punch. Open till late it's served us well for feeding the family sometimes when things get busy. The butterfish battered is so nice!
I am so surprised this joint does not have more reviews! Been coming here on & off for years because it is a bit out of my way but i sometimes crave their burger with the lot or tender chicken shaslick so much that i will make a special trip! The salads are super fresh & tasty! The place is exceptionally clean & the service is brilliant, friendly & fast. Most of the time it is packed to the rafters at dinner time, so a phone order is probably advisable if you don't want to wait the normal fish & chip shop wait. An absolute gem which has won a few awards over the years.

Couple weeks ago got their Hawaiian pack and loved it,nice pieces of fresh butterfish and their chips were crunchy an not oily,the pineapple fritter brought me back to my childhood as that's the last time I remember having one,will definitely have to have again
I have seen this outlet for many years but never tried it. I had heard some very good reports so thought we would test them out. Now, if you like great tasting food head down here. I ordered a burger with the lit and it was delicious. A good old fashioned burger! Not sloppy or soggy but very tasty. The chips were excellent too. Others in our group had the calamari pack (calamari was nice and tender, salad fresh and tasty), steak sandwich was laden with tender meat. Overall a great old fashioned fish and chip shop that I will now make my go to fish n chip shop in the west
Ordered lamb yiros and mixed seafood. Food were really tasty and fresh. Servings were generous and staff were really friendly. Highly recommended and will definitely order again.

Crumbed butter Fish a good size , hotdogs , hamburgers , Steak burgers , fried Mars bars and they don't scab out on the chips.
Been going there for years and never had a bad feed. They certainly know there stuff. Well worth visiting and the money.

Ordered an AB and pineapple fritter at 6pm on a Tuesday. The place was very busy but order was done within 25 minutes. The food was delicious, everything in it was good quality, juicy lamb and very good crispy chips (I am very fussy with my chips). It was just big enough for me and my husband to share between us without waste. The pineapple fritter was amazing. It was like eating a pineapple cinimon donut, and for only $2! I was very impressed with the quality, service and friendly staff (despite being under the pump). Will definitely be back for the same and looking forward to trying more.
It’s been ages since I’ve eaten fish n chips but I had a real craving for butterfish and potato fritter. I ordered and paid online but when I arrived in the shop they let me know there was a problem with the system and they hadn’t received it, so could I wait a few minutes to get my order done straight away. Sure!
It was worth the short delay. The fish was battered and cooked absolutely perfectly.... crisp, hot tasty fish. Batter that perfect golden colour, not too heavy, just right! I was given a couple of extras for my trouble including a scattering of chips which were also cut and cooked perfectly. 5 stars and I see they have a great range of take away food, so I’ll be very tempted to come back when I’m in the mood for anything hot & fresh on the go. Oh, I didn’t eat the salads but they looked great too!
Very popular at the time I visited. They grilled fish no flour. Everything was tasty. They take phone orders, so that is definitely a good option.
First time getting fish and chips in a while and found Halla's staff were very friendly and happy to serve us even though we got there 10 minutes before close time. Our food was quick and freshly made in front of us. The fish and chips were delicious (we got the Hawaiian pack which was very well priced at $22) and a great accompaniment to our beach picnic. We will definitely be back!
