Review Young Bloods Diner - Fitzroy

I had the special of the pasta, was not disappointed! The stuffed zucchini flowers were also a hit, coffee was on point. Could not fault this place, was a wonderful place to stumble across. Great service, unique and well done interior, would reccommend!

Cool little place right next to a local market that seema to have quite the crowd at all times. Food was great and coffee was excellent. Biggest reason we picked this place was because they big enough tables to host larger partys (there was 7 of us). I also love the fact that more than half of the option are vegetarian by default and a good selection of vegan options aswell. If you want meat, you can always add it to your dish! Affordable and really friendly staff.

Simple but fresh ingredient from the brunch, delicious food and great coffee! Love the ambience and the interior decor, comfy and cozy place the having a quality time with friends and family.

Friendly cafe restaurant at entrance of Rose St Artists Market. Food hit and miss but great drinks.
Robert Charlton
Always a great standard in all seasons. The food is fresh, excellent combinations.

While there are lots of really cool cafes in the area, this one is definitely worth a try. Really delicious coffee. My usually at cafes has become poached eggs and avocado on sourdough. They did a great job. 🍳🥑😋 The cafe is also right next to a cute little market. I didn’t have a chance to look today but will definitely be going back again.

very good coffee based on a long mac and a flat white. lovely service, great with the kids. fries were excellent. the baked beans in kasundi sauce is worth coming back for. the food is good but laid back, in tune with the service. A really good experience.

Since arriving in Australia, I have met many people, but Adam and Chris is the coolest I've ever known. Also the excellent food and the good atmosphere of the place, they make it perfect to go with your family, enjoy with friends or go alone.

Second time I have been here and it doesn't disappoint. The coffee is superb, beer plentiful and food? OMG. Amazing. Will definately be back on my next visit and highly recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat and drink.

We had our wedding reception at young bloods Saturday 28th of May and it was more then we could have hoped. The staff we amazing - attentive, helpful and super friendly! The food was so good and there was heaps. The location was perfect. They tailored the night to suit us and I could not recommend these guys more highly. Thank you for making our day as much fun as we had imagined!!!

This venue has a beautiful location next to the market with a fun and funky fitout, unfortunately the food didn’t match the ambiance! The salad was quite small and bland, the smoothie didn’t have any hint of peanut butter or banana (and was very icy), our drinks were forgotten the first time round and they didn’t know how to apply the Zomato Gold “2 for 2”. Such great potential, but not quite there for me, maybe dinner there is where the real magic happens!

Pictured is the Breakfast Summer Salad (grilled zucchini, capsicum, eggplants, fennel, almonds (not these were definitely pecans 🤔) and poached egg) & Smoothie (peanut butter, chocolate, banana and date).

Dropped by this cafe after my morning gym sesh as it was just down the road. Used EatClub & received 40% the total bill.

Ordered:
1. Veggie Lasagne ($17)
2. Mocha ($4) ☕️

The veggie lasagne was recommended by the waiter as one of their popular savoury dishes. Pretty decent portion size, couldn't finish it & had to takeaway my leftovers. Taste was alright, wouldn't say its the best but not too bad.

The menu is pretty limited, but it seems like what they do they do very well! Service was wonderful, and an issue of a forgotten item was fixed with a smile super quickly. Only downside was rubbery haloumi, but if I hadn't ordered that it would have been a perfect meal.
Daniel Wirjoprawiro
Great brunch spot in Fitzroy! Great selection in the menu and a very cozy environment. Big brekky and chilli scrambled eggs are 😋 And right next to the Artist and Mills Markets!!
Linda
Oh dear. The coffee was not good at all. Should have saved it for an industry bean coffee around the corner. The brunch was very average. Slightly bland, nothing special, not particularly cooked well. Quite disappointing.
Quince And Cheese
I never knew this cafe was hidden behind the Rose Street artist market til today. Staff made me feel very comfortable and well looked after, which is not something I often feel at inner north venues of a certain calibre (i.e. trendy). My waiter was happy to swap the prosciutto on my dish for mushrooms at no additional charge, whereas many other cafes make you pay for swaps - Especially on weekends. While I think the mushy peas would have been nicer served warm, they were delicious either way. The addition of buffalo mozzarella was the icing on this very healthy cake. My coffee was also amazing. I'd say the best I've had in a while. It was strong, the milk was perfect and it was served hot without making the soymilk curdle, which is quite the feat. There's also wifi, so this is a good spot to work at non-peak times.

**3.5 stars** We visited this cafe whilst checking out the bustling Fitzroy market. I liked the feel of this cafe. It’s interior decor including the hanging plants, mosaic paintings and bookshelves added character and warmth to the atmosphere. The staff were friendly here, the service was prompt and the coffee was great. However, we found that the two dishes we ordered were average...(Smashed avocado and chia bowl)

When your breakfasts take slightly longer to arrive than you might expect on a mid-morning when things appear not so busy, it's a good sign that they're being cooked with care. And so it proved. My full breakfast was of the highest order, my partner couldn't stop enthusing over the portobello mushrooms and feta. The coffee too was excellent.
Repeat business to follow.
If next time the staff could perhaps ask for feedback rather than simply advising coldly of the cost, it'll be an even better experience.

A jug of Pimms is surprisingly hard to find. What else would someone want to drink on a hot day? Thankfully you can get a good (slightly small) jug here on a rooftop with a through breeze.
Sassyfoodqueen
Had a really pleasant experience here! The atmosphere is really nice, they have a beautiful outside area and also inside is nice to. The staff were friendly and the food was really delicious! I got the poke bowl with smoked salmon and it was soooo good! Couldn’t fault it and I’m so happy they put the sauce on the side because I hate when they put it on top! It doesn’t allow you to put as much or as little as you’d like, so I really appreciate the thought that went into the presentation of the dish as well and the amount of each ingredient! It was the perfect summer meal! I’ll definitely be back !
Jess
Lovely menu, the usual suspects and then some. Consistently delish coffee. Great atmosphere, the plants are very lovely to sit around and always friendly staff. I saw a large group that had booked say to the manager they just needed to add another 2 people, and while it was obviously gunna be a pain in the butt to facilitate on a busy Saturday morning and tables needed to be moved, they just took it in their stride . Its got a particularly lovely vibe on market day.
Good Food Good Mood
Yes I like to order three dishes between two. Yes I like variety. Yes I want a savoury and a sweet option. The fruit salad was prettily presented, everyone's throwing flowers on breakfast these days (thanks Top Paddock) but it's what inside that counts and my stomach didn't much care for it. My eyes, however, were dying over the interiors. Dying. Suspended greenery and bright modern colours- I could actually have just sat there all day basking in the fit out. Luckily it was a metre from the Rose St markets so I eventually left the table for someone else to enjoy the decor. It's an ideal spot for brunch before hitting up the markets, I adored my tomato and basil toast with two perfect poachies. Wouldn't mind going back to check our the rooftop bar for some drinks. I'm sure upstairs is just as divinely decked up as the bottom floor
Steph
Wanted to try somewhere new on Saturday morning for brunch and this has turned into a new favourite! Was a beautiful day so we sat outside in the courtyard & watched the happenings of the Rose St Markets next door. Food was fast & fresh & the coffee was one of the best i have had in Melbourne. Staff were so so friendly and so helpful in recommendations! Definitely returning to try the rooftop area.
Kate Dougherty
Definitely a new favourite cafe. Had brunch here for the first time this morning and loved it. Not only could we make a booking but the food was fabulous. I had the chilli scrambled eggs with spring onion and chorizo on multigrain. So delicious and had an incredibly generous amount of chorizo. Can't wait to return asap!

Only a minute or so walk from Brunswick street lies a groovy cafe with stunning decor, beautiful atmosphere and even better coffee to match. The staff here are ALWAYS lovely, helpful and friendly. I enjoy popping into Young Bloods every time I visit Rose St Markets.
Mellie
Went here for breaky and ordered the YB breakfast and the potato hash. Attentive staff and a lovely space. Good coffee and no extra charge for non-dairy milks.
The food was okay. The mushrooms on the YB breakfast were overcooked and lacked flavour. Pork belly with the hash was fried to heat it up, so became a little dry. Both meals lacked seasoning.
Moon Boots
Young Bloods is a total winner. Great atmosphere and beautiful greenery hanging throughout. Great selection of tasty and generous meals. The roasted mushrooms are delicious. Dining room, courtyard and mezzanine are all lovely and staff very friendly and helpful.
Perfect location right next to the Rose Street Market. Parking can be a little tight on weekends.

Young Bloods Diner is a hidden gem located off Brunswick street Fitzroy that serves unbelievably amazing food in a trendy unique environment perfect for a quick study break feed or catch up with loved ones.
The venue itself is small yet its interior is spectacular due to the modern wall hangings, array of pot plants, high rise roof and assortment of large and small tables crafting a spacious environment of pure relaxation and comfort. The addition of an upstairs rooftop that houses a bar further adds a modern twist to this already exiting venue.

Upon entering Young Bloods for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon the place was relatively quite and we where seated on a larger table in front of the window by a lovely waitress who presented us with menus. After analysing the beautiful and unique assortment of dishes on offer it was quite hard to decide what to order. When the waitress arrived to take orders we order our beverages of choice to start being a long mac, soy latte and cold pressed valence orange juice along with a small tasting of one of there array of sweet treats present at the front counter ordering a peanut butter tahini biscuits to get our tastebuds going.

The drinks arrived promptly with the long mac being brewed to utter perfection as it delivered dark, acidic fruity aromas and came to the table steaming hot just as a long mac should be. The soy latte too was impeccable with the perfect froth ratio. The peanut butter and tahini biscuit was certainly worthy of its order as it was moist and buttery with the perfect balance of salty to sweet textures.

After much chatter taking in the amazing atmosphere this cafe the more than helpful waitress placed our orders of being the Young Bloods Porridge along with the Young Bloods Breakfast that was altered to be vegetarian.

Our meals arrived looking like masterpieces, presented with love and care and precise detail. The Young Bloods Breakfast consisting of poached eggs on sourdough toast with mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado and the addition of feta instead of bacon and pork fennel sausage was a very generous serving leaving one bursting at the belt. The avocado was presented in its true natural half form. The eggs where cooked well with the yolk oozing out with the slightest prick of the fork. The assortment of herbed button mushrooms and vine ripened tomatoes paired well with the strong goats feta overall creating for a fresh delicious well seasoned meal truly showing off the use of fresh organic local produce.

The Porridge arrived looking as pretty as a picture covered in beautiful flowers with steam arriving from the creamy dense oats. The porridge consisted of roasted rhubarb with pistachios, sunflower seeds and lemon balm and was absolution tremendous. The addition of the nuts added crunch and the lemon balm was a surprising burst of earthy flavour upon ones palate ensuring the dish was not to sweet. The oats where cooked well as they remained there chew and thickness and the rhubarb added a touch of bitterness to the dish yet again making for a very filling and more than satisfying meal.

I cannot recommend Young Bloods Diner more and informed the waitress that we would be back next week to sample more of there mouthwatering dishes. Young Blood certainly knows how to deliver a dining experience like no other delivering high class food and coffee at a great price in a beautiful environment housed by truly generous staff.

This place was an amazing find. Had initially picked this cafe to trick my husband into going to Rose st markets ('oh look honey there's a market next door...') but it turned out to be the perfect start to a weekend in Melbourne. Great ambience, great coffee, great location!

I went here with a friend who was paying for something in the market. When I was in there I saw a Turkish delight doughnut. It was small and the perfect size for a little treat. I bought it and ate it later in the car. It was delicious and it made me want to go back there and try other things one day. My only complaint is it's a bit doughy. The guy who served is was really nice

Highly recommend this little place off Brunswick Street!! The big breakfast was great and linguine carbonara was a 10 out of 10!! What topped off my meal was the fresh tasting coffee!!
Glorious Food Melbs
Savoury & sweet canapés were on the menu today. Three choices to start with that were all stuffed with or covered in cheese. I love cheese, like so much......but even I was looking for a dish in between, that would break the heaviness of all the cheese. These were followed by figs, which were unfortunately mostly left behind. I think if the figs were accompanied by another element to complement them, they would have been eaten. I enjoyed the tomato and bread dish as well as the the sandwiches. It was a little unfortunate that we had expected to order drinks from the cocktail menu viewed online, that didn't exist when I enquired. There was no cocktail menu. To finish we had a selection of desserts that were pleasant for the most part, I just wish we had been told what we were eating....It was put in front of us and nothing was said. The deserts were not obviously anything we could identify other than chocolate.

So happy I found this place next to the Rose Street Market. The menu here is amazing. If you want a hearty hangover cure - there is a delicious crispy pork belly and hash. If you are after something sweet, there is the mandarin hot cakes or the coconut chia pudding (takes great and looks spectacular). There are also options on the lunch side, such as the pasta, which was perfectly al dente. A+
Benedict Nathaniel
The space is pretty much airy and bright, making the atmosphere super cozy. On Sundays there's an artists' market just beside the café, so many crafts and other dope things! I find the cold drip alright, but the pork belly & potato hash is a total BAM! The crunch from the pork belly mixes well with the crispy yet soft-on-the-inside potato rosti. Add a dab of the anchovy cream sauce and of course, the yolk from the poached egg. Absolutely yummy and filling.
Brunch On
Great place for casual cafe dining! Staff are really great, with the right balance of attention and the food is amazing. When I visited a while back, he burger on the menu was amazing. A lovely little venue right next to the rose street market!

On a lazy Sunday myself and 4 friends visited the Rose St. Artist Market and stopped for lunch after browsing.

I have to say, the poached eggs on toast with the sautéed greens and fried mushrooms were absolutely stunning. Topped off with a lovely apple and raspberry juice, it was a fantastic meal that ended the day on a good note.

The service was friendly, quick and efficient, and the prices reasonable for the quality of the meal and the portion sizes.

I would definitely recommend trying this establishment.

I love this place! Food is always great and the staff are attentive but also not overbearing. The bar up top is the best place to sit on a sunny day. Coffee is also pretty good. With so many pretentious, expansive places located near by, this place is always my go to. I'm not interested in foams, gels, what bike you ride or if you smoke your own meats at home on the weekends. I go to cafe for a good meal, coffee and service, this place has all of those!
Moshimoshi
Never again. I thought I’d give this place another chance and really wish I hadn’t. The food servings were tiny and overpriced. The staff clearly don’t like working there. Try Industry Beans around the corner, or Grace Cafe. Twenty metres away but worlds apart. Oh, and they seem to be closed a lot.
Rose
Excellent food, great coffee and very reasonably priced. Staff are warm and friendly and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Great spot, right next to the Rose St market.

Environment is good. Take a chili burger and my friend cannot finish. But my salmon is good ! A house with plants !
Colour is warm and comfortable
A great little spot conveniently located next door to the market. After perusing the menu, I couldn't go past the fried chicken burger. No regrets whatsoever. The chicken was perfectly succulent and juicy, encased in a wonderfully seasoned crispy batter. The paprika-coated chips on the side were a fantastic accompaniment, and went well with the aioli. Also, their house-blend chai tea is one of the best (from a self-considered chai connoisseur). Nice, clean set up, service was friendly enough, light-filled space, stylish decor. Would definitely stop by to/from a visit to the market again!
Aryo
Good place for breakfast - coffee and meals are awesome. Friendly staffs! It's also located right beside the Sunday Market so you have chance to browse and shop right after / prior your cuppa!
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
Young Bloods Diner is a modern and open space serving (an all-day) breakfast and brunch with a rooftop bar. They were still serving their spring menu when I visited so I was able to try their Roasted Cauliflower Salad with ocean trout and hazelnuts ($15). Fresh and light, with tender and well-seasoned cauliflower, nicely cooked trout and a creamy cauliflower puree, the salad was a joy to eat
Sestitoa
You HAVE to experience this diner!. Delicious meals, fantastically presented & exceptional service AND they happily accommodated adjustments to my menu selection to meet my fructose intolerance requirements. Thanks to the chef & all at Young Bloods Diner! 10/10!

Very Friendly. These guys do an awesome job even when it gets very very busy!!

Amazing food. Friendly service. I went with a group of girlfriend, we love the friendly atmosphere. The guy who served us was very informative as it's our first time dining here (we goes here regularly for the breakfast!). Fav dish would be the bone marrow! The rest of the menu is very creative and tasted amazing! Easily one of my new place to hang out!

Excellent food, wicked staff!. First time we have been here and we love it! Coffee is awesome - allpress coffee..
menu is really nice to the point we couldn't decide what to jave because everything looked tasty.. but settled for the slow cooked lamb ribs and organic yoghurt panna cotta.

Food was awesome! The dark haired girl with the scottish accent was great.. very attentive and knowledgeable.

We will definitely be back!

Great food.. awesome venue!. We came in on good friday.. had the crumpets and mushroom dishes. Both really good!! Great to find humble food and staff in the fitzroy backstreets. They have a market outside on the weekends too! Can't fault this place.. reading the other comments on here seems very odd as these guys nail it!

Thanks young bloods! We'll be back

GOOD FOOD - BAD SERVICE. Such a cool space, a promising menu, but the waitstaff are absolutely dreadful. Orders were wrong, attitude was shocking and then they argued with me about the order I'd made. To tip it off we finally got the attention of a waiter to order a second round of coffees and basically had to yell our order as he refused to walk over to the table.
Josh_3_g
Wheres my food.. Young Bloods was okay when I entered. Cool vibe, interesting decor. Then we were served last week and it was like the staff did not even want to be alive that day. They were so rushed, rude and completely somewhere else. We thought we would ignore this and keep on enjoying our time. Then our food did not come. We waited and waited. Still nothing. It finally came. Cold with a frowning staff member dumping it on our table. This is not a place I would recommend or come back too. We went and got some amazing ice creams on Brunswick road after and had such a better time there then we did at Young Bloods diner. Sorry. It was awful .
Aron
This is a real letdown compared to other places in Fitzroy. It's pretentious, average food and we had quite rude staff.

It's considerably different to the likes of Grace two doors down, The Standard on Fitzroy St or even Industrie Beans.

With so many good places to choose from in Fitzroy, I doubt I'll go back.
GoodFoodForLife
NoTimeToWaste. I've been meaning to visit Young Bloods since they reopened in 2013, but when I organised to meet friend there one Tuesday they were closed. Also tried on a public holiday Monday, again closed. Finally got there last week and found the menu to be basic, the food a bit greasy for my liking, and the service slow. Honestly, with all the other great cafes and eateries in Fitzroy, Young Bloods doesn't stand up to the competition.

A great restaurant in a Fitzroy Backstreet that is still relatively undiscovered so I would recommend that it's a great place to go and eat whilst still being able to enjoy a conversation.
Great staff take time to make you feel at home
Terry
Mr. Staff Party. Place dirty and unloved, upstairs bar filthy and bar very sticky. Staff had no idea as to what they were meant to do.
Food and wine list appalling and not at all what was promised or expected. Thought it would be a good place for a staff party but horribly mistaken. Will never return and would not recommend to anybody.

Awesome crumpets!. Great place with really friendly staff and a funky sun roof. Get the crumpets... You won't be disappointed!

Rich

Upstairs. There set lunches for under 20 are always unique in flavour and tasty. great spot to people watch, have a bloody Mary .
Jesspo
Friendly!. Friendly staff, even on their busiest days when the market is pumping. We had a lovely chat with the manager when ordering breakfast. Prices are really reasonable, and drinks/food menu has a great range. I love this place - and the decor, give me those yellow tiles!! Poached eggs were a tiny bit watery, but everything else makes up for it :)
Leemarvin
Best polenta chips. Had the fish n chip dish here twice and both times been very impressed and being gluten free as well!
Ange Scaffidi
Fantastic service, great atmosphere and the best breakfasts around. The Dean juice is healthy and delicious, and the brioche with mushrooms is amazing. We are happy regulars and we will keep coming back. These Fitzroy locals, the family behind the Rose St Artist Markets, never get it wrong...
Justine
Absolutely terrible. The juice isn't real juice it's like cordial, the eggs were undercooked and looked like they were poached in the microwave, the avocado was hard, the goats curd was like a cheese mousse with herbs and toast was burnt. We expected far better considering there are so many great cafés in this area- it's really not that hard to make a decent breakfast, they should consider going around the corner to industry beans and get some tips. Very disappointed!
Ben14stubbs
Deep friend bacon. Worst breakfast ever. Deep fried bacon, uncooked eggs and soggy toast.
Jen
Great location and space...BUT. We were on our way to Industry Beans around the corner, but thought we would try something new. Located beside the Rose Street Market, the place was busy for a Saturday morning. While the staff were friendly and the menu seemed to have some fresh concepts, we were really disappointed with the delivery. We ordered the reuben sandwich and the savory french toast. The combinations in both dishes just didn't work well and tasted poor. The sandwich was bland and boring. The french toast was soggy from the pulled pork. While they both looked appetising, they just didn't taste good. Service staff compensated with complementary custard and quinoa breakfast cups. Again, they looked great and appetising, but were too sweet and the flavours didn't work well together.
Kylie McLaughlin
Worst breakfast, even worse service. There are dozens of other cafés in fitzroy... Eat there!

Mothers Day. The set menu was awesome, satisfying and delightful. 10/10 on that. Sadly let down by front-of-house. From when we arrived, (and they couldn't find the booking) to a waitress we couldn't understand, to her wiping up a spill on the table with her finger (!!!) we were fairly puzzled. Why does a place with such great food, and very happening surroundings let itself down by poor service?

Guys you might have been busy, but a great place doesn't let the customer know that, and certainly doesn't complain to the customer about that! I hope you get it sorted because I would truly love to come back soon.
Carmel N Cinnide
Very bad service. I should have just turned and walked out when she said well you can have that table but you'll have to be off it by 1 pm. Then didn't tell me what table walked away and l had to guess what table to sit at. I had another waitress tell me it was booked for 1 pm that was at 12:30. Had a coffee it was 5/10 at best...... Won't be back
Steve Roberts
What can I say? I'm a fan!
I'm a regular at Young Bloods Diner and they have never disappointed. Before any ordering took place, the venue captured my eye. What the brothers (Adam and Christian Ferrante) have done with the original structure is outstanding - architecture not to be missed!
Their menu is unique, interesting and well priced for the quality of products.
Whether you're there for breakfast, brunch or a late arvo drink, these guys will serve you with a friendly smile and supply customer service that's hard to beat in the area! (That's saying a lot for a place near Brunswick street)
Jess
I'd have to say this is my new favourite place, especially on a Sunday! Great food, really good service, had a really nice feel to it! Had a wonder through the rose street market, love supporting local artists. Defiantly be back again!! :)
Pete L
Went on the weekend and sat on the rooftop. Buzzing atmosphere, really tasty steak sandwich, fizzy apple cider on tap and friendly service! Kudos...will be back.
Sarahh
Good.. But. We had very surly service from one waitress and great service from another. Food was fresh and lovely however quite disappointed when orderering particular bottle of champagne for $52 was bought another without being first consulted and then charged exactly the same price. The bottle costs $17 at the bottle shop. Of course a mark up is expected but it seems an extreme one. On questioning the price this the response was rudely delivered as "that's how much it is".
Would not return. Too many great restaurants in the Fitzroy/Collingwood area to experience bad service.
Brett Costa
CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND. First I read about the worst service ever, cannot believe it came from here....I had the most enjoyable night..great food , especially the pudding...not a rice fan but converted now...texture , taste ,just sublime.....
The staff attentive, friendly and cute....ask no more

A definite return in the future

YUMMY AS

Beautiful setting for beautiful food. This place has it all for me: the service is quick and very friendly. and they know their food and drink. I have been there for breakfast, brunch and lunch and drinks, up in the great terrace and inside the contemporary and cozy main room, and it never lets you down. Wahtever you order is just delicious.
Besides it is a very mum and kids friendly place. it is big enough for prams and i have been told that during the week there is parking available, which is a feat in busy Fitzroy.

Great summery brunch spot - light and airy, next to a great artist market. Delicious food and coffee, and a rooftop bar upstairs. What more could you want ?! Can't wait to go back.
JFI
Worst service in Melbourne. I would have loved to have had a meal in the great looking place but after our treatment by the staff I will never be going back. I went with a group of friends for brunch on a Sunday. It was busy but there were spare tables so we sat down and were given menus. 15 minutes later we were finally approached again to be told that they were putting a hold on taking any orders, for at least another 15 minutes, because the kitchen staff were so busy 'if we put another docket through they will start throwing pots and pans' - direct quote. We chose to leave at this point, obviously. First of all, if you don't have enough staff for the space you have, reduce the number of tables in your venue. Second of all, if you are so busy, don't sit people at the tables and give them menus. Let them know up front that you are really busy and it is going to be a long wait instead of letting people waste their time. And thirdly, maybe don't advertise your chef's anger problems to the world?
Worst service I have ever had in Melbourne, and that it saying something.
We went around the corner to industrie beans and had an awesome brunch there instead.
Brent
I gave this place a like for the great food, fresh juices and good atmosphere, however the coffee is a big dislike; luke warm and not very fresh or flavoursome. Overall, ok...
Shortmach
Ordinary coffee. Have been getting my coffee from Grace, just up from Young Bloods Diner, and thought I should give YBD's coffee a go. Unfortunately my coffee tasted more like a cup of luke warm milk. Heading back to Grace for consistently good coffee. Their coffee even beats Industry Beans who are supposed to be masters in coffee.

Lovely breakfast salad. Service very good, can see they want to get it right! Will be back

I'd just like to say YUM!!! I had the coddled eggs with a side of confit duck and beans, it was absolutely delicious. My companion had a salad of trout and cauliflower that looked amazing and she loved. We also had a glass of rose each. Its very refreshing to see a wine list so reasonably priced. I liked Young Bloods Diner very much, the space is really well considered. Can't wait to go back.
Ivan
Fantastic. Away from the Main Street. The top rooftop bar is gona be great in summer. Food is a winner.
Jac
Shop then eat, Perfect!. Best coffee I had in a long time. Yummy sandwiches. Great way to spend a weekend- Love the idea of a market next door so you can eat after a good shop!

Happy gal. I have been to Young Bloods Diner a few times now and the coffee is second to none. I have had breakfast which was beautiful as well as morning tea which offered a great variety of treats. After, we had a stroll around the artists market, which apparently are owned by the same guys. Great way to spend a Sunday. Two thumbs up!!

Fantastic Venue. Really impressive new diner in the competitive Fitzroy market. Attended for breakfast and cannot find a fault. Food was fresh and perfectly cooked. Coffee was sensational. Waiting staff were very friendly and attentive. All topped off by a fantastic fit out to create a wonderful ambience. Looking forward to a beer or a wine at the upstairs bar upon my next visit after looking at the great looking wine and beer list.

Really amazing cutout from a well known architect, so the place has a light but comfortable feel. I visited in the morning and thus can't attest to the quality of the food or wine list etc. Was quite surprised to find the coffee they used to be so low quality. Barista seemed like he knows his stuff but can only do so much with the tools given really. Not expecting a crazy expensive Kees Van Der Westen machine at a diner, but with so many great roasters in Melbourne and a three cup cafe around the corner, they will be in trouble if they don't step up their coffee game. This is Melbourne after all. Hope they can fix that in time, as the market is rad and it's nice to see proper spot set up there
The City Lane
Young Bloods Diner Fitzroy is a new venture by brothers Adam and Christian Ferrante, owners of the Roe Street Artists Market next door. The venue appears small from the street but don’t be fooled. Apart from the obvious inside space there’s seating out the back and a generously sized roof top bar.
Forksake
Delicious layers of potato and slow cooked ribs, soft and flavoursome on the bed of greens which was a nice healthy touch.
Minda Barley
The soup was snowy white, with a sprinklig of green herbs and two places of good chargrilled sourdough. The flavour of the soup was delicate and tasty and the texture silky smooth. Delicious.

All in all, a very pleasant spot for breakfast, that's a little neater and tidier than the typical hipster aesthetic, with a rather reasonably priced breakfast menu that leaves you content, but not stuffed.
