Review The Stone Hotel - Fitzroy

Yeah I been here. Bar staff were good, good chat. It was quiet for a Thursday night or are Thursday just quiet in general. Dose it matter? Any way had a couple, good times and good vibes.

Walked into the Stone Hotel on Wednesday & was greeted with such friendliness from Tom & his staff. Wow what a difference from the pub across the road ( Provoncial ) such rude rude staff. During our time at the Stone Hotel we all had delicious meals & would highly recommend anyone looking for a welcoming relaxed atmosphere to visit the Pub. Thanks once again Tom for making us so welcome & look forward to our next visit.

Came for the dancing! Had an amazing night dancing to music that was definitely 10 years or even older which was awesome as I actually knew all the words. Floors can be sticky but so can everywhere else when you go out. The staff were awesome.

Came for lunch, welcoming staff and the food was delicious and a generous serve! We ordered quite a few different things to share around and everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely a destination to check out

Very Vanilla modern pub. Expensive pints with a standard range of beers. Food was fairly ordinary with run of the mill Frozen chips + Parmy. The Staff were the main highlight with the bar manager going out of his way to be helpful and friendly despite challenging trading conditions Overall a fairly inoffensive option, but not one I'd go out of my way to visit.

Beautiful people and service, really good dining atmosphere, and food is exceptional. Totes value for money! Love the music selection too. No complaints; will be back with more friends!

Pretty good. Very serviceable for a standard pub meal. Choose this place for first post- lockdown catchup with friends as it was the only one we could find. Decent drinks selection. Standard pub food options. Modern, bright interior. Pretty good.

Food perfection. Definitely ate more than I physically needed because it was too good to waste. Lovely atmosphere downstairs and a gorgeous function room upstairs. Approved.

Great drinks, good food, but what really makes this place is it has possibly the best bar staff in the business. The owner is a great bloke too, I’ve enjoyed chats with him about the ins and outs of running a pub on Brunswick St and love his insight.

The most amazing function room, with the best food, very, very reasonable prices on drinks and the nicest staff! I cant recommend higher for a function of any size!

Had the fish and chips on Saturday was very nice only down side it didn't have a salad with meal , also seen a blow fly near where I was seating in the pub what was very off putting when trying to eat , the place needs a bit of clean up as well near the windows as there was a lot dust , near us , maybe tell your cleaners , this nice food the staff very Nice and lovely food

After having to leave the pub across the road as our 2hrs was up (still not sure the reason why)our family gathering of 18 called into The Stone hotel and we are so pleased we did what a great place the barman Moisey (hope that's right) arranged tables for and made us feel very welcome..The food was good as well even stayed for the DJ who was terrific..

Had my 30th here, honestly - best venue hands down. Excellent staff, service, drinks, venue layout and views in Fitzroy. I couldn't recommend this enough, I'm hoping to get a corporate function here in the near future for STRYDA. Thanks guys. You seriously made it the best party!

I've been staying across the road from this place for work recently and I've come here several times for dinner. The staff really friendly and make an effort, food is really good and a good selection of beers to choose from. I keep going back whenever I'm in town.

Had the most amazing lunch here today. Awesome pub with a cafe / restaurant feel...beautifully rebuilt & renovated in the heart of funky Fitzroy. Awesome atmosphere with a great relaxing feel. Great staff and service. Compliments to the chefs also. Highly recommend for drinks, coffee, meals and functions !!! Will definitely be back !!!!

Staff were nice and friendly good beers on tap. We have been here twice now not a bad spot just to stop in and have a cold one.

We have held two events for the Melbourne's Finest Hosts group of Airbnb hosts at The Stone Hotel and everyone loved it! Tom and his staff are really helpful, the function room upstairs is a great size with plenty of seating. The quality of food , drinks and service is outstanding. We are planning to host a bunch of events for 2016 at The Stone Hotel. Highly recommended!

Had a couple beers here yesterday, we sat outside in the sun and it was glorious.  The Spanish Fiesta was on and the vibe was great!<br/><br/>Good service at The Stone Hotel with a good selection of beers on tap.  Lots of room inside and out.

Had one off my best pub Parma her with a nice cold one, what a great way to spend your afternoon .The staff were very pleasant .And up for a good earbashing 😃

Went for lunch on a Monday . Parma and porterhouse.. yum yum yum! Couldn't fault either. Fast friendly service and awesome food and setting.. right in the heart of Brunswick st. Doesn't get much better for an impromptu pub meal.. doesn't hurt that Monday special steak meal is only $16!!

It's definitely worth coming here for the $16 steak night on Mondays. They actually cook your steak the way you ask for it. It's been our local steak night place over the last couple of months and we haven't been disappointed. Will keep coming back :)

Really nice pub with very attentive and efficient staff. We all had the steak - which was nothing extraordinary, but was good. The great thing about this pub is how open it is to the street and the hustle and bustle of Fitzroy and lots of people coming and going. Inside it is spacious and light. Lots of doors that open to the outside. Modern but still welcoming.

We came here on a deal to try it out after walking past several times. Reasonably good pub style food. Had the porterhouse, which was cooked perfectly and the cheeseburger. The bruschetta was a special for the deal , but very good. Worth a visit , try the roof top.

Food was delicious - 5 stars.<br/>However they lose points for service. Yes it is more pub style but it seems they are also trying to do a restaurant type of feel. The waiting time was way too long between starters and main, they forgot about our drinks and a few other details that is a 'no no'. We were served by 3 different staff who clearly didn't communicate and seemed unsure of themselves. Currently there is a Living Social offer online, check it out and give it a go.

What do you want in a pub? If it's a solid pub food menu with imagination, good array of drinks, comfortable clean and contempory seating options, clean functioning restrooms and ideal central location then The Stone Hotel won't disappoint. Vegetarian for me and carnivore for two mates made for a great few hours over lunch. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

Friday night with ambience. Good atmosphere with food choices to match. Great friendly service from staff that were very pleasant and attentive. Great choice of beers on tap and well priced!

When choosing this week's parma we were stuck between a rock and hard place. That hard place turned out to be The Stone Hotel in Fitzroy. <br/>The interior of this place was fantastic - brand new and very welcoming. After ordering from the very friendly fellow behind the bar we sat a stone's throw from the bar and waited about 15 minutes for the birds to come out. Boy oh boy were these parmas pretty, and they tasted just as good as they looked.<br/><br/>Cheese was full of flavour and beautifully melted on the crunchy, golden crumbing. Napoli sauce incredibly tasty and fresh although we could have done with a bit more of it. The chicken itself was also fresh and full of flavour, however we found it to be a tad dry.<br/>Chips were your classic, crunchy beer battered wonders and salad was well dressed, just as we like it. At $22 the meal was quality, however we did leave a little hungry and wished it was a bigger meal. <br/>Overall we can say that The Stone Hotel serves up a rippa Parma with plenty of fresh and tasty ingredients across the entire plate, we will be back soon for sure. <br/>8.5/10

Great fit out food is a bit average hope it lasts with such fierce competition. Upstairs roof top terrace is great. Think a little bit more effort on the food side wood pay off. But worth going.<br/>

I was a bit nervous to head back to Fitzroy – The last time we were here we crowned a new king … Any pub that was to follow that well and truly had their work cut out for them, so best to pick a pub that we had heard a lot of good things about before even leaving the house – We loaded up the Parma Bus and headed to Brunswick Street’s Stone Hotel.

We were invited for a complimentary dinner event by our university and it was worth it. The bar counter on the first floor is pretty good but what adds the beauty to it is the open air roof top seating area. That's even better. Love the place. A variety of beers and wines to offer and the starters are pretty good. Do try the spring rolls, they're way too amazing.

Took my girlfriend here for valentines day. How embarressing for me. Meals were absolutely terrible. The parma was inedible, made me dry reach. Should have looked up the reviews before we ordered. Avoid at all costs! The service on the other hand was ok. <br/><br/>Avoid this place at all costs! Good luck running a business serving food like this. Yuk!

Just back from a cracking eve at the Stone- met an old friend for a 12 dollar burger and had a cheeky look upstairs at an AMAZING roof like space that would good for a night out. <br/>Burger was delicious and great value and the beer selection is fabulous. This is my local and I've noticed it can be quiet during the week so I wanted to check it and see what promise it had. Very pleased!

Had phoned & booked, on an answering machine the night before during open hours, & despite not receiving a reply decided to still go. Very few people inside but decided to still go in as we were tired, thirsty & hungry. Ordered first drinks at the bar & took them to our table. Not friendly nor welcoming service. Almost seemed like they wished we weren't there. Only 8 people in the rooftop bar section & they managed to serve a cocktail to the wrong person. Sparsely furnished & an empty feeling. Bad vibe. Left to find somewhere else. Don't think they noticed.

Steve and I catch the tram to work outside this new establishment so we've seen it boarded up, boarded down and now open. It's never been very busy when we've walked by so who knows if it will stay? W. We decided to give it a go on a Thursday. night for a quick bite to eat. Again it was quiet with maybe 3 tables in which is a shame as it's a nice fit out and has a good selection of wines and beers.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here! Attentive service & delicious food. Coming back again for the scrumptious Organic Quinoa Salad with Roasted Cauliflower & caramelised onion

Can't fault this place. The decor and fit out is beautiful, staff are friendly and great location. Got everything right when designing this venue. <br/>Can't wait to come back and try the food - looks great (came for a few drinks only).<br/>My new regular pub! 5 stars.

Great food (share plates are a must as you get to try lots of things), Great Beer, Great Service, Great fit out and one of the best beer gardens in Fitzroy! We had a great time here! Well Done! So nice to see something different on Brunswick Street!
