Great drinks, good food, but what really makes this place is it has possibly the best bar staff in the business. The owner is a great bloke too, I’ve enjoyed chats with him about the ins and outs of running a pub on Brunswick St and love his insight.
The most amazing function room, with the best food, very, very reasonable prices on drinks and the nicest staff! I cant recommend higher for a function of any size!
Had a couple beers here yesterday, we sat outside in the sun and it was glorious. The Spanish Fiesta was on and the vibe was great!

Went for lunch on a Monday . Parma and porterhouse.. yum yum yum! Couldn't fault either. Fast friendly service and awesome food and setting.. right in the heart of Brunswick st. Doesn't get much better for an impromptu pub meal.. doesn't hurt that Monday special steak meal is only $16!!
It's definitely worth coming here for the $16 steak night on Mondays. They actually cook your steak the way you ask for it. It's been our local steak night place over the last couple of months and we haven't been disappointed. Will keep coming back :)
Really nice pub with very attentive and efficient staff. We all had the steak - which was nothing extraordinary, but was good. The great thing about this pub is how open it is to the street and the hustle and bustle of Fitzroy and lots of people coming and going. Inside it is spacious and light. Lots of doors that open to the outside. Modern but still welcoming.
Food was delicious - 5 stars.
However they lose points for service. Yes it is more pub style but it seems they are also trying to do a restaurant type of feel. The waiting time was way too long between starters and main, they forgot about our drinks and a few other details that is a 'no no'. We were served by 3 different staff who clearly didn't communicate and seemed unsure of themselves. Currently there is a Living Social offer online, check it out and give it a go.
What do you want in a pub? If it's a solid pub food menu with imagination, good array of drinks, comfortable clean and contempory seating options, clean functioning restrooms and ideal central location then The Stone Hotel won't disappoint. Vegetarian for me and carnivore for two mates made for a great few hours over lunch. I'd recommend it without hesitation.
Friday night with ambience. Good atmosphere with food choices to match. Great friendly service from staff that were very pleasant and attentive. Great choice of beers on tap and well priced!

When choosing this week's parma we were stuck between a rock and hard place. That hard place turned out to be The Stone Hotel in Fitzroy.
The interior of this place was fantastic - brand new and very welcoming. After ordering from the very friendly fellow behind the bar we sat a stone's throw from the bar and waited about 15 minutes for the birds to come out. Boy oh boy were these parmas pretty, and they tasted just as good as they looked.
Cheese was full of flavour and beautifully melted on the crunchy, golden crumbing. Napoli sauce incredibly tasty and fresh although we could have done with a bit more of it. The chicken itself was also fresh and full of flavour, however we found it to be a tad dry.
Chips were your classic, crunchy beer battered wonders and salad was well dressed, just as we like it. At $22 the meal was quality, however we did leave a little hungry and wished it was a bigger meal.
Overall we can say that The Stone Hotel serves up a rippa Parma with plenty of fresh and tasty ingredients across the entire plate, we will be back soon for sure.

Great fit out food is a bit average hope it lasts with such fierce competition. Upstairs roof top terrace is great. Think a little bit more effort on the food side wood pay off. But worth going.
Yeah I been here. Bar staff were good, good chat. It was quiet for a Thursday night or are Thursday just quiet in general. Dose it matter? Any way had a couple, good times and good vibes.
Walked into the Stone Hotel on Wednesday & was greeted with such friendliness from Tom & his staff.
Wow what a difference from the pub across the road ( Provoncial ) such rude rude staff.
During our time at the Stone Hotel we all had delicious meals & would highly recommend anyone looking for a welcoming relaxed atmosphere to visit the Pub.
Thanks once again Tom for making us so welcome & look forward to our next visit.
Came for the dancing! Had an amazing night dancing to music that was definitely 10 years or even older which was awesome as I actually knew all the words. Floors can be sticky but so can everywhere else when you go out. The staff were awesome.
Came for lunch, welcoming staff and the food was delicious and a generous serve! We ordered quite a few different things to share around and everything was cooked to perfection. Definitely a destination to check out

Pretty good. Very serviceable for a standard pub meal. Choose this place for first post- lockdown catchup with friends as it was the only one we could find. Decent drinks selection. Standard pub food options. Modern, bright interior. Pretty good.
Food perfection. Definitely ate more than I physically needed because it was too good to waste.
Lovely atmosphere downstairs and a gorgeous function room upstairs.
