Review Panna Thai - Fitzroy

Came here with friends on a Monday night and itā€™s quite busy. Recommend booking beforehand. Full house with constant delivery, but the wait time for food is very reasonable. Nice friendly vibes from smiley staffs. Fried barramundi in apple salad is recommended! Overall had a great experience šŸ˜Š

By sheer fate, we found this place and what an absolute culinary treat it was. This place has beautiful ambience with a wall mural, lighting and seating arrangements. Big tick! Menu no by large which makes ordering easy but also means what they do prepare is of the highest quality. We ordered chicken pad Thai, massaman curry, story fry with cashews and chilli jam plus entrees of paint sauce with roti, sprinkled by rolls and chicken wings. Portion sizes were large and the food so tasty. Service from one waitress was fast, efficient and very friendly. Parking can be challenging but at night much easier. Good disabled access. Toilets on site. Dietaries well catered for. Price matches the quality. In summary, this is a must try restaurant for authentic Thai food with great atmosphere and service.

The decor and service were good. I ordered green curry. It was not a curry but a soup. Too hot in temperature. Too hot in flavour. Even though marked as no chilli in the menu. I was told thatā€™s true but all their food has chilli. She said next time to mention no chilli. I managed to avoid the soup part and just eat the veggies. Pretty awful experience.

Highly recommend after eating here a couple of times. Friendly staff, great tasting food, the pandan cups were an unique dessert.

Got a beef curry with roti bread and coconut rice. The curry was good, the roti bread a bit raw and not cooked enough. The lady also forgot to put the curry puff pastry inside my bag. But it might be a mistake from a busy night as anywhere else was closed so they were really overwhelmed with orders.

I Love Panna Thai. If l do have a take out meal, it is generally Thai. I look at qaulity of food, service, how clean the restaurant is, and of course flavour. l am very fussy with what l have and where l have it from. Panna Thai has never failed in any dish l have ordered. Very good quality and excellent service. Recently due to lockdown and Christmas they were under the pump. Sometimes an hour wait which is unusual, but still worth the wait. But generally speaking, they are always on time, and l have enjoyed every meal and will always be going to Panna thai for my favorite dishes. Keep up the amazing work Panna Thai. Love the food and Staff are wonderful people. šŸ˜

A sad take away eating experience. A very dissatisfied customer. A star off for each thing that was wrong for me. 1 The food finally was ready 35 minutes after the given pick-up time. Yes, you were busy, but we counted six in the kitchen and three serving. It meant going back in four times to see if the order was ready. It was five or ten more minutes each time. 2 The food was not prepared as a single order. Dishes sat there whilst another was made. 3 I didn't get what I ordered. I wanted (needed) Asian greens. I got Gado Gado. I could have made that with Christmas leftovers, in a fraction of the time. 4 There was some gooey substance in the corner of the container. I didn't eat the vegetables that touched it.

This place is outstanding! I've now ordered Pad Kee Mau (Spicy) withĀ Chicken,Ā Deep Fried Salt and Pepper Tofu,Ā Lemon Pepper Calamari with Sweet Chili Sauce andĀ Poached Chicken Green Curry (Spicy), Green PapayaĀ Som Tam with Deep Fried Soft-Shell Crab (Spicy),Ā Pad ThaiĀ Chicken,Ā Ginger Sauce Stir Fry. It's all about autheticity and food quality here. Generous serves with fresh vegetables. Low oil. This place has it spot on for the Melbourne palate. I really enjoyed the good quality fresh ingredients in the dishes. They even used sliced chicken breast which is the most expensive cut of chicken. (Most Asian places use pieces of Chicken Maryland.)Ā I loved the Pad Kee Mau, Pad Thai, Lemon Pepper Calamari and Green Curry. The calamari was high quality, tender and well prepared with scoring. The Salt and Pepper Tofu should probably have more Chinese salt and pepperĀ flavouring. I thought it was a bit bland but, nothing some fresh chili won't fix. The Green Curry is full of meat and thick. I loved how all the dishes had their own unique personalities. For example, the Green Papaya salad was sour and spicy, the way it's supposed to be and made no apologies for it. The Green Curry had the right spices with kaffir lime leaf but, the mastery was in making the remaining ingredients smooth - nothing was harsh or overpowering in this dish. I loved it. My go to for Thai food in the city. It has been a long time coming to find a holy grail Thai restaurant in Melbourne city area.

Conveniently located on St Georgeā€™s Road, opposite Piedimonte's Supermarket with plenty of parking spots close by. The atmosphere as you walk in is tranquil and gives you the essence of being in Thailand. We were greeted with exceptionally friendly staff and catered to our needs. We decided to choose the Massaman curry and Pad Thai with bustling flavours with every bite. We finished our meal with black sticky rice pudding with coconut ice cream and it was a delight! Highly recommend and look forward to coming back for more!

Lovely staff. Potato wrapped prawns was an awesome highlight (would order again). Potato anything is always good. Crunchy goodness. Massaman Curry was delicious. Pad Cha Talat came out sizzling and had some spicy heat to it. Solid Thai place, ambiance was casual and relaxed. So happy it was open because we were starving and so many places were on Xmas/holiday break!

Dined here on Wednesday night. Chicken green curry and Tom Kha soup were absolutely delicious. Rest of the menu sounded lovely, canā€™t wait to go back to try more!

Called to make a booking, unfortunately I talked to a SUPER RUDE staff, she didn't even ask what i was calling for, and told me do not call back then hanged up on me.
Totally disappointed. I will never come to this place, neither all of my family and my friends.
You guys need better training.

A wonderful addition to the Thai food scene in Melbourne. Newly opened, I went to try it out and was not disappointed! The roti and satay, and the prawn spring rolls were delectable and not heavy. For mains, we had pad see ew with prawns and Pad Cha Talay, a deliciously spicy seafood dish with fresh vegetables. This was topped off by some coconut ice-cream with chunks of actual coconut in it. Atmosphere and service were charming.

Had a pleasant meal. Food was tasty- just what you would expect from a local Thai. The red duck curry was a little too salty (too much fish sauce?). The duck was very tender though. Staff were lovely and very accommodating

Melburnians love a good Thai dinner. Fortunately for folks in Fitzroy North, the heart warming and tastefully decorated Panna Thai is open for business. Neighbouring the old TinPot cafe, Panna Thai is simply delicious.

Ordered up the chicken satay, roasted duck and lychee red curry, and the special Panna Thai fried rice on our first visit last week...we were delighted. Returned on Tuesday this week for some more satay, sizzling beef stir fry, and crunchy rockling fish with sweet and spicy sauce.

Itā€™s all about the food really. Tasty, quality food at a decent price. And it seems really authentic. The locals should be very happy!
