No ordinary scrambled eggs...they were the best I’ve ever had! So creamy and tasty. Also serving top notch coffee from Commonfolk. Win win

If you’re planning a trip out to Mornington anytime soon, be sure to put Georgie Bass on your to-do list during the day – whether you’re interested in going there to eat or checking out their cooking classes.

Focused on local and seasonal produce, Georgie Bass is all about clean eating that’s both fun and fresh that definitely reflects the coastal feel of Mornington as a tourist destination.

The moment you step into the quaint little café, you’ll be greeted with an almost-open kitchen space and a big shelf stacking some special homemade jams. While the size of the café itself is relatively small and cosy, the décor of nicely situated wooden tables and chairs create a spacious and wholesome atmosphere.
You won’t be able to miss the large open windows that oversee the vibrant green landscape too – perfect for those Instagram pictures. To the back of the café sits more shelves, decorated with various knick-knacks that add a pleasant vibe to the space. With different styled ceramics, tea sets, and quaint vases of flowers, it’s almost like walking into grandma’s house.

The menu itself is succinct. However with limited quantity comes great quality, as the dishes are all made with fresh produce and are delightfully satisfying. From the texture, colour, plating and price – Georgie Bass really do prove that they’re dedicated to preserving the taste of seasonal produce while sprucing it up wonderfully.

The wild mushroom and poached chicken dishes are amongst the stars of the menu. Drinks are on par with the food, with offerings varying from a freshly pressed juice to a fun Nutella milkshake that seemed to be popular with all the kids present in the café. If you’d rather something quick and light to eat, then the front of the counter hosts a range of different cakes and fruit smoothies to quench that fix.

Before leaving, definitely do not forget to pass by the shelf of purchasable jams – from strawberry to everything in between, it’s something you’ll want to buy as keepsake of the fantastic time you’ve had. Make Mornington and Georgie Bass your next road trip destination now!

Amazing cafe with great customer service and awesome breakfast. Thank you for replacing bacon with smoked salmon. Enjoyed the view outside and seating. The best part about the cafe is they're dog friendly. Will definitely visit again

What a great find while in Flinders. A lovely cafe that was nicely decked out that dished up a great menu of both brunch and lunch options. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked. The duck was also different and tasty. The salmon dish had way too much beetroot for my liking though. Service was great and so was the coffee. A recommended visit when in town.

Beautiful cafe is a cute town. Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Service was relatively quick.

Food tasted great. Really enjoyed the smashed avo. The corn was a nice touch.
Coffee was also on point. Well worth a visit.

Perfect poached eggs.
We decided to venture to flinders for some late breakfast and found this place. WOW!
The meals were perfection. The eggs were poached to perfection, I’ve never had them like that, the big breakfast was huge and everything was cooked perfect.
The wait staff were lovely to deal with.
The place itself is gorgeous, set on the corner, full of greenery and many shaded areas.
Highly recommend this place.

Loved the chic fit out, it’s fairly snug inside, but this place is truly designed for Summer eating. Unfortunately it was raining and blowing a gale, so we sat inside.

Perfect 63 degree eggs, on sourdough, creamy buttered mushrooms, rashers of crispy 'rare breed' bacon, accompanied with three ceramic pots of local goats cheese, beetroot relish, mashed pumpkin, garnished with micro greens. Only thing that let it down was the pots were all fridge cold. I felt the pumpkin should have been warm.

I overheard a conversation from someone who had never had their eggs this way and thought they seemed raw. To me, this is an egg at its most perfect.

Service was warm and friendly, like we were friends, arriving for breakfast. They were very accommodating in making space for our (rainy day) pram. Common folk coffee was perfect.

Crispy flaky buttery danish and sublime salted caramel tart ended brunch on a sweet note.

This is a a cookery & cafe, with a fully decked out kitchen set up. Would like to return soon for a Forage in Flinders workshop, along with a repeat visit to Georgie Bass, would be a perfect way to spend a weekend.

After walking to a few different eateries in Flinders we settled on this cute little "affordable" place. Nice atmosphere & very comfy chairs. Good service, great teas & the food was pretty good too. Our only minor complaint, was that it could have been hotter. My partners miso soup was only just warm & when poured over cold tofu & accompaniments, it was a tad unpleasant. My scrambled eggs were ok. Great sour dough toast.

Great location when the sun is shining. Dog friendly. Found the service to be a little on the slow side. The coffee is good and the food is of a high standard. Down side is it closes too early.

In Short: A little bit of Melbourne’s top quality café fare in Flinders’ rolling seaside pastures. Georgie Bass Café & Cookery accomplishes outstanding coffee and locally sourced seasonal dishes that offer originality and flare.

We’ve been spending a lot more time in Melbourne, and part of the true Victorian experience is to venture into the mosaic of regional landscapes that make this part of Australia so engaging. Finding ourselves cruising one of our favourite backdrops, the Mornington Peninsula, we roll into the quaint, yet eclectic village of Flinders. Lined with a surprising array of boutique shops, this little oasis of country-style sophistication now harbours a gem for the café crowd, the recently launched Georgie Bass Café & Cookery.

Not too busy on a Sunday morning. Chile eggs were delicious and arrived quickly. Portion was a little smaller than I expected for $18, but today's demographic was wealthy middle-age locals who probably find this more appetising, so seems logical. Not sure if the bread was really sourdough, but it was served nicely & not soggy from the eggs.

Perfect experience on a cold rainy morning. Sat by the fire and enjoyed the most perfect French toast. Great coffee. We've not always had the best service here but this morning was very good.

Tasty food (quite limited breakfast menu) and ok coffee, service was spacious but bordering on slow despite a lot of staff. Nice interior and reasonable prices.

From the moment we were 1/2 way through the door we were greeted with a smile and a hello. That means everything. It meant we were valued and welcomed. We stayed. Didn’t get takeaway, and were very impressed the good service and food didn’t stop. Well done to your business

Stopped with 6 residents from my aged care facility. Staff adjusted. To meet the needs of my older group who enjoyed the service and the huge slices of cake.
