Review Thien An - Footscray

Tasty traditional vietnamese dishes. Each meal is generously portioned and authentic in flavours. The restaurant is spacious and clean looking The bun xeo was very thin and crispy. The pork chop with the broken rice was nicely seasoned with a lot of lemongrass. The only negative point was the pork and prawn noodles had literally one prawn in the whole bowl. Service is so so, not very attentive.

One of the few Vietnamese restaurants in Footscray with nice interior. It is also quite spacious. Price is standard, around $11 and up. What I like about this place is the many interesting choices beside the standard pho and broken rice dishes. I ordered the special chilli beef noodle soup with half cooked beef. I cant really find the half cooked beef, but it's so massive I can do without it. There are pork, blood jelly, sausage and other stuff. It's not that spicy and the flavour is light and refreshing.

I enjoy eating here. It's clean, staff are friendly (can be a little difficult to understand if you only speak English) and the food is yummy. Some of the dishes I think are a little overpriced but I stick with the fried rice, specials or Singapore noodles that are tasty and well priced.

This is my go to Vietnamese restaurant when I am after Spicy Beef Noodles or Drop Rice Noodles or Tomato fried rice. I have been here so many times since I was a kid. For some reason this place is not as busy as other restaurants in the area, which is a shame. Very clean and modern looking.

The food is absolutely fantastic, quite authentic. Because of the lacking of staff member, services are pretty slow.

Food was decent but Pho broth was a little lacking in flavour. The salt and pepper quail flesh was juicy but skin was not very crispy and also lacked flavour. Ordered prawn spring rolls. Menu said $6. They charged $12. After questioning why the overcharge, they said the reason was because they changed the menu from 3 to 6 in an entré serve but the menu never stated how many you received in the first place. I was never offered a refund. I had to suggest that the menu be updated before overcharging customers with false advertising. After being treated this way, I will not go there again especially with the numerous Vietnamese restaurants in the local area that actually care and treat their customers right not to mention how tasty they are in comparison.

Been here two times within the past week, couldn’t be bothered having dinner at home. Boy has this fulfilled my tastebuds, there so much flavour to the food and tastes amazing. You can tell it’s very authentic and tastes so surreal, the menu option is big so there’s plenty to choose from. Definitely worth the price and recommend those who like Vietnamese to come here.

Plain decor ,staff in t shirts and jeans. Thought this can't be good. WRONG ,Food is wonderful and plentiful. Bonus, didn;t have to ask for clear broth with my tomato rice and the best crispy skin chicken i have had in a long time. Great place to eat.
