Review Round About Cafe - Frankston

Scrolling through local café listings in the area I came across the RAC and decided to give it a shot. I noticed plenty of locals seated outdoors which was a positive sign, we walked in and waited to be seated. The waitress allowed us to choose our own table and promptly brought over house water and menus. Offered to order drinks shortly after so the service was duly appreciated. I had the scrambled eggs with confit mushrooms and my partner the eggs oceanic. Both meals came out quickly, modest dish sizes and well presented. The dining area inside was quite noisy and with plenty of people traffic for takeaway coffee, I'd suggest dining outside in future.

Love love love this cafe. Service is fantastic and staff are so friendly. The food is always delicious and I love the choice of frozen margaritas. I've honestly never had a bad meal from this cafe and I've eaten from here a lot since Covid started. Love it and highly recommended!

Brunch turned into late lunch… for basic food waited over 2 hours for 3 hash browns with little toddler unfortunately. I do not leave reviews but this was a must! The scrambled eggs on toast arrived with no cutlery provided to eat it with. Had to grab from another table. One meal arrived as salmon bagel (was not even on the menu) so had to wait again for the ‘menu ordered’ bagel. Staff were offended when we asked about the wait - an hour and a half after ordering and not getting food - all it would take was some communication that their kitchen staff are not able to produce food in large quantities and there is a 2 hour wait so we could decide to go somewhere else or go for a walk. $19 for this simple yet fatty and overly salty bagel and 2 hours …. Would not recommend.

Beautiful brunch place! We had the calamari salad, BLT and a cappuccino. We asked for the music to be turned down which made it hard to talk, but the staff was great and quickly turned it down a little. Will be going again~

Hidden gem for sure! Got the smashed avo which was lovely & a dirty chai. Was just powdered chai but still nice Staff were very attentive and lovely Recommended!

Nice, easy-going environment, friendly and attentive staff and the food is simple and amazing!!! Not to mention they cater extremely well for gluten free and vegan choices. Oh, and the coffee rocks!!! Just a little noisy when full, but only due to bad acoustics which some ceiling boards would fix.

I had poached eggs with corn fritters and mushrooms and returned it back uneaten with both eggs very hard & a disappointing looking fritter the toast was dry & stale. But my coffee's were very good, the staff was very friendly, the manger removed one of our meals from the bill which was very nice. But sadly at the moment this place is very hit & miss with who's cooking, hopefully for our area this place will get it right soon.

Great coffee and my breakfast of poached eggs, bacon on sourdough was cooked perfectly. Enjoyed going on my morning walk with my dog, stop for breakfast sitting on the outside table and my dog was welcome. Nice to have a place with good food, drinks and dog friendly.�

We checked it out this place today and am so very glad we did. The service was efficient and friendly (thank you to Nicole,our very lovely waitress). The food was cooked perfectly, both the meals we ordered were cooked to perfection, obviously with love and care. This little gem of place needs to hold on to their chef as she was pumping out great meals. Hubby even had a bit of food envy as he spied a Thai Beef salad go out to another table, think he might try that next time. Well done Round About Cafe I can see why the the place is buzzing with activity.

Great little find, we had S&P calamari and the breakfast board & coffees...yummo � Service was very friendly and quick. Highly recommend you give this place a try.

Friendly fast service catering for dietary needs. Generous portion sizes, varied menu with some wow factor items. We will definitely be back!

A lovely set up, with welcoming staff and a delightful chia latte! After visiting with our mothers group, with many prams, I cannot wait to return. We were well looked after with plenty of room for our bubs and coffee that gave us the kick we all desperately needed. Personally I had the chai which wasn't over sweet and left me craving a second. Forget Bayside and the busy streets on Frankston, head to Round About Cafe instead.

I'll be honest, I wasn't impressed the first time I went. Granted it was opening weekend. Gave it a crack a couple weeks later and wowee! I HIGHLY recommend the place! Such a massive turn around! Well played!

Myself and my partner went on valentines morning and the food was amazing. Portioned well and good prices. The cafe itself feels homey and very inviting but that also comes from the staff being so friendly.

Reasonably priced, good service and generous servings, love it, and will continue to come back! The take away egg and bacon rolls are amazing and the home made sausage rolls are just as good. Vegetarian options for the better half too!

Everything about this cafe was perfect. Delicious food, lovely outlook of the lake and great service. So lucky to have such a wonderful cafe close to home.

Great service. Even gave my dog a bowl of water. Breakfast generous size. Just little teething problems. Eggs slightly overcooked. Bacon very overcooked. Coffee lukewarm. It's only early days will certainly be back.

Lovely coffee. Just a little bit noisy I'm not sure if it's the concrete floors or lack of soft furnishings. No lettuce on the burger :( tasty chips staff were polite. Fast service

My husband and I pre-pandemic would consider this one of our favourite places and are thrilled to get back there. Their ever changing, seasonal menu is diverse and brings new delicious creations each time. Their speciality events/evenings like tapas night are a blast, great people, incredible food, awesome vibe in a beautiful location just across from the pond. This place 🙌

Great coffee, fast and friendly service, tasty frittata and gorgeous duck pond perfect for a pit stop with the kids.<br/><br/>The cafe is bright, spacious with a clean and simple set-up. Brunch plates coming out of the kitchen looked great however on this first occasion, I only popped in for a quick coffee and frittata to go. Both latte and frittata were unexpectedly REALLY GOOD! In addition to the made-to-order, there are plenty more heat & go options from the fridge.<br/><br/>Generous alfresco out front looking out to the duck pond across the road.<br/><br/>Wonderful little hidden gem. Will be back to try more on the menu!

Nice cafe tucked away of the main area in Frankston. The food is great with a range of sweet and savoury. The pancakes fluffy and benny tasty.

I have eaten at the Round About Cafe many times. It's a great meeting place for family and friends and offers a wide range of fantastic food. The coffee is grouse, the food is too and the service isn't to shabby either. Give it a go.

Can't fault this cafe. Excellent food and friendly staff. Too hard to choose, I will visit again (and again) to try different things from a very good menu.
