Came for a healthy feed after climbing next door.
The medium sashimi is fresh, thick-cut and delicious.
Sushi rolls are huge. We got California and a scallop and crab one.
Food came quickly and we were in and out in 30 minutes.
We enjoyed this very much. Not the greatest Japanese place but friendly, excellent quality and tasty. We will be back for sure.Great traditional bakery across the road. Try the Eccles cake!
Wow. The food here is great. It's definitely not your typical sushi place. The chefs here have put a twist on what we know as sushi and created some amazing dishes. Be warned though, the chef specials are very, very big. I could barely finish the plate I had.
Really fresh sushi and tasty authentic sushi, but the service is slow and music always a little too loud. Great place for a healthy lunch after a day at the beach. Good sushi on the beaches.
Beyond exceptional.
The service and food mirrors some of Sydney's best.
This restaurant delivers. The sashimi was fresh, the nigiri'a rice was perfectly seasoned and the bento box's presented well. The value for money is phenomenal
My only flaw (and I'm nitpicking here) was that the salad was underdressed. Besides that, this restaurant is sublime.
The establishments in the CBD have much to learn. Will definitely be back

Mostly only known to fellow freshies or nthern beachers, sushi hiro is quite the hidden gem. They have a bewildering array of sushi, rice, udon, soba, ramen and meal sets. I have yet to sample everything on my previous visits.
Recommend their lotus root chips 3.25/5, fried oysters 3.25/5, sashimi sets (any size) 3.5/5, generous slices of fresh sashimi unlike those served by some franchise type shops.
We were after a local quick eat to catch up. I realised that I still hadn't been to Sushi Hiro, which in Freshwater Village is extremely popular. It's the new kid in town. It's something different. My friend orders the Hero sushi bento set and I order the udon sushi set. Both meals are large. And cheap. Yes, the sushi isn't fresh; you can tell because it falls apart when you pick it up. It's isn't freshly made rice that sticks together. But it isn't bad. It's fine sushi. The udon soup is nice, a little oily, but the tempura sprinkles, seaweed and noodles are all perfect. It's certainly no Ryo 's or Menya Mappen , where they are made fresh before your eyes, but for Freshwater's only Japanese place, it's good. And about time. Don't expect too much from it and you'll have a good, quick, cheap meal here. It's good Japanese for the 'burbs.
Fresh, clean and friendly. Had the Katsu chicken here and it was great. Good size portion with rice, salad and miso soup for around $15. Staff very friendly, food is fresh and the place looked clean. Will be back.
Great food. Fast and friendly service. Fantastic value. Highly recommended
Amaze balls!!. Best sushi ever!!!!! Hands down!! Don't know anywhere else!! freshest at freshwater
We love Sushi Hiro. A bit specific but their gyozas are a real standout and seem like they’re home made- never seen them at any other venue.
Great place, good food, good service, highly recommended. Agedashi tofu is on the sweet side. Spicy soft shell Crab salad is delicious.
Lovely fresh food. Great service. Ordered 2 massive sushi and sashimi platters at 3pm for 6pm pick up! Everyone loved it! Delicious ! Thank you
