Went to Mr Nicks for a quick lunch. Ordered the Mr Nicks Roll which was a roast meat of choice (I chose the porchetta - other options included lamb & beef) with cheese and salad.
The roll was absolutely delicious - the porchetta was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and delicious pork and herb centre.
The cafe also had a seating area outside which was lovely. Service was quick.
Breakfast was our target and very good one we had. The eggs Benedict were done very correctly including lightly poached eggs, ham, not bacon, on a muffin (thank God not a bagel) and a light hollandaise sauce. Eggs Bendict is first a visual and then a textural experience before a tasting one. The knife should easily pass through all the layers. A feat not possible with tough bacon or a chewy bagel. Our coffee was also excellent and staff cheerful and helpful, service prompt and attentive. Setting and situation - almost sitting in a car park stopped the 5th star.
Wow amazing, unexpected 5 star food! Chicken souvlaki & steak were to die for! Succulent meat & generous servings with Great service. Great wine list. This restaurant belongs in the city or on the river Torrens, pitty about the car park views !
We needed some supplies for our grazing platter so why not stop by a not so standard supermarket. You can tell it’s not your typical supermarket with a piano parked in one corner (no pianist unfortunately but it was early evening) and a coffee/wine bar out the front. I definitely needed a coffee after a long day out and lo and behold this one was still open even in the evening (probably due to being a wine bar too!).
I ordered a Mocha from the polite gentleman serving the customers at the bar. He went about making it and before you know it, voila my coffee was done. It had a nice flavour and definitely made the rest of the car journey much better!

Of course, shopping can really work up an appetite, hence the introduction of Mr Nick’s Kitchen & Coffee Bar. Named after the boss himself, the cafe has a seasonal menu that uses fresh, locally sourced ingredients straight from the supermarket.
Great spot for a quick bite to eat. The service is top notch and so is the food. Fair prices. Very fresh produce. Good coffee too.
You know those simple cafes you see in supermarkets? This is not one of those. It's much nicer, a Cafe in its own right. Very convenient. I've had coffees there with a friend and we've always enjoyed them. The seating likely contributed alot to the enjoyment. Good job.

If there were more stars I would definitely go for a ten out of ten! This place is simply gorgeous! The food to die for! I had a glass of barkhut road island estate red to accompany my Mr nick's burger which was simply a cut above being one of the best burgers I've ever eaten in my life. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Have a cultured experience where the adjoining foodland is in another league of its own. I've been here too many times to count... currently trying a salted caramel tart with some of my spirit tribe. Love the service Nick 😘
Had the most unexpectedly great Monday lunch experience. Our waitress Dakota was super friendly and engaging; which is always appreciated but not always delivered.
We ordered the Grilled Calamari and Fish of the Day which was Snapper fillets. Both dishes were ocean fresh, generous in size and cooked beautifully... all washed down with a G&T and our Monday was complete.
Hit Frewville for the week's grocery shopping but breakfasted first at Mr Nick's. The options were diverse enough, atmosphere particularly cosy, food up to par, coffees excellent. Service may have been a tad efficious but who doesn't prefer that to the opposite?
Great food, decent coffee, nice atmosphere although slightly cramped. Service was prompt and friendly. Prices are about what you'd expect in this part of town. The portobello burger was delicious and very filling, and the fries were perfect.
Can you believe that a cafe in a supermarket in Adelaide makes THE BEST COFFEE I’ve ever had. I’ve been coming to Mr Nicks for years and every single day(yes every day without fail) It’s hard to find a place that makes consistent coffee and each day they nail it.(oh and big ticks that they don’t charge for Milk Lab almond milk) I also love the salmon breakfast muffins! I’ve eaten many meals in the restaurant part and they are always exceptional. Don’t ever change Mr Nicks or you’ll throw my daily routine completely out!!
