My husband and I visited Geelong Cellar Door under the advice of my cousins, who frequently go there. It was everything they said it would be. Friendly staff who are very attentive but not intrusive. The selection of wines and beer is extensive and the cheese platter we shared hit the spot.
Would highly recommend it!
Well, what can I say about Geelong Cellar Door? No night out is complete without a visit to this place. The wine is always great, but it is the impeccable customer service of the staff that keeps me coming back every time. Whenever I'm asked "where should we go" I would say 99% of the time, my answer is Cellar Door. Whether it is for pre-dinner or post-dinner drinks - this place is an absolute must visit.
What better way to spend a sunny afternoon than people watching with a few glasses of delicious wine and some tasty nibbles.
We chose to sit outside at the bistro style tables which adds an European style vibe. The wines were delicious, and we chose the largest plate of cheese and charcuterie. This was extremely generous and we thoroughly enjoyed each little bite. All the extras... pickles, olives, cornichons, fruits etc added to the appeal.
The inside is fitted out with warm timbers, and would be lovely in Winter, and there is also a rear courtyard which we didn't venture out to. I would recommend this as a fab place to drop in with friends, especially when the weather is lovely and sunny. We can't wait to go back next time we are in Geelong.
Really stunning venue with real fire at the back. Lots of seating options inside and out. We had the grande meat and cheese platter. It was a very nice selection. Great wine selection. I opted for the local Shiraz. Gets super busy but there is a high turnover on the tables. The staff are very busy but friendly.
We stopped and had a few drinks before dinner, great place. We had a window seat and people watched. Great wine and food menu(nibbles),
I would recommend
Great wine and amazing platters! Love the interiors and the staff was lovely. The rosé on the menu was delicious, light and fruity- extremely drinkable as was the Pinot noir. We shared the grande platter and a terrine between 5 people. The figs, apricots and quince paste paired extremely well with the cheese selection that we all couldn't have enough. It also came with olives, walnuts and this amazing olive oil with bread as crackers which too we all finished in an instant. The pork terrine was divine and too was yummy with the pickles and pickled veg on the side which it came with. Everything was also beautifully presented and it was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. A hidden gem in Geelong.
Wow. Killer wine bar. Ambiance 👌 wine👌 sommelier 👌 cheese selection👌 wine knowledge and selection👌 value for money👌. Ticks all 'round. And it has a fire place to make it cosier than it already is. Better than many in Melbourne and the best in Geelong. Well done guys! 🏅
This has to be the best, classiest spot for a glass of wine in Geelong CBD.
We stopped in for a quick drink while waiting for our train (a short 5 minute or so walk to the station) on a quiet Saturday afternoon. We discussed as we walked along the Melbourne-esque laneway (which the Geelong Cellar Door occupies) that probably all Saturday afternoons are quiet in Geelong CBD. It was quiet enough that an exceptionally poor rendition of piano man coming from a neighbouring bar filled the laneway as we passed one of the few others in the lane, a gent with a beer in hand. He greeted an acquaintance 'good morning!' much too late in the afternoon. Her response 'good morning!' caused me to notice she also had an open beer with her. Marvellous.
We had a delicious dry local sparking - the wines by the glass seemed to me to all be well considered options. There is a courtyard area shared with nearby bars out back for sunny days in addition to a great indoor space. We'll be back next time we in town.
Such a great find! The atmosphere here is great, drinks and platters are just divine and the service was very friendly. I will definitely be back!
Great wine bar and service. Went here last night for a few drinks before dinner. Beautiful set up and nice cozy fire. Had the trio of dips, bubbly and Shiraz and all were top notch. The owner was extremely personable. Will definitely be back, just what Geelong needs

Cellar Door Geelong . What a great find ! Tucked away in little Ryrie st. Small and intimate, open fire, Hugh selection of wines, great Antipastos, fantastic service and wine knowledge, awesome place to catch up with friends. I recommend this place if you enjoy a wine!! I will definitely go back sooner than later .......signing out , Kitchen Bitch
It’s a fascinating place! They’ve an amazing variety of local wines, beer and cider. Service is very friendly, with a sophisticated atmosphere that characterises wine lovers🍷. I enjoyed a glass of red wine and a combination platter a selection 2 cheeses and 2 meats with dried fruits, nuts and more… It’s an excellent place to enjoy a romantic night with your partner, or visit with your family or friends. If you’re in Geelong you must visit this place👌🏻.
We recently stayed in geelong for a couple of nights and stumbled upon this gorgeous place our first night. Wonderful quality wine and service to match. We loved it so much we went back the next day! Wish this was our local
Very good atmosphere and nice cheese platter, beautiful selection of wine . Definitely come back again ..
Cool and cosy wine bar in heart of Geelong CBD. Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. Wine list has some great wines from the local region and abroad.
Beautiful local wines at a very reasonable price. We got there too late to try the menu, but I will definitely go again due to the quality of the wines!
An amazing place. Great knowledge by Ryan on the wines offered. Plate portions were very generous. Definitely coming back when next visiting Geelong.
This is the @geelongcellardoor a wine bar and restaurant with an outdoor wine 🍷 terrace found in Little Mallop St, Geelong’s laneway of drinking and dining venues. I’d been following @winegeelong so as soon as I walked in the door here I recognised the impressive #geelongwine honour role on the wall. Sitting at the bar and watching the cheese 🧀 and charcuterie boards get made up wasn’t easy but dinner reservations were made elsewhere. #winebar #geelong #littlemallopstreet #lanewaybar
Gorgeous place to chill for an afternoon wine and platter.
Have been here numerous times and stopped in most recently for a few glasses of wine and a platter after work with my partner.
They were busy (at capacity) so food coming out was a bit slow, but the wine always came out very quickly.
Staff overall are great; friendly and well informed, I did have a snarky comment last night though from one male waiter, who after asking if we’d chosen a wine to order replied “Thank God!”. We’d only just been seated to a table, but perhaps the stresses of a busy night were beginning to show there.
Will still be back for sure.
