With restaurants and cafes your favourite can often depend on your mood and your needs at the time. I have found myself walking through the doors of Ebony&Ivory on multiple occasions, all completely different in need and mood (a quick lunch for one in-between juggling appointments; a catch up with girlfriends; a business lunch; a dinner for two; take-away toasties for a car load of kids on the way to the footy and.... last weekend an 18th Birthday Party for 50+). The bottom line is that on each and every occasion the food has been consistently impressive, never a stumble (personal highlights have been the ravioli and the Scandinavian Salmon; the cooking and plating always presented to perfection). Ebony&Ivory offer a fresh, produce driven menu served in a relaxed environment that’s comfortable and elegant without any of the pomposity. There are so many different experiences to be had at the one venue; cocktails or coffees whilst reading the papers on the homely, comfy sofas in front of the roaring open fire (perfect for autumn and winter!); or a delightfully bright courtyard full of greenery and pops of colorful flowers with its own fire, marquee with fairy lights and that inner city urban feel - perfect for 18ths, 21sts & 30ths; or a more traditional dining experience indoors. The owner, Nini, has created a restaurant with a heart and soul where the meals are exceptional and the service from all staff is faultless. However, the greatest asset to Ebony&Ivory is Nini himself. As Host/Maître D’/Event Manager Nini is simply the best in his trade; Nini’s enthusiasm and commitment to ensure you (and your guests) have the best experience possible is genuine and heartfelt. Can not recommend Ebony&Ivory on Moorabool Street highly enough for ANY occasion.
