I have dined at Caruggi several times, it is in my top 10 restaurants in geelong cbd to grab dinner.
Each time I have received good service and the whole restaurant has had a lovely relaxed ambiance.
Unfortunately I have only had the pappardelle because it was just so delicious the first time!
Anyone I have dined with though has enjoyed a variety of other dishes! There is a great range of entrees or snacks to start, my personal favourite is their focaccia col formaggio, crispy salty and cheesey! Perfect!
Been a returning customer for a while now, I have to say I am inlove with their Focaccia Col Formaggio! It is such an authentic dish, it tastes beautiful, would recommend to everyone great to share. My favourite main and a classic Italian dish the Zuppa di pesce, which is always so tasty, always served with the freshest shell fish in a beautiful broth what a treat. The staff are always helpful and are great at recommending things! Recently discovered the chef started to make their own pansotti, which is to absolute die for, Extremly tasty ravioli with the famous Walnut sauce that Caruggi have executed perfectly. All in all it is lovely restaurant to dine in, has a delightful atmosphere, lovely service, and amazing Italian food. Highly recommend!!!! @Caruggi
Went here Tuesday 12th of Jan and had a beautiful meal with 5 others. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and received attentive, friendly service. I had the seafood salad starter which had perfectly cooked scallops, mussels, prawns and octopus tossed with a zingy and fresh tomato+green leafy salad. Hubby had the pumpkin truffle risotto which was truly delectable!! In laws had the ragu and the umbra pizza which had rich flavours without being too heavy. True Italian cuisine!! Brother in law had the tasty prosciutto pizza. Highly recommend this place - it is the best Italian restaurant in Geelong.
Spectacular. Wonderful food well presented by friendly staff. Absolutely fantastic buzz and atmosphere. Excellent value for the price. Cannot recommend more highly.

We popped in on Saturday night for a quick pre-show dinner. It was outstanding. The swordfish was truly the best I have tasted and we cannot wait to join you again for a slow dinner in the very near future. Your menu has so many dishes we all want to try and a very interesting wine list. The ambiance is first class and did much to remind us of a Europe we all miss. Thank you and well done.

The food is out of this world, and the service is amazingly good. Highly recommended!
We had the best night - my children were given an opportunity to come to a grown ups restaurant and behave well. They did and they enjoyed new foods. Our waiter Lockley was excellent - he made my kids feel welcome and my son had mussels and couldn't stop eating them - the bread off course was amazing and the wine was perfect - thanks all .
Just great, authentic Italian food. We recommend the white anchovies entree!!

The food was absolutely delicious, I had a pasta dish that was very fresh and definitely home made not store bought.
The service wasn't too bad,but certainly wasn't great either. The girl was fairly unfriendly to begin with and seemed snappy with us. She made an odd comment when I asked about a wine saying "you won't know or care what it is"
She also didn't seem to know what she was serving with my friends drink. We had cutlery at our table and then she came out with another set each for us and didnt ever take away any of it, we thought that was quite funny. The table was much too small for the amount of food we were having.
Once we were leaving she seemed a lot friendlier and asked us what we were doing later on etc. We thought maybe she was new there and possibly not fully trained.
The styling of frames on the wall is nice, the dessert table looks yum too.
The food was so good. You can split the bill thankfully too.
I'd recommend coming regardless of the unfriendly and slightly moody waitress.
