We're not locals and are only occasional visitors, but this place has never disappointed. Great food, very good coffee and excellent service. Can't wait to go back. It's also a place we take visiting friends to. Doesn't look fancy but we don't go for looks.
My wife and I love this bakery, the coffee is always decent, but we go there for the pastries. They are just fantastic. The only problem is you've got to get in early before they sell out. Otherwise, a must see place in Geelong, just get there before 3 to avoid disappointment
Byron's Vanilla Slice Blog

In one word: Morish.
I hadn't had the chance to sample a vanilla slice from Geelong, so when I found Le Fournil French Bakery I was keen to change that. At $5 it was a reasonably priced mille-feuille in comparison to other French style patisseries I've sampled. Then it made many others I've sampled look ordinary. The vanilla custard was divine and a gorgeous, smooth texture. The pastry was pretty good too; crisp and thin throughout. The icing was thin, with a reasonable texture, but not as sticky as I'd hoped. Overall, very morish and one of the best mille-feuilles I've tasted from a French style bakery.
Great patisserie and bakery. They do excellent croissants, pain au chocolate, almond croissants etc.
I agree with another reviewer that their excellent baked products aren't adequately backed up with decent coffee or ambience. But while I don't recommend it for a sit down meal, the food is still great.
I just wish they were open more often.
This bakery is heaven, amazing cakes and beautiful and fresh baguettes. Cannot fault it. Great service also.
Beautiful authentic baked French goods. Pies are the best I've ever had. The deserts are also incredible. Friendly service. Only problem is they aren't open on Monday or Tuesday but everyone needs a day off I guess.
I'm so glad this place exists as I can't seem to find anywhere else in Geelong that sells decent pastries to satisfy my sweet tooth! Love the gorgeous petit fours pastries.
Awesome bakery!. I've been visiting every sunday for the past few weeks, and I just can't fault them.
The coffee is great, and the ham and cheese croissant is the most awesome thing I've ever eaten.
The large selection of petit fours are delicious, and look fantastic.
The brioche is pretty good too. So glad I found this place!
If you want authentic tasting French bread and cakes without having to jet off to France, then this is the patisserie for you; but best to go early too as produce does sell out quite quickly. It's not overly expensive to shop here either. The coffee ☕ is tasty and comes from organically grown beans. A good place to get a little taste of France.
I’d been mostly disappointed with the pies in Geelong and Torquay, and then I hit this shop.
The pie holds together well, has a buttery flaky pastry, not dry at all, and the filling is rich and full of flavour.
Give them a go, not your typical pie
A great assortment of delicious and fresh desserts. Friendly staff. I’ll be back
A delightful family run business. It produces delicious cakes, a great range of breads, nice coffee and is staffed by very pleasant people who are very welcoming
Cute little french bakery, I love that they have mini options of escargot and croissants. The chocolate almond croissant is excellent. Mini sizes available for cakes too. The cheese straws are a must try!
The Rustic Buguettes are to die for! You can not find nicer bread in Geelong. The baguettes are on par with the bread in Paris. Keep up the great work guys, it's definitely worth travelling in from Lara every Saturday morning for!
The flavours were gorgeous, sizes where small and perfect, allows you to taste a few things without hurting yourself. ❤
