This cafe has been taken over by a new owner since the previous reviews (in 2017). There was a refurb last year to change the layout with an expanded kitchen so they can do more food in house. I have found the coffee has been consistently good every time and the service staff are friendly. The coffee is cheaper than anywhere on this end of the street (it has gone up a bit recently) and generally this is a good value for money place compared with the more expensive cafes and restaurants nearby.
The raw vegetable salad is great and can't go wrong with the toasted turkish. The interior has a relaxed buzz with decent background music. I like the outside pavement section when warm since there are tables under the tree shade, good for getting the Pako vibe.
So much potential.... I've been going to this deli for many years , and have always liked it. It seems to, however, have gone down hill over recent years which is a shame because the place has so much potential. You used to be able to go there and know you could come out with all the ingredients for a great dinner - you'd pay for it, but that's what happens in these little boutique places and customers accept that for convenience. Now the place just looks half done and a bit sad. The owners (I believe they're new) really need to tap into a need in the area - delicious, gourmet produce that's reliable. Many of us need a place after a long day at work that we can duck into and know that we'll come out with something tasty, quick and easy. It's not rocket science, is it???!!! I'm not going to vote that I don't like the place just yet, but sadly, like a lot of other folks about... I'm heading that way.
I've been going here for years and am yet to be served up a bad coffee. What a great reliable spot for a refuel and a read of the paper
