Good quality food with nice water view!
Enjoyed great good & attentive service in an old heritage cottage where Banjo Paterson once lived in. 🙂 My friend recommended Beef Bouguignon Pie & I wasn’t disappointed. Chunky beef pot pie with button mushrooms in a beautiful red wine gravy, topped with light & flaky puff pastry. The meat was tender & the gravy had a beautiful balance of red wine & umami taste. It was comforting & heavenly for this cold weather. I wished I had a bread roll to mop up all the gravy on the bottom of the bowl. 🙃
All other dishes were also fantastic. Loved the big Seared Scallops for the entree. They were big & cooked beautifully. Teriyaki Spatchcock was deboned & pressed, made it so easy to eat. It was tender with crispy skin. 🙂
There was supposed to be a lovely view over the Parramatta River but it was already dark at 6:30pm at dinner in wintertime. I have to go back again in Summer to enjoy beautiful view & sunset with beautiful food. 😌
We had 14 to lunch at Banjo Patersons yesterday, a surprise party for my husband's birthday. I without hesitation would highly recommend this establishment for a wonderful food experience. We had the Ala Carte Menu...everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals The Staff were totally amazing, Robert, Denise , Beverley & Chef...A million thanks, you all made sure that Nev had a fantastic surprise party, and the presentation perfect & so relaxing..Thank you..Anne Anderson
The staff here are always lovely and funny. I find the food nice but not amazing, they do classics. It's in a cute cottage with great views of the garden and water, so would be lovely during the day! I ordered the scallops for entree and beef for main. Both were tasty. My mum ordered the kangaroo which she found dry (it had no sauce), my dad enjoyed the snapper. They also have a separate vegetarian menu so it's good if you have any vegetarians with you! The Cherry cigar is the best dessert.
I came here for a dinner date with my husband. We both loved its historical ambience and I was delighted to get a spot against the frame of bromide of Waltzing Matilda real manuscript. We ordered herb breads as the entree, tenderloin of beef and cone bay barramundi as the mains, peach soufflé as the dessert and two glasses of Te-Aro Estate The Pump Jack Cabernet Sauvignon 2015. Herb breads of four were warm, buttery and soft. Tenderloin of beef was requested in medium rare and my husband enjoyed it. I loved my barramundi. It was perfectly cooked, crispy at the outside and juicy inside. Peach souffle was soft and nice, but its coconut gelato was too sweet for our tastebuds. The wine was smooth. The service was great. The waiter and waitresses were attentive and welcoming. We were amused when the waiter approached us in our home language by asking “Makan enak?” (Indonesian words for “Eat well?”). The cashier also explained the history of the building well and politely. It’s a well spent evening for both of us.
Went there for a birthday and the food was lovely! Had a good steak, and if you score a patio seat you will have a good view! Good place to try some food and experience a part if history. 👍🏻

This place has been on my bucket list for quite some time now. After driving past the sign so many times. A birthday dinner was the perfect excuse!
The restaurant has a real colonial charm to it, with exposed sandstone walls and old world charm.
We were seated in a smaller room of the restaurant with a single window that possessed the view of Parramatta river, watching the sun set.
The quality of the food is spectacular, and very filling. I think our eyes were bigger than our stomach.
For entree, we ordered seared scallop and cured salmon. For mains: was the beef tender loin and quail wrapped in proscuitto and dessert was a passionfruit souffle.
We walked out of the restaurant filled to the brim and very satisified with our meal. The service was at times a little slow but that was because they also had a wedding reception on and the restaurant was rather busy. All in all, the service was good.

ive never been here, but i libve really close and one time when i was in the park one of your friendly staff gave me free water, with ice cubes!! i always see weddings happening here, which is adorable. :)
A very romantic place for dinner with your better half. Arriving at sunset, taking a walk around the little bay overseeing all the light dots before dinner and that will make them feel special.
Staff was attentive and helpful.
Great location. Great view. Great food too.
A great evening with family and food. Waiter was also very entertaining with multiple jokes given throughout the night. Had the deboned spatchcock which was very moist and favoursome. Only criticism our coffees arrived after our dessert.
