Great food and service can't believe more people have not discovered this place
Great food, polite and efficient service.
Really tasty food. Lots of vegetables and fresh herbs. We had two salads, a pad Thai and rice. Not too spicy, just lots of different flavours all blended well
Years ago this was a sad little eatery, now it’s been shushed up and reinvented into a lovely local. And the diners have come to appreciate the food and service which are both terrific.
We ordered from Pimento Thai Cuisine last night and were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the vegetarian Penang curry and Pad Gra Pow and both dishes were delicious. The curry was not overly hot and the balance of flavours was perfect! Only thing was that the carrots overpowered all of the other vegetables... would have preferred more of the other veggies. Will definitely order again. 😊
The family booked a table here on Saturday night. As there were several of us we opted for the $28 banquet menu and were agreeably pleased with the choice! First was 2 beautiful plates of curry puffs,fish cakes,vegetarian spring rolls,prawns and other assortments-all beautifully presented and freshly made. Next followed the fluffy jasmine rice, massaman curry,larb gai,beef stir fry, fish -altogether 5 amazing meals for the main course to share. Finally came the ice cram which was coconut or mango and home made. We would recommend this restaurant for its good food,service and fair prices.It is also BYO or purchase drinks.
Nice atmosphere thai restaurant , we tried the veggie puff and it wasnt that nice very soggy , i had a very good lamb Massaman and an Ok soft shell crab , it nice but smell a bit ... i have had better in a vietnamese restaurant in footscray ...
Overall they dont have Papaya salad which was sad ...
I chose the 'Green Curry with vegetables ($12.90)'. My dining companion opted for the 'Massaman beef curry ($14.90)'. We also ordered some 'Steamed Rice ($2.50 per serve)'...
Ordered take away recently for dinner. I eat out a lot and I found the serving sizes and food in general to be good value for money. I ordered the Thai Green Chicken curry with rice which was flavoursome and contained an even amount of chicken and vegetables (some places skimp on the chicken). Will happily order again.
Delicious Thai food with good tasty flavours. The pad thai was great and the chicken curry puffs and steamed dumpling were amazing. We had takeaway and it was fast and fresh and really tasty. Will be using these guys again.
Really good Thai, a local for us so possibly a bit biased as we get a LOT of great Thai in Melbourne. These guys nail the classics for me though, green chicken curry - bangarang and spicy soft shell crab tower (pic) - bangarang!!! The usual Thai style menu but very good quality fresh food. I could potentially eat 100 of their Golden Bag Dumpling entrees if challenged. The lady partner loves the fact they have $2.50 glasses of red wine for eat in, gets a bit sloshed she does to be totally honest.
Pimento Thai is my favourite local Thai restaurant on Malvern Road.
Whether it be takeaway or dining in, I am always certain to enjoy the food. I have had nothing but positive experiences at this restaurant. The staff are always smiling and accommodating and the food is always cooked to my preferences, neither too hot nor lacking in flavour.
My favourite dish is the Massaman Beef with Coconut Rice. The beef is always tender and 'melt-in-your-mouth' and the sauce is consistently good every time I order it. The Pad Satay and Pad Nam-Mun Hoy are some of the healthy stir-fry offerings that are also worth mentioning.
The affordability of this restaurant is quite surprising when you take into account the quality of the food you're getting. I have recommended Pimento Thai to many people already, and will continue to do so.
Other than the semi slow service here, this restaurant was a hit with us. The food was so good, and the prices are so reasonable. It's got cute decor and beautiful presentation and dishes. The variety is the same as what you might expect at other Thai restaurants, but what we ordered was nicer than other places we've been to.
I don't love it when people that arrive after you and order after you, receive their meals before you, but with that asside ... I can't fault it here at all. The staff were friendly and did I mention the food was YUM?
Will definitely be coming back here again.
