The wonton noodle soup is my favourite. Chock full of veg and the broth is yum.
Decent option for simple noodle or rice dishes in Glenroy. Big portions and fresh food (the seafood options are good). Staff, especially the lady, are really friendly. The flavour is sometimes better than other times. Giving 4 stars as some options are not very authentic, eg the Tom Yum Soup is very sweet and not very sour. All in all pretty good.
My Key 3 Pointers
• Don’t judge a book by its cover,
• Large large portions this place should be listed in the best cheap eat guide,
• Fresh, Hot, Tasty,
I have been going here for 7 years, actually, I have never been inside or seen what it looks like. I’m fearful I won’t go back if your a visual person and a decor snob then just send your better half that will turn a blind eye. What I have seen is the food that comes back home and I’m always very satisfied. I often wonder why I don’t do takeaway from this place more often and try more from the menu.
I have only ever tried their noodles and it’s super fresh, lots of veggies and always arrives super hot. I always opt for seafood and I can’t believe the number of king prawns, they put other noodle shops to shame. Making noodles at home is simply not worth it, $13.80 and the portion size is large enough for two. For this price why share, just get your own.
I love how we always get a bag of free prawn crackers, very rare to get anything for free these days. My husband always comments on how lovely and friendly the staff are. If you a local try and if your passing through and need a quick grab and go then this is the place.
So I've lived in Glenroy for quite a while but used to travel for my Asian fix but not any more. I have been here several times now in the last few months. An absolute godsend when I've been sick, tired, or in need of a good take away for my kids. The kids love the rice dishes and noodles. My daughter and I usually share a Laksa and a noodle dish. Their beef noodles with pepper sauce is divine! Their seafood Laksa is my go to meal, full of seafood, heaps of fresh veggies, noodles, and made fresh to order every single time. The laksa broth is flavoursome and does not taste watered down like some other unfortunate experiences I've had. The other huge positive is the staff. Seems to be a family business where Mumma is usually front of house and eager to please her guests. She hands your order over with a huge smile and usually some prawn crackers too!! You can see that they genuinely want to please their customers. I wish them all the best :)
One of my favourite take away places!
Friendly, fast & fresh-
My favourites dishes include seafood curry laksa & Japanese dumplings (both pictured).
Highly recommend
Reliable, open late and super nice people! Eat here fairly often and have never had an issue! Would definitely recommend to anyone after a quick meal in the area.
The customer service was insane when I went today. It's a pumping takeaway store but they have tables so we could sit down and eat if we wanted, which we did. I ordered the Nasi goreng and the food came out so fast, but even better was that the food was SO GOOD. There was a generous amount of meat and and flavouring was not overpowering, but just right. Despite the hurricane of people walking through the door on a Saturday night, the staff were all smiling and so approachable, it left a lovely ambiance. I am so impressed with this takeaway store and will definitely be back!
"...I READ THE 6 REVIEWS..? ~ WHAT A DISCREPANCY..! ~ HEY, WE REALLY LOVED WHAT WE HAD...!!!
Tonight we ate Cantonese from GLENROY NOODLE & SUSHI BAR, Pascoe Vale Road, Glenroy...
I'm gonna be brief and direct...
1. Lovely friendly sincere people - Yes, a bit of a language prob.. but, they do a 'bloody good job' with communication, considering...
2. One of the BEST 'Special Fried Rice' we've had outside of Asia..
3. Delicious, fresh, clean tasting Asian food - beautifully cooked right in front of you..
4. Generous serves..
5. Fabulous value for money - Their 'Lemon Chicken' is just a little over $10 - We bought 3 x Large Dishes and 2 x Large Special Fried Rice for $49.90 - Heaps for the 4 of us - They threw in a bag of freshly cooked crisp 'Prawn Crackers'
6. They do Cantonese, some Japanese, some Malaysian - very very handy..
Can't wait to have it again...!!!
Visited on Sunday 17 Jan 2016 for take-away Dinner
I tend to order the Mongolian beef. But I should really try something different as the menu is quite large given that it's a relative small noodle shop. I'm not sure if the spring rolls are hand made in the shop but they're yummy.
