Review Nonna's - Gold Coast

Best Mediterranean salad in town. Seafood basket was tasty and servings generous but service slow despite few customers about. We felt neglected by having to wait too long for the menus which never came, and the male at the counter totally ignored us when we went to pay. We had to go to a different counter where a friendlier female staff processed our bill.

This place has really good food, but I found that the staff weren't as attentive as I have experienced in other restaurants. For example, when we were shown to our table, we were told we would be brought menus in a minute, but five minutes later we had to get up and find them ourselves. Aside from that small hiccup the only negative was the speaker system, through which I could only hear hi-hats and cymbals, as well as heavily muffled vocals. For non-musicians, this wouldn't be noticeable, but it ground my gears a bit. I understand that the music needs to be balanced in a way to allow for conversation, but surely there could be a better compromise than this? Wow I completely didn't intend to rant that much over such a minor issue, but honestly those were the only problems I had with this place. The serving sizes were generous, the food was extremely tasty (especially the Mediterranean salad - highly recommend getting it), and I had a pretty good time.

Could not fault this place. Friendly staff, lovely relaxing atmosphere with chill out music. The food was delicious too, generous and you can get a take away box if you can't finish it all, which we did utilise. Highly recommend this restaurant at Harbour Town Gold Coast.

We ate here whilst on holiday in the area. Very good pizza but the service was pretty slow. Our drinks were empty for a while before someone came round to ask if we wanted another one. Such a shame as the food was nice.

After trying Italian Pastas at various places in Queensland, I would say that Nonna's Alfredo Pasta is "One of the Best". Authentic taste & the lovely staff here is amazing. Spectacular service, & my utmost gratitude for the outstanding hospitality shown by Sam. Her welcome & customer service is above & beyond. *****Highly Recommended*****

COCKROACH IN FOOD !! DO NOT EAT HERE !! I ordered my food and a water i ate one of the arancini balls and started drinking water and realised there is a cockroach inside my water !!! All very young inexperienced waitresses mucking around having a laugh….. Maybe if the waitresses stopped dancing and mucking around and concentrated on what they are serving this kind of thing wouldn’t happen. I walked out without eating any of my order nor paying for it either. This is disgusting. I work in the food industry and this is not acceptable. A hair is even more acceptable but a bloody cockroach. I drank half of that water through a straw … I better not get sick.

Meal prices did not match quality, but I blame shopping centre lease for that. Chips were cold and salad was a confusing coleslaw and spinach leaves. Schnitzel was OK. Nothing to write home about. Wait staff lived up to the name.. made us wait, but food came reasonably quick once order made

I ordered flat white coffee and received half a cup of foam. I ordered corn fritters, but they lacked corn, tasted like egg fritters. Dish looked good, but not very tasty.

The shopping and food at Harbourtown are good. Often it is difficult to find a park. My husband and I were looking for a kitchen shop and went to the customer service desk (near converse) for assistance; not only were the 2 ladies attending the desk unhelpful, they did not even acknowledge we were there. No hello, or can I help you, in fact they did not even stop their personal conversation. We picked up a map and found the shop ourselves. Appalling 'customer service'.

So good we went back twice more! The free bus from the Gold Coast is perfect, as is the Tourism Lounge. Great bargains to be had, and shop staff were happy to point us to other stores if they couldn't help us. Nonna's does the best food, with Dom Dom's service there a highlight.

Got a great bargain at Rip Curl. Went into Coach wanting to buy a few items. The staff followed me around everywhere I went and made me feel like some sort of criminal. Quite disturbing and very disappointing. I would never ever set foot in that store again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

We love Harbour Town! Particularly during the winter when the sun is shining, and you can walk between the shops in the gorgeous sun lit days. We particularly like the bargains at the Nike shop on Sundays, awesome savings! Had a lovely coffee at Crema Expresso which was delicious.

Well worth a visit (or two) lots of bargains to be had. Free bus from Gold Coast is an excellent service. Would definitely recommend.

Fav place to shop... my regular shopping hub...some more baby/kid related shops would be awesome though, not just clothes but toys & highchairs, rockers etc...

Very hard to find a car park. My daughter bought an Iverson Jersey worth $90 from Intersport and within minutes someone has picked it up and taken it. She is very upset and saved hard to buy it. Thursday the 7th December. So wasn’t a very good experience.

Great place to shop for discounted clothes and shoes. Love shopping there when I'm on holidays.

Its a place where everything is there.. you can find everything you need with discounted price. One stop centre to just get everything before you ended your visit in Gold Coast

Enjoyed a great Merlo flat white at Harbour Town this afternoon. Double shot gave me the hit I was after & the coffee had good smooth flavors, without any bitterness. Happy attentive staff

Ordered a Schnitzel with chips slaw and gravy. 3 things near impossible to get wrong. Schnitzel seemed extra fried with oil dripping. Chips were lost definitely frozen ones from Woolies and slaw was the sweetest I ever had. <br/><br/>Staff was great though, super receptive to the feedback I gave immediately, hence the 2 stars.

My wife and I have been on holidays on the Gold Coast, we both really wanted to check out Nonna’s and came for a date night. Had a fantastic experience. Got nachos, buffalo wings and calamari. Everything was excellent and the service was polite, fun and very friendly. They made a relaxed environment with live music in the background. Fantastic.

Ordered pasta chicken, avocado and pumpkin (which was pretty good), grilled barramundi (unfortunately overcooked and the skin taste a bit like rubber), and kids meal.

On a recent trip to Oz from NZ, we were doing a walk by, trying to decide which eatery to lunch at,  a staff member was passing out samples for the BBQ Chicken pizza, it was yummy. We sat inside, 4 adults and 2 children. Staff were very friendly, the food we all had was awesome. Children's meals went down very well, especially dessert topped with candyfloss!<br/>Very busy place with over 15 staff working fast and efficiently. It was like a well oiled machine. Very well managed. I was pleasantly surprised with the overall experience and highly recommend it.

The garlic bread was crap, the pizza was NOT worth $25. The chicken schnitzel was a decent size but the supposed pepper gravy did not taste like pepper and it had white lumpy bits in it. The cost was $75, the same as the meal we had a couple of nights ago at Hard Rock Cafe (which was 10 times better). Would definitely NOT eat here again!!!!!!

Very generous servings which are full of flavour. Nicely decorated restaurant with gray customer service. Wait time was about 15mins for the meals. Highly recommend trying them out.

Massive menu, nice atmosphere and lovely, attentive staff. Portion sizes large but prices reflect this. Risotto not al dente but enjoyable anyway. They don't really offer dessert options - but you probably won't have room for it anyway! We really enjoyed it here.

We visited for some dinner. It was a ginormous menu and I had a hard time deciding what to get. <br/><br/>The food was yummy but the meal was too big for me I couldn't eat it all.<br/><br/>The service was great and it was super busy.<br/><br/>I wish is had room for the giant fairy floss tower.

Had the prawn chilli penne <br/>It's not what I had imagined I thought whole cherry tomatoes lots of chilli and strong garlic <br/>This was a simmered tomato chilli sauce . It was still nice . The server heard I wasn't exactly excited and offered to help in anyway she could . She then sent her manager over who was checking to see if I liked it . I gave my opinion and he wanted to offer me another dish or do anything to make me happy . Although I refused I was really impressed they cared so much of their diners views . They didn't judge me and have been really good with service . I didn't have to wait for drinks they were busy but always checked on me (even before my comment). The cheesy garlic bread was nice . My daughters nuggets were piping hot . They had colouring sheets and pencils for the kids menus which my daughter loved . Staff seemed happy not depressed like you see in some restaurants. The BBQ pizza I sampled originally was amazing so I'll order that next time.

Tried this place the other day. Good attentive service by the staff. I had the worlds best burger and if was good. Loved the cheese but maybe some salad thrown in. <br/>My mate had the carbonara and enjoyed that including the portion size.<br/>Chips were crispy and combed well and we ordered the gravy and great to see a good portion of gravy to accompany the chips.

Always popular, the recent renovation will make it even more so...Nonna’s is intent on filling those appetites. From its kitchens come 600g steaks, metre-long pizzas, doorstop parmigiana and schnitzel and 3-foot-high fairy floss. For us, though, nothing beats Nonna’s ribs. Succulently tender and dripping with smoky sauce, they fall off the bone. Served on large platters, each dish is topped up with chips and slaw or salad, ensuring that no one will ever be hungry again! The Mediterranean salad also makes a pretty picture, served in a giant tortilla bowl.Top in the value stakes is the Nonna’s brekkie. Scrambled eggs and lashings of bacon served with Turkish toast for under $5? You’ve got to be kidding, we thought, but it’s a mighty fine brekkie which the locals love. Add your ‘bits’ for a dollar or so here and there if you wish.

Lovely vibe to the place the food was very nice we went in for dinner, staff was very lovely very attentive always checking up on us to see how we were and how our meals was and if we needed anything else, being that it is set out in harbour town you wouldn't think that it's in an shopping outlet centre, the ambience was very good for they had a live band and the music was really good, highly recommended this place

We popped into this place randomly, not expecting too much and were pleasantly surprised.<br/><br/>The staff were friendly and attentive, seating us quickly and explained the menu carefully.<br/><br/>Our garlic bread came out quickly, was crispy with a nice buttery taste. Our mains arrived later at the same time. A creamy chowder that was too generous to finish and a prawn risotto that was packed with large prawns. <br/><br/>I would certainly come again next time I'm in harbour town.

A surprising place! I had never tried the food here, assuming it would be a bit on the "sad generic faux-Italian" side, but actually they offer a really nice range of food. I shared a couple pizzas with family and all were absolutely delicious, well cooked and laden with tasty toppings. Will definitely eat here again, service was friendly and well paced for the evening.

Amazing breakfast and even better hospitality! The scrambled eggs were so amazing and it was probably one of the best breakfast we've had! Loved this place and definitely coming back again!!

Do not order the chicken schnitzel. I have seen people leave their schnitzel plates the way I did. Why? Because it tasted like soap! <br/>That is all, thank you.

I will always remember this place (and crave their food). Quite fattening, if you think of it, but it's totally worth the spontaneity and calories consumed. Crazy NACHOS pizza that I constantly crave. Their mediterranean salad is also remarkable and embraced in a tortilla-chip-bowl. And just when you think you're done, waitresses give you a coupon to enjoy a candy shop adjacent to the restaurant!

Service was good but food was terrible and over priced. The steak was full of gristle and swimming in its own juice on the plate. Won't be coming back here again and would not recommend it to any one.

Sorry but the steak was tough even though cooked medium rare. No restraints for the high chairs which is a nightmare when a child keeps wanting to get out and does. Terrible seating, crammed in with everyone pushing past the high chair. Service was good at start then slacked off badly. ☹️

Just eaten lunch here absolute crap meal. We ordered 2fish plates ?snapper. Well the fish on both plates definately not snapper. Fish was strong fish smell. Ordered chicken pammas well breast chicken had all blood sections and premade. Very disappointed management seemed not concerned.

Held a small staff function at Nonna's at Harbourtown. Very efficient and friendly service at a good price (the company was paying). Unbelievable choice with at least three menus to choose from. If you're shouting staff or like choice, check it out.

Good service but the food is ridiculously overpriced for what you get. Also the menu doesn't have a lot of options and the entrees are the same price as main dishes at other restaurants.

Had Breakfast at Nonna's today. Came for breakfast at Nonna's for the first time today. Having been brought up in the Hotel Business as my parents had either hotels or restaurants, I am a little spoilt. I really enjoyed seeing the waitresses smiling faces and dress up's for Valentine's. The service was friendly and fast, the food was awesome, thank you. <br/>The only part I did notice was a couple of supervisor's standing in front of the middle section and openly discussing staff whilst watching them work. After what was obvious talking about some of the workers and whatever they thought was wrong, the smaller lady approached one and later on a couple of other staff and it was obvious with her body language and hand waving, as well as eyes rolling, that she was giving the staff certain instructions, which I could tell made all of them kind of embarrassed. I don't think this sort of thing should happen in front of your guests, but somewhere inside your restaurant area, privately and not privvy to the guest's view. <br/>May I also say, that every one of those workers approached and reproached, although no doubt feeling uneasy, gave her/them smiles and nods and quite obviously did whatever she told them to do. It is important that guests enjoy their time at your restaurant without seeing uncomfortable "talks", so I thought I would mention this to you, the owners of Nonna's. <br/>Supervisor or not, those two "supervisors" were the only ones that "rolled their eyes" , gesturing and pointing and / or "looked down on their staff, all of whom were working hard by the way. <br/>If one wants to have a successful business, one has to "look after" their staff, I'm, sure you agree. It's supposed to be "Team Work" ! Happy Staff means success in my mind. Supervisors should remember their time as "waitresses" or other less important stations/jobs in their life so that they may remember how hard it was when they first started. <br/>People have become much more "demanding" whilst out and about and it was the waitresses that were "fresh, smiling, hard working", not the Supervisors, who get to stand around "watching" the workers!<br/>Sometimes "showing" the waitresses how it should be done, if there is a mistake or something they dislike, would be a lot more of a "learning time" then telling people off in front of customers. <br/>I also saw what seemed to be the Owners, actually carrying food to tables, helping out where it was needed, this was awesome to see! I did not see those two Supervisors doing anything like that (We were there for an hour) except for maybe bringing menus to a couple of tables and talking to people they seemed to know, or talking with each other. <br/>Other then that we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Nonna's and will return another time. My mum and I went there for lunch today and the service we received was wonderful! All the girls were very helpful and on the ball. Coffee was so delicious!! Food came quick and was tasty! Really happy with our lunch choice for the day! :-)

Don't waste your money or time. Went with high expectations but was seriously disappointed. Lasagne is a staple Italian plate but it was terrible. More staff than patrons but we're waiting for service some how. Sweet chilli sauce from a bottle is not acceptable as a pasta sauce. More in common with what America classes as Italian food than actual Italian cuisine. My opinion, I've had better fasta pasta dishes and there's one just up the way from there too!!!

Went during a very busy period and the service was excellent. I had baked salmon (excellent), my sister had a gluten free pizza and was very impressed. Drink sizes are massive. Overall good experience.

Great service which is hard to find these days. The kitchen was for impressive also able to dish up within 10 min during peak hour.

HORRIBLE. Our food was bland and it took way over half an hour to get to us! Our waitress checked up on our food a few times and was very apologetic. Wasn't her fault. Then management came out to see us and she was horrible! Ruined everything for us, the way she spoke to me was disgusting. The service was excellent. But the management was terrible.

Well, we were very disappointed with our breakfast at Nonna's Steakhouse. <br/>Firstly the earl tea was just a old tea bag that tasted like soap. The meals were obviously not fresh and the sauce for the eggs Benedict was terrible. The coffee was super duper well done. <br/>The service was fantastic though and made us feel very welcomed. Maybe that's to cover the terrible food..

Very nice: I had breakfast on last Thursday, with in 4 min my breakfast was infront of me and it was amazing, after shopping I did lunch steak with topper was just mind blowing, thanks guys I will cu soon

Good service, lacklustre food. Ok, despite what others have said about the service, it has definitely improved.<br/><br/>The food is quite pricy for Gold Coast, however, the serving size of dishes are quite large. They are very generous with fillers such as chips, salad, and bread.<br/><br/>Nevertheless, the quantity does not compensate for the quality. There are far better options within a 20 minute drive.

Amazing. I took my siblings to Nonnas, we loved the experience from the live music to the great smiling service from the girls to the great quality food ! <br/>We were looked after from the minute we were greeted to the second we left. Great girls, great service, amazing experience !

Nacho Pizza!. Nonna's provided fast and quality table service by their lovely waitresses who never missed a beat. If you love pizza and you love nachos then this is the place to eat, especially when they've combined the two into one meal, a nacho pizza! This restaurant has a special vibe about them and I will definitely be coming back regularly :)

Went here for lunch today with my husband. He had the chicken parmigiana which he didn't like. It lasted like had been reheated and the sauce was basically just like tomato paste. I had the chicken melt. It was nice chicken, avocado and cheese but it was on top of toast which was bizarre and not great. The service was good though. We won't be back due to the food not justifying the high price.

APPALLING SERVICE! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. My mum and I were waiting to be served, after being seated our waiter told us that once we were ready to order someone would come and serve us. We had reluctantly chose a few items that were very overpriced. Trying to get the numerous waiters around us to serve us was a nightmare! There was a waiter facing our direction who stood there holding menus. After making eye contact with numerous waiters and waving to signal we were ready to order they all looked away. As a waiter ran past I quickly asked her if we could finally order and she cut me off saying they'll get someone. After waiting another 5 minutes we decided to leave as our waiter approached us. Told her we were unhappy everyone ignored us and we were leaving to eat elsewhere and she said "ok then" NO APOLOGY whatsoever. absolutely pathetic and disgusting.

It was absolutely awful. For the food you get it is not worth a penny! And don't bother to order any wine I wouldn't even call them wines. Just to drink the tap water to end up happier. Awful experience

This place has the best pizza and pasta I've had on the Gold Coast hands down!

Don't try the rump steak!! Yuk. I was served a piece of meat older than me and it tasted like eating metal. You know that weird feeling when you like a battery, that's what it tasted like. Apart from that I have been there a few time and generally the food is ok. For the quality it's probably just a little pricey. 2.5 stars out of 5

AVOID WORST EVER. Nonna's has the dubious honour of being the worst dining experience of my life!<br/><br/>The service was absolutely apaling, and management lets not go there.<br/><br/>I have never ever seen a restaurant blame the customer for a staff members mistake, or gather around about 5 staff around my wife and child and start yelling at her and my child, for their mistake, really bad form.<br/><br/>so please avoid Nonna's, dining out is supposed to leave you happy, not in tears.<br/><br/>AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Over priced. Staff were overly pleasant and eager to get myself and my husband seated. Once we were seated, the eagerness dwindled and we found ourselves waiting to make an order and for our order to come out. Food here is average, nothing more special than going to your local tavern so not sure why the menu is priced so high. I found the 3 different menus a little over bearing. Quantity is good but I suppose it should be for the amount that you pay.

Had chips with the strangest moat unpleasant gravy with congealed lumps in it

Staff were very kind and had excellent service. We ordered salmon steak, seafood risotto and chicken + avocado + pumpkin pasta. All were delicious! A must on the dining bucket list!

Terrible! Both my husband and I got sick after eating the seafood there today!!!

Terrible!!! Worst experience ever!. THIS PLACE WAS TERRIBLE!! Worst service I have ever had to experience on the Gold Coast. Over priced and the food was horrible! When I tried to complain about the poor quality food, the manager responded by YELLING at me in front of other customers. Never again.

Very very good. Went to Harbour Town Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast for some shopping and came across Nonna's for lunch.<br/>There are 4 separate menus for Nonna's, but you can sit in any section and order from any menu.<br/>They have Italian, seafood and steakhouse.<br/>After eventually settling on the Hawaiian pizza (yes, I'm boring), we waited about 15 minutes until our meals came out.<br/>The pizza was of medium size, and was cut into 4 large slices.<br/>The topping was delicious, and very generous. The dough was lite and tasty, while it wasn't greasy at all.<br/>The rest of our gang had chicken dishes which also impressed.<br/>I'd definitely recommend stopping by Nonna's for lunch if you're shopping at Harbour Town.

All pizzas served here are 8 inches in size, are homemade and can be served either in pizza base or a calzone.. Gluten Free pizzas are also available..
