Have been eating this restaurant for as long as I can remember. Food is always excellent, one of the most consistent restaurants for quality.
The owner is amazing and the food just as good! We go out of our way to get here.
Food wise the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne. I have eaten in Indian restaurants all around Australia and different parts of the world and this is one of the best. Great food at very reasonable prices. Great service and very friendly staff. The owner is a real character.
The food and service is excellent. The owner has a great sense of humour and the prices are extremely good.
Don't miss out on this restaurant, as it is worth a try. We try to get there when we can.
Our family and friends love this place.
Hubby and I ended up here last Sunday after a very busy day. Our 5 year old was attracted by the smell and we loved the food.
The butter chicken was the best we have had in years, the korma was delicious, the biriyani was divine.
If you like Indian, you will LOVE Cafe Spice.
If you want to have best indian food. I highly recommend to go this place.staff was very friendly and i love briyani here and naan breads are very soft and perfectly cooked i like eating naan bread with chicken curry and you can get curries depend on your taste as mild, medium, hot. So why late of reading just reviews just go there and have it and you always like to go there .😋
Have been here many times and have enjoyed every experience! The food was lovely every time and the owner is very charismatic, caring and will talk with anyone. Would recommend to anyone in the area!
We had dinner here on Saturday night after watching a movie at Greensborough Plaza. The positive reviews is what brought us here.
Almost every table was occupied though service was still polite and quick! We ordered the following:
1. Lamb tandoor cutlets (which comes out on a sizzling plate) - cooked well and full of flavour
2. Vindaloo Beef - this curry was delicious, we also ordered it as hot, it was just spicy (perhaps we have a higher tolerance)
3. Tandoor Naan - pretty good! Not too oily or burnt, cooked well :)
Would come back even though it's 20 minutes away. Unfortunately no photos for this review because I was Starvin Marvin!
Great quality Indian. Have ordered takeaway several times and it is now our default, despite being a 15 min drive away. Haven't yet had a dish that wasn't great. Keep it up, we need good Indian in the area!
My partner and I were looking for a good Indian place within Melbourne for us to frequent, and I think we've found it. The owner (I presume) greeted us as we entered, and was not only polite, but also very amicable. He'd come around to the tables, inquire about the food, and wouldn't be above joking with the customers or having a little chat with them. It was obvious that the other people present were returning customers, and the owner and atmosphere definitely seems like one where the customers are remembered. Which is a big plus, in my book.Service was friendly and fast, and we didn't have to wait long for the food to start coming. It's worth noting that we were there on what was a rather quiet Wednesday night, so I can't comment on how the service holds up when things get busy. The food was really, really good. We ordered onion bahji to share for the entree, butter chicken and lamb korma for the mains, and naan to accompany it, of course. The onion bahji was served with what I believe was a yogurt sort of sauce (I'm no expert) and a sweet sauce which the staff recommended. Both were really tasty and complimented the bahji really well.As for mains, the butter chicken was incredible. I haven't had a lot of Indian food before, but my partner (who has had quite a lot of curries, and is a total foodie) said it was the best butter chicken she'd ever had, and that wouldn't surprise me because it was sooo good. It was incredibly flavorful and tasted phenomenal. The lamb korma was also great, but the butter chicken was an absolute 10/10 and it's going to be hard to try other things when I know it's just so so good. The naan was also great, but well, it's naan. Come on. Naan is always really, really good. It's also worth noting that the prices also felt very reasonable for the portions we received. Absolutely no qualms with the menu or pricing.Overall, we had a really nice night and a lovely meal. We'll definitely be returning, so consider this a hearty recommendation. PS: Also, for people thinking about trying out Cafe Spice (which I obviously recommend), make sure you close the door very firmly. It doesn't like shutting properly, much to the owners chagrin. :)
