We were invited along to Jezebelle in Guildford to try out their menu which while still in the tapas style has a number of new or changed dishes on the list. It is right in the heart of the James Street strip in an old restored building just across the road from hamburger joint, Alfred’s Kitchen.
Loved the dishes and coffee. Stopped by on the way to swan valley wineries, the Spanish influence certainly shone through with the corn fritters. Fritters were gf, guacamole was slurpalicious, salsa the right amount of tangy and tart- highly recommend. french toast wasn't too shabby as well. They do dimmi redemption at brekky too.
Spanish high tea on a coupon.
It was. Delicious.
The churros and caramel sauce for the win... plus the truffle donuts mmmmmmm... and the creme caramel ....drooooool.
Scones were a bit too dense but still quite nice.
Staff and atmosphere was so lovely.... defs going back for tapas!
We love Jezebelle and happily recommend this restaurant, but when it comes to special occasions (Valentines, Mother’s & Father’s Day) the standard we set, drops a notch. Is it due to the busyness on these days? Not sure?
have only been here for high tea, but given we’ve been 3 times now, that must mean it’s pretty good! love that they include 2 of their signature hot tapas items, the truffled mushroom donut and the prawn and chorizo paella balls, and that it includes a glass of champagne and you can also order a barista coffee if you don’t want tea!
service has always been really lovely and helpful.
now i always keep an eye out for groupons for this!
We were slightly sceptical about how dinner would go, as the food came out before our drinks did. Luckily, once we got into the food all was forgiven! We ordered the paella balls, calameres, pork belly and a warm salad. The portions were more than generous, and everything was tasty and well balanced (which is hard to find in Perth!). The only minor negative was that we found the jug of sangria to be a little overpriced for the quantity, although it was delicious.
Definitely some interesting food at this restaurant.
Highly recommend the Jezebelle Platter - it has a very nice mix of Tapas.
We loved the Patatas Bravas - great portion. But both the Tostadas w Zucchini & Lemon Fetta and the Calamares had odd flavours that we weren't a fan off. But having said that, there's definitely nothing "standard" about the food here.
It's a nice and quiet venue with mood lighting perfect for a romantic dinner.
Came here for dinner with a Groupon voucher, which was great value. The ambience and decor was nice and inviting. Service was professional and efficient.
All the tapas we tried was really tasty. I'm not a huge fan of pork belly but I really enjoyed it, great flavour.
The house shiraz offered with the Groupon was really nice. We ordered the potato bravas as an extra and they weren't great more like wedges with dipping sauces.
But overall a really nice dinner. They also do $10 cocktails on a wed/thurs so that's a bonus.
Had Sunday morning breakfast here in group of six. The food was very good although portions could have been larger.
All-round we had a very good experience and the service was good. 🙂
We don't come to the area that often so we decided to give it a go. The place is quite cosy and intimate so this is a good place for you to hang out with a few friends, share a few drinks and tapas food. The drinks are reasonably priced and good. We tried a few dishes like the chicken which we think it's quite nice and refreshing. The garlic prawn has quite a good flavour to it and we can taste that the prawns are fresh. The pork belly as well as the beef cheek was cooked perfectly hence why the meat were soft and tender. The good ambience and the food really brings the life to this place and even though it is quite a tucked away restaurant, they are quite unique in a way. So if you are in the area, you should definitely give Jezebelle a try!
Nice High Tea and friendly service. The selection was good and there was no problem to provide a vegetarian option. Prefer a little more savoury than sweet.
The restaurant was fairly quiet which meant fast service. The waiter that served us was lovely, and even gave the birthday girl a free desert with a candle on top! The food was lovely and the quantity was good, however the beef was a little tough and some items are overpriced. The ambiance could have been improved with music, and the bathrooms need better lighting. Overall, I recommend Jezebelle!
Love the decor, very jazzy feel with friendly staff and great vibes. Any dish with the guacamole was a big hit and the dirty chai was delightful. Only negative comment is that they promoted a glass of sparkling with the first 30 or so to book so we were more inclined to book here since the mothers love a glass or sparkling! However we were disappointed to discover it was ONE glass per table which was a mimosa (half sparkling, half orange juice) for our table of 12 who I'm sure spent enough to deserve a glass of complimentary bubbly for the mum's at least.
We went here on a Thursday which meant it was $10 cocktail night, they had an excellent selection of cocktails which were all well made. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, would highly recommend the pork belly. Great selection of Gluten free too,
Showing a mate around from Melbourne and popped in here after a visit to the swan valley. Bruschetta was nice and refreshing for a warm day, would prefer a garlic bread base but none the less still very tasty. Chorizo was good but the portion size is small, it's under the tapas menu but you couldn't share that small of a plate. Lamb burger and roughly cut potato wedges.. they were great, with that aioli I could have eaten all 3 serves. The burger was very tasty but had a hint of dryness, not sure if it was because of the bun or maybe it's a tad too thick the pattie? The sangria was also pretty decent. Will be back again at some stage
Perfect Sunday dinner with family. We had the Groupon tapas deal. Service is great, every tapas course was perfect. Ambience is great too!!
Great food and excellent service. Went here with the family last week, Never disappointed eating at this restaurant. Thank you for a great time
Staff are really friendly and pretty amazing food. A little gem in Guildford. Can't wait to come back & try their breakfast menu. Beautiful decor, a really nice place for family gathering, date or even a function.
Have had a couple of really great weekend lunches here. Food is always good, drinks are reasonable and the staff are lovely. Can get busy on the weekend and the bill can get a bit out of hand if you aren't paying attention. Recommended.
Nice atmosphere, very attentive service although one waitress clearly new and nervous pouring wine.
Food is good, not the absolute best but good enough and the price total a little expensive.
The bar is clearly raised these days, so to stand out you need to go above and beyond.
The restaurant has a comfortable and cosy ambience with outdoor dining available. Service is friendly and down to earth. The tapas style makes the meals exciting, though quite pricey. Overall a pleasant experience.
Full on the saturday night, might wanna book if there's a large group. Very professional service and a sophisticated ambience. We got the kahlua hot chocolate and the argentinian beer, can't recall the name, both great drinks. We found the potato wedges okay, a bit bland but good with the garlic aioli. The prawn tacos with guac and salsa were juicy, full of flavour and delicious, just quite pricey for $8.50 a piece. The night special pork croquettes were yummy, as well as the pesto dipping sauce that came with it. Would receive a higher rating if not for the price/small portions!
My husband and I stumbled across Jezebelle one night when the line at Alfred's was phenomenally long! The blackboard out the front read "$10 sangria on Wednesday's" so it was a bit of a no-brainer ;) we were welcomed by the friendliest staff and the food was so good we kept ordering more plates! Unfortunately our eyes were bigger than our stomachs and we couldn't finish it all but it was such a great and memorable night :)
We visited Jezebelle for breakfast and started with some excellent coffee. Very pleased that they offer almond milk and it was a good strength.
For breakfast my husband had the big breakfast which was tasty. The homemade baked beans were very good and all elements were tasty. I had smashed avocado on gluten free bread with poached egg and added smoked salmon. It was tasty but tiny! Good amount of salmon for $5 but just one egg and teensy toast. I was slightly disappointed. Also I switched my sourdough toast for gluten free bread but the menu didn't state it would cost extra. I know it usually does however I like menus to say the cost upfront.
I liked Jezebelle but thought my breakfast was a tad too small for the price.
Such a stunning restaurant and bar perfect for special occasions. Not yet been for breakfast but the lunch and dinner tapas menu is to die for! On our last visit we went with the Mushroom Croquette's with Pea Purée - mmm! Flavour explosion. We also tried the Spanish Ham Quesadilla - another winner. I will totally be back for brunch!
I feel so guilty that I forgot to review our lovely breakfast experience when we went 2 weeks ago! So here I go.
This is our second visit back to this lovely trendy establishment. And I'm so glad we returned.
Firstly the service is fantastic and very attentive, regardless that the eggs Benedict was forgotten, it was immediately rectified. Our waiter had the best flat top hair and some pretty awesome eyebrows too, let alone how thorough he was.
I had the smashed avo on sourdough with a poached egg. Perfectly poached egg and the flavours were perfectly balanced between creamy and sour. My only problem was I wanted more! But usually I don't like to be overwhelmed by a massive plate of food so it was perfect. I was just extra hungry on the day!
The cappuccino was delicious and we love the Michael Bros orange juice they serve, it always tastes like an orange fresh picked off the tree.
OldMate Had the Benedict, from what I tasted was perfect aswell, the Jamon ham is delicious and the hollandaise was just the right amount.
We shared the special of french toasted banana bread with berries as a breakfast "dessert". Oh. My. God. Really thick cut bread and richly soaked in happy eggs and refreshing berries.
We love this place and can't wait to come back again. Highly recommend it for breakfast. Haven't tried the lunch yet but the menu reads well.
I also recommend reading my dining partner's review. He's much funnier than myself!
Myself and DoubleKickChick just hit one of our favorite spots in Perth for a late breakfast after a BIG night...
It was 36 degrees outside and the first plus of Jezebelle was the air conditioning, followed immediately by a warm greeting from that fresh dude with the flyest flat-top.
We were seated and drinks served within 5 minutes. With potential hangovers looming, we couldn't wait much longer for the Michael Bros orange juice and beautiful coffees.
Our order was taken and served swiftly. My girl had the smashed avocado and poached egg on sourdough. It look light, fresh and damn tasty.
I stuck with my standard go-to brekky favorite of eggs Benedict which did come late. This was not an issue as it was worth the wait. The hollandaise sauce was faultless and the jamón was the perfect change from others using ham.
We ordered the banana bread French toast with berries and maple syrup to share. We only just got through it.
After another delicious orange juice we sat and admired the music, décor, service and the amazing lunch menu.
We will return. Again and again.
Only problem is that breakfast is so filling and delicious, I'm not sure I need lunch. Or dinner. Ever again. Unless it's at Jezebelle.
Delicious!!
Amazing tapas style food. Fabulous service!! The calamari, the bola de paella and the pork belly are must haves. We will definitely be back again soon!
Fast becoming one of our favourite 'locals', this place is lovely in the little shaded courtyard area in particular.
The tapas style food has always been tasty and the portions suit our modest appetites, allowing us room to sample a few options.
Go on a sunny afternoon or grab a light meal with drinks.
Date night dinner and couldn't fault anything, the food was lovely and filling, the setting is gorgeous and private. Out waiter was so attentive. Will Def go back.
Old Guildford town has undergone a transformation over recent years, and the places for foodies to explore continue to grow. Jezebelles has been created out of an old bank building and brings a touch of funkiness amid the cottages and heritage decor. Meeting up with a small group of friends on a lazy Sunday afternoon is the perfect time to enjoy the Jezebelle offerings. With a jazz duo playing at the rear of the venue, sun streaming through the windows and comfy chairs to park yourselves in, you get to ruminating that life is pretty darn good. Add a $10 glass of sangria to the mix and all’s right with the world.
We were craving some really good tapas - being a Spanish restaurant where better to go! We arrived just before 2pm and it was reasonably busy considering it's a pretty late time to each lunch. We immediately noticed the decor and setting of the restaurant, it's beautifully lit (mostly with natural light at that time of day) and these incredibly comfortable chairs. Something we've never really noticed, chairs! They were so comfy, super big and cushiony. Okay enough chair talk, let's move onto the most important part - THE FOOD! We ordered six tapas dishes, yes as many as six! The dishes came out within roughly a 5 minute gap of each other which we think is really suitable. By the time you've finished one dish, the next is just about to arrive. When it comes to tapas we prefer it to be less separated than if we were having an entree and main for example. (dishes in order they arrived to the table). We accompanied our tapas with a bottle of Rekorderlig, strawberry and lime flavour. We started of with
Just look at how many reviews this place has had. So frequent. This was a great dining experience with good service and great food. They are in the Gold Entertainment Book and as we were two couples they let us both use our card for a great discount. We'll be back... Discount or not. Great little find for us.
Another Great Meal. Have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The food, service and atmosphere are all excellent. We went with another couple and were able to choose a good variety between us. Not one of the dishes we chose was a disappointment. Have been before and will definitely come again.
Great lunch. Love the food. The Paella ball, Tiger Prawn Tacos, Summer salad, Potato chips was delicious . Finish off with Spanish Churros. Got to be the BEST churros I've ever tasted. Try it.
Love the food. Great service and hot waiters :p
Can't wait to go back!. This is a hidden little gem that we have driven past loads of times but never bothered to check it out. I think its outward appearance lets it down, we were very pleasantly surprised upon entering and were greeted and seated fast by a very friendly waitress. Inside is AMAZING, very funky. The menu is quite extensive for tapas, we started with oysters which were fresh and delcious, the jaffle salami sandwich which was seriously delicious, I did not want that to end, the spanish potato chips which are like round, flat wedges only better which came with a salsa sauce, then we had the fish tacos which were also delish, the fish was very fresh, we finished off our mains with the stuffed peppers which were ok but I probably wouldn't get again only because there was so many other things I wanted to try, the prawn and cuttlefish risotto was ordered by the table next door and OH MY GOD, that looked amazing.. we finished with what im going to say were better churros than San Churros.. huge portion, fluffy and amaze with a milk chocolate dipping sauce and the lava cake with honeycomb and ice-cream. Everything we had was so good and we will definitely be back. The wine list is good also and my friends tried the cocktails which they said were really good too and the white hot chocolate which was to die for. Basically everyting was amazing and anyone reading this should definitely check it out, they are in the entertainment book too for 25% off the total bill :-)))
Good friendly staff, churro's are the best I've ever had! Tapa's is a bit limited but what they serve they serve well. Will go back :)
Lovely!. Wonderful food, enjoyed the Italian waiter's service. Pork belly and dick salad is a must have! Good cocktails too
A great little place. Not the cheapest but it's good food and not run of the mill tapas. Good wine menu and attentive service.
Always a winner!. The service here is always good! Happy, friendly, helpful staff make such a difference to your dinning experience.
Love the food! never seems to dissapoint. I have been here for Breakfast and tapas dinner, it is always a hit!
Never disappoints.. Great food (tapas), good cocktails, great wine. Good service and just love the funky interior. We keep going back. I have been to Jezebele a few times now and each time it never disappoints. Food was delicious, service was great and wine great and the Cosmo was good too. The only small complaint. The servings have gotten so much smaller. We had the Frito - goats cheese fitters, there were only 2 and I really think there should have been 4 , they were very small. Most of the other tapas that was served had at least four (my partner has a seafood allergy so some of those we could not eat but there are plenty of other choices) and the pork belly which was cooked to perfection, we got 2 pieces and they were of two completely different sizes, one small and one very large. The Tarta De Chocolate scrumptious but not sure about the apple in the "mixed berry" but overall it was great as always. Will definitely return.
Best coffee, food, staff and atmosphere!. Always the best service, provided with an enthusiastic greeting and fantastic coffee and food to accompany! my girlfriend and I end up there up to twice a week (at least once) every weekend for breakfast and are always impressed! They remember my order, know exactly how many coffees i need/want and always keep the table water topped up whilst offering other drinks.
Their staff are fantastic and we're looking forward to many breakfasts for years to come!
Thanks -Kelvin and Amara
Excellent. We popped into Jezebelle for a quick Sunday bite as we had an afternoon planned in the Swan Valley. Once seated we ordered 2-3 dishes and were going to be on our way. However, once the food came out and the musical duo started, we were in heaven! The TOSTA ESCALIVADA and the BOLA DE PAELLA were excellent so we ended up order drinks and more tapas and staying a lot longer then expected. Well done - we will definitely be back :)
Beautiful. Lovely place, have been there for breakfast and lunch now. Breakfast was great (I had the hash brown, was lovely though I think the dish would be improved with warm salmon instead of a block of cold smoked salmon) , coffee was perfect, and service on a Sunday morning was very attentive and friendly. When I went for lunch we had the tapas, it was great. I would definitely recommend to anyone, its a little pricey but definitely worth it.
OK, nothing outstanding. Went there with 3 friends Sat night. Ambience is nice, service was excellent. Food was good but as usual with any tapas place in Perth the portions were small. Labelling the food 'tapas' is just another way to charge premium prices for tiny portions. The pork belly was a prime example, it was nice and tasty but $24 for just 2 small slithers of pork belly (nothing else) is farcical. Would I return? - maybe...
Fantastic. Had a late brunch here today and was very impressed! My friends who had arrived well before me did say that they had to wait 20mins for their coffee, which is a bit much for brunch, however it was rectified very quickly once their service person realized.
I had the hash brown and it was amazing! My friends stated that their meals were great too and the value for money was good in my opinion.
we stayed long enough to be enticed with the lunch menu and wine list, however we did only partake in the drinks. My Temprenillo was fantastic for a 'by the glass' price.
I will definitely be back. It was nice to have some live lounge music for that time of day. The surroundings were lovely and the service attentive without being intrusive.
Lovely meal here last night! Funky dining experience with yummy tapas. Pork belly, sliders, mushrooms and the prawn tempura were the favorites! The churros were AMAZING! Great service as well!
Tapas aren't bad. Ambience was better :) We love the tempura prawns & churros..hmm yum
Fabulous Mothers Day Breakfast. My children booked a table for breakfast at Jezebelles in Guildford for mothers Day. The Breakfast was amazing i had hot Salmon with Eggs benedict with a glass of champagne. the food and the service made it the best mothers day.
A class of it's own. We have been going to Jezebelles since it opened , at least thirty times now, it's that special place you go to when you need to guarantee a good night, or day.
The decor is exceptional, the food exquisite and it has an ever changing menu to ensure multiple visits keeps your palate stimulated. The waiting staff are ever friendly with service and personal suggestions based on the owners philosophy of ensuring all staff taste each new menu item.
A bad week always ends after a visit to our favorite restaurant.
Well recommended.
Nice variety. Been visiting since the restaurant opened some time ago & always considered it lovely food & great service. The menu has evolved over time & does change regularly which is great if you visit periodically as many restaurants never change the menu. Great spot lively vibe with passing traffic highly recommend a visit
Went here for dinner. Greeted and taken straight to table. Waitstaff were really friendly and suggestive with the tapas. Enjoyed 5 main tapas & the ricotta cigar for dessert (recommended by waiter). Lovely food, will recommend to friends.
Impressed!. Wanted to try something new and make the most of the entertainment card and stumbled onto Jezebelle. Came on to urbanspoon to check out ratings and the general consesus I got from here was fab food but poor service.
We dined (party of 3) on a Friday night. The decor and interior was modern and funky. i was pleasantly surprised being that it was Guilford (no offense). The wait staff were lovely and attentive but not pushy. We started off with cocktails and beers while we browsed the menu and ordered the following:
tostadas with chemoula, white anchovy and guacamole - so much flavour in one tiny tasty bite. Well balanced and great texture. My favourite thing I ate.
pickled octopus - didnt have much flavour besides acid. So-so
Snapper tacos - fish was perfectly cooked and the salsa was yummy
paella arancini balls - paella lacked flavour but the yummy paprika aioli it came with made up for it.
potato bravas with chutney and aioli - super crisp and cooked perfectly and im such a chip whore too. I rate these.
fried chicken with grapes and salad - my only gripe was that the batter was a bit thick but once again, came with more delish aioli
salted cod croquettes - yet again, another deep fried dish and served with lemon aioli. delicious creamy, mash potatoey goodness on the inside and crunchiness on the outside. winnning
crispy cuttle fish with paw paw, mango and peanuts - the cuttlefish was dusted with polenta and fried. was a bit chewy but i did like the pawpaw and mango salsa. it was so-so.
The waitress did recommend 3 tapas per person so we did go overboard a little. We did finish everything but we were pretty stuffed. We still got a serve or brillat savrin cheese which came with crackers, muscatels and quince paste and a serve of their version of spanish doughnuts which were round and filled with chocolate and sat on a bed of vanilla custard. It was a very generous serve of doughnuts and plenty for three people! We cut the doughnuts open and the warm chocolate oozed out, mixing with the vanilla custard mmm
overall, I loved that almost everything was served with aioli and the tostadas. The chairs were very comfy and I thought the service was fab! I would highly recommend this place. Did i mention the tostadas?? =P
Have been wanting to try Jezebelle for a while now. I went for brunch on Saturday, great service and super yummy food. Will be back for sure!
Good food but service needs improvement. I had booked in advance a table for four people for Sunday lunch; I knew from the restaurant’s website that there would be live music on a Sunday afternoon, so I specifically asked (nicely) to be seated as far away from the band as possible so that it would not be too loud for us to have a conversation, I was told on the phone that this would not be a problem. When we arrived we were given the table closest to the band! There were no other tables available so we had no choice. It felt like they had done it on purpose. Luckily the band had a break shortly after we arrived, but seriously if you book in advance and make a simple table request it shouldn’t be that hard for the restaurant to provide it.
Staff were friendly and attentive but not very well trained; we enquired about serving sizes and were told that each selection was made to be easily shared between four people. Perfect. However when some of the dishes arrived this was not the case; it was not a huge problem as we just ordered more food but it would have been good to have been properly informed from the start. After the meal a coffee order was taken, it was forgotten about by the staff, we reminded them after 15minutes and then it arrived promptly.
Now to the food, everything we ordered was delicious; cannot be faulted, lovely. We ordered 6 items between the four of us and this was enough for lunch. Prices didn’t seem too excessive considering it is tapas and in a nice Perth suburb.
We were asked at 2:30 if we would like to make any other food or coffee orders as the kitchen was closing and the coffee machine being turned off. We didn’t wish to order anything else, however I enquired about the closing time, which is 4pm on a Sunday, I find it strange that they would close the kitchen and take no more hot drink orders after 2:30 if they stay open until 4pm.
Overall a good dining experience because the food was delicious but the service certainly needs improvement.
Just what I was looking for!!
A menu as yummy as it is different (not just "wedges and sauce" like every other place ever); comfy seats that come hidden round corners and out in the courtyard so I can chat without feeling eaves-dropped; staff that seem to genuinely like their job and the people they cater too (and in Perth!?); and coffee so nice I can push back my Melbourne visit another month :p
Everything's so aesthetically pleasing here... Recommend it highly to fellow designers/artists.
One of my favourite places! I love the food, coffee, drinks and decor. It's nice to drive away from the city.
Love the octopus, please do more with it! :-)
Fantastic as usual. We have now dined here several times & it never fails to disappoint...Even thought the portion size was larger this time which is a good thing. Only thing on the menu we won't be ordering again was the deep fried cauliflower - small size of florets overwhelmed by the batter - they may even have already disappeared from the menu.
Really impressed with our first visit. The spring menu started last week and it all sounded so good, it made for a very hard choice. We ordered the tostadas with white anchovy, paella and chorizo balls with saffron aioli, duck sliders and the pork belly with fennel and orange salad (hope I got the descriptions right). The tostadas were so fresh and zingy, the duck sliders had great flavour and the pork belly was a huge serving and cooked to perfection! My only grumble would be that the paella and chorizo balls were a bit salty. The portions were very generous but we still managed to squeeze in some bunelos (Spanish choux pastry donuts) served with chocolate and vanilla custard. These were to die for!! We can't wait to try more delicious items before the next seasonal menu change. The service was very attentive and we would recommend to anyone.
Always exceptional. Dined here Sunday 4th August, not my first time. Very friendly, relaxed service. It's in Guildford, not Midland, and I've seen the odd Coolibah bag floating around in Shenton Park as well. The Tapas are superb and menu extensive, you can pick and choose to make the perfect meal for yourself. Quality wine list, finely decorated and comfortable inside. Would love to visit again.
Such a cute cafe! Currently doing contact free ordering and paying which made everything super easy and simple for us! Lovely alfresco area to eat and enjoy the weather. The service was quick and friendly and the food and coffee was faultless!
Booked in for breakfast and this place was busy so really glad we booked. We often have breakfast out while on holiday. This is by far the tastiest cooked breakfast we have eaten out. Topped off with great coffee and excellent customer service. It was worth the wait for our food.
The outside verge eatery is so pretty - wooden furniture, blossom trees and flowers in hanging pots... The resident Alsatian quietly roaming table to table - greeting guests, accepting pats and visiting the staff at their prospective posts. Good coffee, delicious breakfast - one delightfully friendly Barista and one pouty, post-pubescent adolescent possibly needing more of her own caffeinated beverages to brighten her attitude and widen her smile. More pricey than some other local establishments, but a genuinely enjoyable experience for an impromptu, rather freezing, midweek winter breakfast with hubby!
