What a Smooth and intense flavour liver pate ~ Yum!!!
Beef tartare was yummy but it was too edible that lacked rawness of the dish.

Main course we had duck confit and beef bourguignon ~ tasted perfect with excellent presentation. One tiny comment ~~ wish duck skin would have been crispy.

Lovely little local French restaurant. Food is beautifully cooked and very tasty, wine was good, and atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. Liked everything about our night here and will be back.

We used to go a while back but my french partner absolutely loved the place and thought everything tasted so classic french and priced just right. would go back if we're in the area.

Stumbled on their website by accident and was hooked by their special 1st anniversary degustation night of their six best selling dishes. Menu looked fantastic and I can't stop thinking about it, so I made a reservation. Since my favourite French restaurant closed last year, I've been on the lookout for a new favourite, this could be it.

A glass of sparkling on arrival and a friendly smile, enough to make a great first impression before our amuse bouche arrived, Escargot with Garlic & Parsley Butter. Definitely a great start! We didn't have to wait long before the first course arrived, Sydney Rock Oysters with Sauce Mignonette. Vinegar with mince eschallots made great accompaniment to the freshly shucked oysters.

Black Truffle & Mushroom Veloute with Crumbed Quail Egg is creamy and earthy with perfectly cooked crumbed quail egg added necessary texture to the dish. Pan Fried Pancetta Rolled Scallop with Foie Gras, Fennel Remoulade, Lemon & Lime Vinaigrette was excellent. This was my favourite dish of the night. It was sublime. Everything on the plate complemented each other and the foie gras added complexity to the dish. Kimchi, Tofu, Ham Hock Terrine with Apple, Ssamjang Chutney, Sesame Leaf & Nashi Pear Walnut Salad was fresh and a great follow up after a heavy meal, a palate cleanser before our next heavy meal.

But the highlight and my husband's favourite dish of the night was Grilled Eye Fillet of Beef with Basil Pistou & Jus. Perfectly seared sous vide beef so tender it felt like butter when you cut through it. It left an impression on my husband so big he seriously contemplating on buying a sous vide machine to try and recreate it.

Just when we thought they can't go any better than this, desserts came. I had the Passionfruit and Plum Creme Brulée with its perfectly cracked caramelised sugar topping added extra crunch. I can't really taste the plum though, but found generous amount of Passionfruit inside the Brulée. My husband chose the Apple Tarte Tatin, Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream & Salted Crumbed and I can tell you he kept telling how happy he was that he chose it for his dessert. The proof is in the pudding, or in this case the Tarte Tatin as he scraped clean his plate within minutes of consuming it.

Great timing on the delivery for each course. The matching wines I had with my meals were greatly matched. All that combined with intimate ambience and friendly staff definitely completed a pleasant dining experience.

My knowledge of French food is limited, but I was highly impressed with just about everything we had
Complementary snails is a nice touch
Freshly baked bread (I do believe it was) and
Twice baked comte and and spinach souffle’ and the
Duck liver Parfeit were taste sensations in my mouth, love it
Baked Salmon cocette was a strange taste, nothing ive had and im not sure if I like it
My Pan roasted  Barramundi was superb! The pumpkin puree and pomegranate are a excellent compliment to the Barramundi, im really impressed  
My fiancé loved her duck dish also.
Everyone else had no complaints with there dishes
WE didn’t try any desserts
The Set menu is $60 for 3 courses, the zomato menu is outdated. But from this you will only save $4 or $5, In general I found the prices a little expensive
Service was attentive and friendly though food took a little longer to come out than expected
Despite the price it’s a place I would come back to try something else. Worth trying!

It's my first time that I had beef cheeks, so on Saturday night the 22nd I had the twice cooked beef cheek and it was just magnificent and it went well with the carrot puree, lentils & mushroom trumpet

Nice food, friendly staff. Barramundi needed more seasoning, apart from that a good experience. I would return if there were more non meat options. I found I was very limited to what I could order being a non meat/ duck/ offal eater. Perhaps a nice chicken dish???

We chose a French restaurant for dinner to bring back memories for two of us of our trip to Paris early last year. The food did not disappoint! I had the Pork Parmentier, pulled pork topped with potato - wonderful flavours. Others had plat de jour - marlin fish cakes, duck confit, fish. All comments were positive. Washed down with 2 bottles of French Pinot Noir. The menu changes often and the chef visited our table and chatted for about 10 minutes about his sources of fresh meat and seafood. Great for a special occasion.

Absolutely thrilled to discover this fantastic little French Bistro. I had the terrine for entree and the steak tartare for main, and both were delicious. Incredible food, great wine list and wonderful service - highly recommend it!

To try the newly opened French restaurant in Haberfield, mum and a friend took a trip to Bistro Cocotte! Their first pick was the omlette of the day with salad and toast. The particular daily special was the Ratatouille omlette, and mum’s verdict was that it was very nice, with the vegetables perfectly complementing the omlette. Her friend opted for the salmon croquette with roquette salad, smoked salmon and tartare sauce, and she really enjoyed the sauce, which was the star of the dish!

Came here for lunch a couple of times with work colleagues. And wow! This restaurant never disappoint! Their quality of food is amazing! Highly recommend this french restaurant whenever you are near by! Their food and service were impeccable! Worth a try!!

After trying many “innovative restaurants”, I miss those classic recipes so much and financially find foods from Bistro Cocotte are soulful and tasty. Dishes are cooked proper and presentation is tidy and neat. Location is convenient and price is affordable. Thank you.

Great food. Any steak you order from here you will be satisfied for sure. Perfectly cooked !!! Not over cook or under cook!! Correct seasoning!! If you have it with truffle mash with roast trust tomatoes~~ it will be stunning! All the food will check properly by owner head chef. Thanks Cocotte 😆

If you've ever wondered what snails(escargot) taste like I have some news for you they're...good. Much like scallops (sans salt) cooked in butter. Although I couldn't find it on their website, we were delighted to find they had a degustation with wine paired on each course. I suspect they used a Som to match the courses with the wines because although I do enough wine matched disgustations I can't remember the last time I've experienced it done so well(to no-ones surprise largely french veritils). On to the food! Not sure where the chef is from but it seems like a hatted heritage. The man knows his way around seafood and red meats and small touches like heating the plates ensured that all our meals came out at the perfect temp. Call outs - pan roasted Barra and grilled eye fillet were incredible. In ending comments one of the best things about this place was only 2 wait staff were on hand the whole night. Yet everything ran smoothly and they were incredible. It's clear in covid times hospo staff have gone through some of the worst of it yet you wouldn't know based on how fast and professional these two were. If either of you are reading this, Thank you you are appreciated.

This place is amazing. Had our post lockdown date night here. The food and service was really great! We sat outside and it wasn’t noisy and it didn’t bother us. But we had a great time. Would definitely come back to try the rest of their menu.

Stlyish classic French restaurant serving highly authentic dishes. We had the French onion soup and souffle followed by the moules and duck casseolet. All were excellent. We will definitely be going back.

Lovely local French bistro with nicely done interior with seated waiting/drinks area & nice decor using old wine cases & French touches Very good food quality each time we come& speedy service even during a large table for a birthday. Decent 3 course set menu available for moderate price. Attentive & welcoming staff (only one waitress on the most recent weeknight we came, likely pandemic effect). Will be back!
