Delicious food and friendly staff, seating a bit cramped but well priced and lovely atmosphere.
Located near the Hampton train station, upon first entering the place was quite small with a few tables inside and a few outside. Ordered the Beef Yakiniku Don and tasted pretty good, beef was tender with an average portion of rice.
As a first time visitor, I didn't know if we had to order at the counter because the staff didn't come to us first and the menus were ajar on the table set up, so we went up only for the staff to take us back to our table to order 😅
Not bad. Friendly and definitely JAPANESE. Personally prefer Jirojyo up the road though that has fallen a notch in the past 10-15 years and Zipang definitely offers better value. Y14 previously Yamazaki in Sandringham is a fancier alternative but not necessarily better and poorer value.
This is another one of those hidden gems in the suburbs of Melbourne. It's a tiny place with limited seating that is run by real life Japanese people.
Their sushi is always fresh. They don't skimp on the stuffings (unlike all those franchises out there).
The set lunches are great value for money and they never disappoint. Lovely springy udon with fresh ingredients. And that miso soup....I could drink the stuff all day long.
So the secret is out and the sushi is out of the bag....Zipang is the place to go to for authentic Japanese cuisine.
amazing japanese food. so authentic, cute little place with great Japanese chefs. not over the top, just great food and decent price. i like the teriyaki don and crispy chicken don. also the noodles are delicious with the egg on top. green tea ice cream is yum too

My favourite dish is the Chicken Katsu Don. The staff are lovely, the food is quick, and portions are excellent.
Tiny little place but great atmosphere. The Sushi was great and the Gyoza's were perfect 👌🏻 Be warned its byo but they're happy for beer or wine to be brought.
Always fresh authentic Japanese style food. I like Special C for $12 can't go wrong, the specials don't change much. The size of the restaurant is about the size of one of those Japanese bars in Tokyo. Just big enough for 10-12 people. It's got Outdoor seating on nice days as well. Great for lunch or early dinner.
Tiny little gem in Hampton. Authentic Japanese food cooked by Japanese and served by Japanese. I love this place! If you get in quick try the panko prawn sushi, sashimi is so fresh and delicate, chicken katsu don is comforting. Love their red bean green tea ice-cream dessert. Cute little suburban eatery.

4 outa 5, I wish it was open more often. Go there and have a bite.
The food was delicious - it is authentic Japanase food that I would have while being in Tokyo. The staff is lovely and wonderful. The portion size is decent, you would definetely feel full and satisfied after this meal. I had chicken katsu curry with multigrain rice and I can recommend it for sure.
I bought food at this restaurant too many times, both dine in or take away. Very fresh food at all time, taste great, friendly staff, and quick serve as well. Their food always been persistent for the taste, and freshness. Delicious as always. Afordable and reasonable price. 👏👏👏
Outstanding Japanese food. Everything on the menu is delicious and authentic. Takes me back to being in Japan and the staff are so incredibly friendly and always go out of the way to make your meal perfect. Can’t go past this place for Japanese food and if i had to I would drive hours just to get your Chicken Katsu curry. Please don’t ever change 🌟

A very authentic, reasonably priced Japanese eatery, especially their lunch sets.
Authentic Japanese food and run by real Japanese chef and staff, decent size serve , we had the gyoza, California roll, chicken katsu curry - they were delicious!! Very professional and friendly service, definitely deserve a 5 stars from me.
