Biryani is a must try
Curries are damn good
Just love the place
Best biryani and tandoori stuff.......................
I got the hydrebadi goat biryani, chicken tikka masala and naan as takeout. I must say the biryani was very flavourful + the goat was tender. Chicken tikka masala had bell pepper in it which i was not too much of a fan but overall was not bad. Wished it was more creamier. Although i must say that their portions are huge. Naan was also nice and was a good portion.
Definetely worth its price.
It’s cheap and delicious. The saag paneer and eggplant masala dishes are delicious. Generous servings. Very underrated but one of the best value for money Indian restaurants in Hawthorn.
Spice lounge is the place to go when you're strapped for cash, craving authentic India food and hungry af.
Their portion size is humongous and you'll definitely leave with a food coma. Friendly service with a somewhat lacking ambiance - bring cash!
Nice food..friendly staff...u might think at first that limited thali will not be enough...but the quantity they serve is more than enough fir 1.
Best part....u get fresh naans...not the ones u get at coles. Overall a good experience...👍🏻

I mostly have the veg thali or the egg fried rice and always fall in love with them. The quality and taste of the food is great! Ambience is good, but my focus only falls on the food :) . Great food.
Who went - An Indian family of 3
Time - Lunch
Damages - $42.50 (quite cheap!)
Ambience - 3/5

Masala Dosa - 5/5 - Absolutely amazing. The dosa was crispy & the masala tasty. It was served with amazing sambhar, coconut chutney & gun powder. One of the best dosa I had in Melbourne.
Butter chicken - 3/5 - It was a little too sweet & the gravy very runny. Otherwise the flavours were okay and edible. Portion size was enough for 2 people to share.
Chicken Tikka Masala - 3.5/5 - Better than the butter one but still could have been done better. Portion was enough for 2 people to share.
Plain naan - 3/5 - Felt more like roti, nothing special.
Garlic Naan - 3/5 - Big chunks of garlic on the plain naan. Again could have been much better.
Plain dosa - 3/5 - Since we were awed by the masala dosa we decided to order a plain one in the end. The restaurant had more people by this time & there was only one chef. We had to wait a while & in his rush the chef didn't do justice to the dosa. It was very average, not crispy :(
Verdict- certainly worth going once but maybe in the evening when there are more chef! Not to mention the place serves really cheap food.

I have tried many places by far this is the best place to have south indian cuisines where the price is reasonable and food is really amazing especially the BIRIYANIs . thanks to excellent care by chef SRIKUMAR alias SIVA
The chicken biryani is a must try! Just makes me keep coming back for more and More! Lovely staff that are hospitable and listen to their customer needs!
Don't judge the food here by the way the restaurant looks. You'l be surprised. Best biryani in Melbourne!!
Spice lounge is by far the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne! I'm a huge foodie and this place is hard to top. Hands down best chicken curry. The staff are so cute, welcoming and friendly and the food is generally just delicious. The service is great and I have nothing bad to say at all about this place. LOVE it!

I tried their cholley bhattore ($10). I loved it. I also tried their Hyderabadi chicken Biriyani and it tastes amazing. Mike, the manager of the restauant is a wonderful person to chat with.
I got butter chicken, chilli chicken, poori and rice. The food was so good enough quantity and so tasty.
I got complimentary gulab jamun which taste so homemade. And it's one of the best experiences I've ever had.
The staff members were so friendly and welcoming too.
Thankyou so much @spiceloungeindiancafe
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
A well cooked and tasty biryani. The staff was friendly and approachable. The place has a short menu (which is a good thing) and everything on it looked good. We decided to order biryani (veg and chicken), both really good.
Although, I dined in, the place is suited towards take away or delivery orders.
Chicken Biryani was excellent and serving was good 😊
Food was amazing, I got the biryani and the papadums, and it's amazing value for money. It's incredibly cheap + tasty food. Definitely recommend this place :)
Asked for Bengali fish curry and rice. Samosas and veg thali. Portions were large sized. One of the fish fillet pieces was quite raw (uncooked) .. when i brought to the staff's attention, they promptly took it away. When I was served the replacement fish curry after a while, the cook apologized again. Simple gesture but i really liked that. That's why the 4 stars. If your staff is friendly and they serve with a smile, you will always get a second chance. I will be back again for the curries, they were quite good actually.
and it's back!! the Hyderabad Biryani is back to the standards that it had set a long whole back. Had boycotted this joint since it changed owners. I had provided my 'polite' feedback since and it seems they have acted upon it!! the rice is now light, fluffy and not soaked in oil. The mutton was the right amount and very tasty! Spice was spot on! Not tamed for locals. Highly recommend if u r in the area. Also try the Chicken 65. It's AWESOME!! don't ask what the '65' means cus the owners don't know either. :)
