Tried my very first vegan burger here and was pleasantly surprised. Juicy patty, fresh ingredients. Very delicious!!
My mate used to work at the Hawthorn Grill’d which meant enjoying all the chips!
I don’t know about you however I’m all about those herby, salty Grill’d Chips! You can’t go to grilled without ordering the chips! Am I right?
More like 4.5.
Grill'd isn't just your normal fast food restaurant. The food is just perfect and they have so many types of Burgers, but they also have small things like: they give you a bottle cap and you can vote for which charity you think they should donate to and it goes into a massive jar and the first jar to something like 5 full jars gets the donation. But more importantly, their food is very impressive.
The second grill’d I’ve been to! Definitely happy with the overall experience - awesome and polite service, helpful and attentive. The food was awesome too! Their zucchini chips are my favourite thing by far, absolutely incredible - both crunchy and soft. And the burger was awesome too! The reason it’s not a 5 is because they had run out of pickles and didn’t tell me until later, the the water hub I received was dirty with floaties in it :( I understand mistakes happen! So just small improvements that could have made my experience a 5, but overall I’m a happy customer and would definitely go back!
I've been here twice now. The first time I got the nourish and flourish with the low carb bun but didn't take a picture unfortunately. I remember it was quite tasty although a bit on the pricier side when you include the low carb bun.
Today I tried the hotbird chicken burger with the low carb bun - again a bit on the pricier side for what you get imo. The grilled chicken is obviously not as flavourful and juicy as the beef due to the fat difference of course. But for those more health conscious grilled chicken is pretty much always gonna be less calories than the beef.
In fact, grilld do have nutritional info on all their foods on their site which can help those more calorie conscious. Take note the low carb bun may be lower in overall carbs but the sugar content is pretty much unchanged from the regular bun. Beware some of the foods that you may think might be healthier/less calories are not. For eg I got the Moroccon lamb burger which was very nice for its total calories but that was at another grilld and will be in that review.
I mention these things because grilld do come from a relatively health and environmentally conscious angle with their food.
I should also mention the staff were friendly and the decor very welcoming and comfortable with plenty of space.
Dined here many times, love how the staff were always so welcome and attentive.
I usually go for the Simply Grill'd as it tastes so good. Can't fault as it is always consistent.
I was psyched to see another vegan burger on the menu so I tried it out - it reminded me of a typical cheeseburger back when I was 7 years old (became vego at 8). I’d have it again.
Always get down to use the washroom while doing UberEATS and have my fav burger!
The washroom is always so clean!
Great lively ambience and great burgers
Great service!
As we wandered down Glenferrie road with a meat eater and a vegan we were knocked back by a few places not being able to meet our needs. Grill'd surprised had everything we needed! We were both super pleased with our orders and satisfied afterwards. We shared their chips which were delicious! Great to know we can come again with different eating needs being met! Thanks Grill'd 👍🏻
Just been here this afternoon. The staffs were obviously friendly and helpful. I really love the idea of supporting the community through specific projects, very fun and interesting. Me and my friend ordered a Pork and Pine burger and was given a free burger by using a code, so we chose the Crispy bacon and cheese and ordered their Signature Chips with sweet chilly mayo. It didn't take us long for the food to come out. The burgers were super fresh and huge. Everything comes great together. Just wish the pork could be seasoned a bit more so the flavour could be stronger and bolder, but I think it was still one of the best burgers we've ever tried. The chips were crispy and yummy, yet the dip was quite bland and boring. All in all, we were super satisfied with the experience we had compared to the price we paid, only $22.4 for a Saturday lunch.
This grilld had a revamp recently so it's fresh inside and a nice place to eat in. Love all the burger options and the salads are delicious as well. My friends and I were happy with our meals as always 😊
Waited so long for Grill'd Hawthorn to reopen!
Finally able to get my burger fix.
The shop facelift looks neat and tidy. The staff are enthusiastic, serving delicious burgers.
Glenferrie Road festival is a festival about wine, arts, crafts, food and coffee. But it is also about community with many of the gyms and community organisations taking part. In recent years I have heard that there is a waffle stall but not this year. This year they featured cakes and desserts in a jar, all of which look yummy but I can't eat it. Why you ask? It is because I'm trying to quit sugar.
Loved it! So many different options and all of them healthy! Avocado chips were great, maybe a bit salty for me but the burgers were fantastic.
Great service and food. My only problem with it is that i wants got rocket in my friends with falafel burger and i cant eat rocket but since i brought it to there attention they have been nothing but perfect afterwards:)
I absolutely love Grill'd and this one in Hawthorn was the first of their franchise I had visited many years ago. Service is always good and the burgers are great. I used to get the Grill'd Bird & Brie but now I normally get the Simply Grill'd with cheese. Ingredients always taste fresh and you have the choice of picking a panini or traditonal bun. Their hot chips are awesome, I love the rosemary and sea salt seasoning and I can't go without their chip dips. They also serve alcoholic drinks so you can chug down a nice cold beer or cider with your burger.
This is one of the better grill'D outlets in the burger chain. The service here is wonderful and the staff are friendly and very helpful. The burgers are top notch and very catering. The chips are amazing and worth the slightly higher price you pay than a normal fast food outlet.
The space inside is slightly cramped and can get quite overcrowded around the lunch and dinner periods.
Ambience 7/10
Food 7/10
Staff 9/10
Waiting 8/10
Value for money 6.5/10
So finally I decided to binge at this famous burger chain. The grill'd outlets are to be found everywhere you put your foot on and I visited the one at hawthorn. Light music, friendly staff and a packed indoors is what it looked like.
Being in a veggie mode tonight, my friend and I ordered a garden goodness burger and mixed fries platter. The platter comes with a trio of regular potato chips, zucchini fries and sweet potato fingers. It was quite an experiment with the taste buds! The burger however was created par excellence and the varied choice of buns gives you a tad bit of customisation at your end if you like.
The servers and staff need a special mention. A friendly disposition and smiling face can always make a difference :)
I liked the exposed brick walls, although disconcertingly there was a nail sticking out where we were sitting, right near my head. No obnoxious laugh-and-throw-back-head combos then. Today I went with one of my favourites, the Baa Baa Burger. If you are ever asked to make a bet on which burger I will pick, statistically speaking, you'd win with this one.
Great burgers, especially the smaller sliders. The beef patty is juicy, moist and thick. Buns are nice and toasted. Just the right amount of sauce. Service fast and friendly. Yum.
Mmm-mmmm That is a tasty burger. Being new to Oz I'd been recommended Grill'd for a no fuss, good quality burger joint.
The venue itself is easy going and has a pleasant atmosphere.
We had our burgers to go and waiting time was average take away time.
The service was friendly but nothing above and beyond.
The burger and chips were served warm enough to still be warm when we got home.
The burger was a great quality burger.
The bun soft but held itself together.
The fillings were a perfect combination - loads of flavours without making the burger ridiculously huge and impossible to eat.
The chips were equally as good - crispy on the outside, fluffy inside and smattering of rosemary (an unexpected treat for me but if you don't like herbs on your chips this may not be ideal, be warned!)
The balance between quality and value for money was spot on.
Will be going back.
Best $ MidRange Burger Joint esp this Outlet. My Friend Ordered BackBar Steak Burger so I had to had to ask for FrontBar Steak Burger. The young biy at the counter started giggling. Anywho We ordered another Simply Grilld. 2 Reg Chips and Cascade and Pure Blonde.
Burgers here are always yumm, however this was the first time I ordered steak burger.
It was yummo the frontbar burger is yumm (comes with fried egg, beetroot, small peppery rocket leaves, mustard and more.
The combo of mustard with beetroot and these small peppery rocket leaves gave a very punchy juicy flavour to the whole burger.
The steak was slightly tough, however I think it was just my brain expecting the burger patty texture with every bite. or maybe just a bit too much marbling. Yes thats what they sometimes call it if it has excessive fat, how cute NOT.
Staff are young so a mixed bag if you get them on their PMS day expect not exactly a warm treatment (but its still good) Or burgers make up for other hiccups.
I have been visiting this place since 10 years now. Tried Knox outlet and few others but this one is the best.
Chips are always good if you dont like too many herbs (maybe ask them not to sprinkle too much) when you order.
Highly recommended burger joint and good staff.
Burgers atmosphere service all get top marks!
P.S chippie You really need to work out what good food is. Do yourself a favour and stay home that way you won't be disappointed.
Used to like you Grill'd. What happened! The crispy chips I used to enjoy are now never crispy. The burgers seem thrown together in a slap dash way. Will give Grill'd a miss in future.
Update August 2017
Decided to try Grill'd again after the renovation and Grill'd seems to have lifted their game. We tried a truffle burger and a mustard and pickled burger and they were both very tasty.
Yes. Better option to eat here
Consistently good quality hamburgers and steak sandwhich
Relaxed feel in resturant
Always a winner. Such variety in their amazing burgers, you can just keep going back! best chips for sure, sauces are a must (Although too small!). Kangaroo Burger would be nice!
Grilled but not chilled. Love the burgers, chips, casual young staff. Great place to take the kids for lunch but the ambiance mix is not working. Often the music volume is driven up by staff who are suffering hearing loss from last nights house parties to the point where you can see 30+ diners yelling orders and standing outside until it is done. Down with the volume and up with the profits
Been here a few times... still can't get enough. Agree that it is a tad expensive.. still tastes good but. Love the chips -especially with that green dipping sauce.
We love our Emo Burger, a name we gave it because nearly all the staff (particularly the males) have Emo style haircuts. Burger is nearly always fine though they do seem to vary between stores but Hawthorn is one of the better ones (and, we understand, was the original store). Fridge stocked with Cascade Juices which are also very yummy. How anyone can go down the road to the "Scottish Restaurant" when Grill'd is available is beyond me.
If they keep the eye candy quotient for the staff, I won't ever have a problem going back.
Just fabulous. Love, love, love their burgers!!! creative mix of ingredients and always tastes great. Highly recommend them for a new take on burgers .... and these babies will keep you full
Great, but not typical burger experience. Grill'd has helped create the 'big, all natural burger" wave in Melbourne. We like the fresh meat, buns, salad and dressing. More expensive than your typical fast food burger, but much more substantial in all respects.
