This is our 2nd time coming to this cafe 2 weeks on a row. . The food is delicious and high quality ingredients. My son had Hot Chick burger and it was divine! I had Mushroom Quesadilla and they were yummy 😊. . Today i try the mini almond croissant and i love it. Coffee is always great too. Staffs are lovely and professional. Definitely a gem to the local here ❤️

Staff were so nice! Friendly and helpful. The tea was lovely and the Benedict was worth the calories!

The best Eggs Benedict I’ve had anywhere!! The base is a mouth watering veg pattie which takes the dish to another level! I’m so glad we stopped in this afternoon, excellent customer service even though the kitchen was closing in 2mins, they served us!, and it made our day even more special while we were having a quiet day celebrating my husband’s birthday. Thank You guys, we’ll be back! Wish I had photos, was too busy eating 😂 Love, Chris and Tanya

Modern brunch with a great food and coffee. Our meal was very reasonably priced as brunch places go with corn bread in many dishes you'll struggle to go home hungry. The menu was varied but small offering a few specialised dishes off your standard brunch array which were a great addition. The coffee was also good, they used code black beans which is an easy to drink blend but won't surprise or impress any palettes. The service was excellent but the overall atmosphere of the venue was clean and lacking in any personality. Overall 4/5

Invited for brunch with the fam and I tried the egg bennie, egg waffles and kids fish & chips. Starting with the egg bennie, it had the crispiest hash brown ever. Eggs were poached perfectly and the shoyu hollandaise was a delicious twist. The egg waffles were the perfect sweetness, something hard to get right when it has so much toppings. My daughter loved the kid size fish and chips and smashed it all down. Great meals with great coffee and drinks, would recommend this place.

Breakfast burrito was a total win for me. And best mocha I’ve had as long as I can remember

Amazing Food and service. Finest coffee and Lunches your money can buy. Their chicken wraps are a highlight for me, but everything on the menu is delicious. The team are always a pleasure to see and provide quick and friendly service. Can't recommend this place highly enough!

Great food, great staff, amazingly friendly owner, and the new dinner menu is actually amazing. Morrison’s is a bit of an institution for us in Hawthorn. Headed up by Fabian (I hope I spelt that correctly) gives an amazingly fresh, positive vibe to a cafe experience. I pop in a couple times a week because the coffee is excellent, simple things like homemade butter and a unique spin on regular breakfast food repeatedly draw me back. The dinner is something else. I don’t think I’ve had a fresher or tastier meal in several months. As always service is spectacular and me and my partner both raves about all the dishes we had, would highly recommend the cerviche!! 10/10 would recommend

Despite been the GO-TO place for brekkie or brunch. I was delighted to hear they are now open for dinner and it was amazing. Delicious food. Fresh,Creative and thoughtful. Lucifer wings and the Fijian salad , WOW , I'll be back just for that any given day.

We visited Morrisons for brunch yesterday and enjoyed our visit.<br/><br/>We ordered the Smashed Avo, Breakfast Burrito & two lattes. The Smashed Avo was good, nothing out of the ordinary but still satisfying. I would have preferred if there was more avo, as it barely covered one toast. It also said on the menu that the halloumi was going to be crumbed, however it wasn't and seemed more like a batter.<br/><br/>The Breakfast Burrito was very filling and made tasty with the Colombian sauce. Coffees were good as well but I would have liked if they had oat or coconut milk as options too.<br/><br/>The waitress was also very friendly and nice to chat to! Overall, Morrisons has a menu with all of the brunch staples you could want - it's worth a visit if you are in the Hawthorn area.

In a suburb with a glut of great cafes, it's nice to find a hidden gem like Morrisons. In a back street of Hawthorn, this fabulous spot is light, bright and beautiful. White washed brick walls make it a cosy cafe, and the furniture is lovely and comfortable. <br/><br/>Starting with coffee and a fresh green juice, we were able to take a good look at the menu. There is a great selection of dishes, and we were looking forward to our brunch. Everything arrived promptly, and service at Morrison's is of a very high standard. <br/><br/>The smashed avo was a generous serve atop two slices of sourdough. The avocado was delicious and creamy, and the addition of feta added that necessary saltiness. Finished with beautiful poached eggs and sweet potato crisps for texture, this wasn't your average avocado toast. <br/><br/><br/>The granola was a fantastic bowl of yogurt topped with homemade granola and fresh fruit. Simple, sure; but the flavours and textures were all there, and this healthy bowl was filling and tasty. <br/><br/>Morrisons is also open for dinner one night a week, with a South American slant to the menu. If the standard of their dinner is as good as their brunch, I will be back again to enjoy this lovely cafe, with it's excellent food, friendly staff and relaxed ambience.

I always love discovering new cafes in the Hawthorn area, as Morrisons was a new find for my friend and I. It is such a cute cafe with a very cozy and friendly atmosphere. <br/><br/>We were spoilt with choice on the menu with both breakfast and lunch options. We decided on the breakfast board that had every possible breakfast fav in miniature form - fritter with avo and a poached egg, smashed avo on toast, hash brown with onion jam, berry and apricot pastries, yogurt glass and orange juice. I absolute loved every part of this board especially the fritter that was so tasty and the yogurt glass was very fresh. We also ordered the salmon salad with grilled salmon, quinoa, feta, pomegranate, apple and rocket. This was the perfect healthy and fresh salad that was super tasty. <br/><br/>Definitely keen to return to this cafe especially to try some of the sweet options including the bubble waffle dish.

This cafe is so uniquely gorgeous with the most friendly staff and service. We ordered the brekkie board which had the most beautiful presentation, we were absolutely stunned. Above that, the salmon came out picture perfect. Even after obsessing with how beautiful the photos looked, the coffee remained strong and heated. There’s no other way to describe it other than this place is definitely a must visit.

Morrisons is a quaint little humble cafe located in the outskirts of hawthorn, the staff are absolutely lovely and always attentive and the food is delicious! <br/>We tried the mexican bowl which consisted of quinoa, greens, Mexican spiced chicken, beans, avo and corn- a delicious and healthy blend of ingredients. As well as this, we tried the pulled pork tacos which were perfectly paired with pineapple and a slaw. <br/>Definitely a great spot for a late lunch or some boozy brunch!!

My friend and I were so lucky to dine here last weekend. Morrisons is only open one night a week, being a Friday night. The restaurant focuses on South American food, I love that it is traditional with a modern spin.<br/><br/>We started off with some cocktails, I had an Aperol Spritz and my friend a Mimosa both looked and tasted amazing! <br/><br/>To start with, we shared the Peruvian ceviche with rice crackers and what a cracker of a dish this was! The ceviche was zingy and full of different flavours. The rice crackers were the perfect accompaniment to this dish. We also shared the sambal crispy chicken ribs and these were crispy, spicy and packed a punch. The siracha mayo had a nice heat to it too and added extra flavour with the rib. For main we had Feijoada which is the perfect winter warmer. The strew type dish was nice and I really liked the crispy pork ribs in there. We also ordered the churrasco with chimichurri, however it had ran out and I was shattered as I really wanted to try this. It looked so stunning and tasty. For dessert we shared the banana nutella chimichangas and what a dish to finish up with! I have never had anything like this before and I loved it! I highly recommend this as a dessert.<br/><br/>This is a restaurant with a lot of passion and it shines through the food. Thank you for the invite, we had such a great time.

On Friday night we dined at Morrison’s Cafe, for their Latin American dinner service. Only open late on Fridays they do some great drink specials and Latin American flavours with a South East Asian twist. <br/><br/>The cafe interior was quite a visual feast with wall murals and art work that gave the place a cosy vibe. We sat at the front bench table looking out and I ordered the cucumber laden gin spritz which contained just about everything I like in a drink. Clearly we were off the flying start.<br/><br/>We ordered three small dishes and a large to share. We started with Peruvian ceviche and rice crackers, the mix of ingredients was bold zesty spicy and fresh.<br/><br/>The fragrant and flavoursome chicken curry with roti had shredded chicken, silky potatoes and was the perfect Japanese Malaysian fusion, not too sweet, not too spicy, very moorish. Yum to that roti too.<br/><br/>The Sambal crispy chicken ribs with a siracha mayo, were out of this world crunchy, an incredible outer coating with a succulent chicken and fabulous hint of heat. The were really amazing... everyone should order these. <br/><br/>All the mains were tempting for me but my dining buddy was a no pork or red meat diner so in the end opted for the Encebollado, a fish stew from Equador and quite authentic we were told. This was quite a liquid dish that went very well with our coconut rice and had good levels of heat.<br/><br/>Worth saying that we were caught out by just how large these dishes were so although we loved them all probably could survive with one less small next time... especially if you want room for dessert.<br/><br/>Our shared dessert tonight was the Banana Nutella Chimichanga and anyone ordering this is in for a flavour treat in those folds. I wonderful way to end the meal.<br/><br/>Faultless meal tonight with some interesting fusions that were well thought through and not just done for gimmicks. Definitely one to try for a welcoming and flavour filled Friday night.<br/><br/>Thanks to Morrison’s Cafe for their hospitality but more importantly for giving the evening dinner service a go.

Hello New Friday Night Dinner Spot:<br/>We were blown away by the incredible flavours and delicious menu options that are on offer at Morrisons Cafe for Friday night dinner! We have never had traditional Latin American food before but we are now totally obsessed with it.<br/><br/>The food here is honestly some of the best we have had- full of flavour, packed with love, moorish and just delicious.<br/><br/>The service is also incredible, we felt like we were right at home dining here. We can’t wait to come back!<br/><br/>If you haven’t already, you really do need to visit Morrison’s for dinner on a Friday, you will fall in love with everything about it!

The service was really good and efficient, very accommodating with dietary requirements. The food was really good, would definitely return.
Hello. Imnikki
Upon entering Morrisons, you'll be enthralled by its sophisticated and moody vibe, and soon you'll be even more captivated by the delicious food and drinks.<br/><br/>My friend and I had a lovely lunch here, starting off with a most enjoyable cup of almond latte for me, and an almond flat white do her. We followed this with two incredibly refreshing juices - Green Detox and Tropical Sunshine.<br/><br/>We shared the Paleo Nola, Broccoli Corn Fritters and Buddha Bowl. The yoghurt base of the Paleo Nola really made the dish, giving it not only a smooth and creamy texture to contrast the crunchy granola, but also a tangy flavour. The golden and crunchy fritters were delightfully well-seasoned, and went really well with the creamy avocado. The Buddha Bowl was the epitome of clean eating goals, and it was a very generously-sized bowl of healthy goodness.<br/><br/>There's a small courtyard out back that would be perfect for sunny days, and I can't wait to return to try the bubble waffles. Thank you for the meal!<br/><br/>

A nice, cosy cafe in Hawthorn!<br/><br/>The interior is slightly moody, with lots of paintings/artwork on the walls and painted more darkly. I liked the display of plants in the front corner next to the entrance, which added some lovely greenery to the space. There is a small courtyard out the back for groups of two.<br/><br/>DRINKS<br/>Flat White with Almond Milk: Nice coffee to start off the brunch<br/>Green Detox Juice: A fresh, slightly tangy juice with lots of goodness such as kale & spinach! Slightly chunky with fibre from the ingredients<br/>Tropical Sunshine: A sweet, slightly thick smoothie which had a lovely coconut note at the end<br/><br/>FOOD<br/>Paleo Nola: A lovely granola bowl which had a lovely yogurt as a base. The dish was sweet but not sickly sweet which was lovely. The stewed apples were a nice contrast to the fresh fruit<br/>Corn Fritters: Loved these three lovely corn fritters! They were tasty, had a slightly crunch & the eggs were poached perfectly<br/>Buddha Bowl: Nice buddha bowl which was filled with all the good stuff!<br/><br/>Very friendly staff who were attentive to our table.

Only One Night A Week - Authentic Colombian that will make your heart sing.<br/> <br/>My experience can be summarized in one sentence. I really didn’t want to leave!<br/> <br/>👥The staff are absolutely lovely. As we were leaving I said, “Oh I don’t actually want to leave” because they made us feel so welcome, like family. Anne and Fabian were particularly incredible. I so appreciated their fun and caring nature. Fabian was very passionate about his food, talked us through all his amazing dishes and the fantastic origins of each.<br/> <br/>🔅The interior was well lit but still had the perfect balance of comfort.<br/> <br/>🍽The menu offered various delicacies that were of Colombian origin with hints of other foreign cuisines. There was a selection of small share plates and large dishes … without an overwhelming list of too many options. We order a ‘Dirty Margarita’ and an ‘Espresso Martini’ to help us relax, but really – this venue and the staff do that on their own.<br/> <br/>🍽Mushroom Quesadilla $13<br/>💬One of our favourites! The dish comes with 4 pieces. The combination of flavours worked extremely well and created an impressive dish that is still being talked about!<br/> <br/>🍽Sambal Crispy Chicken Ribs $13<br/>💬The chicken wings marinated in Sambal were another favourite. They were lightly fried and were well accompanied with a tasty, zingy siracha mayonnaise for dipping.<br/> <br/>🍽Arepas $10<br/>💬This dish came with three Colombian polenta cakes that are served with a tasty salsa and feta. It was a real subtle blend of flavours.<br/> <br/>🍽Meat Lover Platter $28<br/>💬The dish was filled with meat, so no disappointment on the name. We even received some history behind the dish and how it was once traditionally made. This was a more gourmet version with chorizo, pork spare ribs, steak slices, yellow potatoes, arepas, plantain and more. A heart meal that was filled with flavour!<br/> <br/>🍽Chinese Broccoli $12<br/>💬A great twist on a classic as it was infused with some incredible Colombian spices to really add some sensational flavours. Mushrooms also featured in the dish.<br/> <br/>🌟Overall, we really could not fault our visit. It was delicious, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. I cannot wait to bring family and friends back here in summer.<br/> <br/>💚Staff – Some of the absolute crème de la crème<br/>💚Food – Authentic food that is full of flavour!<br/>💚Ambience – Cosy and Relaxing<br/>💚Parking – Easily available street options (We didn’t need to pay)<br/>💚Location – Central

A FANTASTIC WAY TO SPEND A FRIDAY NIGHT WITH SOME LATIN VIBES!<br/><br/>Whilst this cafe is known for their epic brunch menu and a definition of #brunchgoals, they also do Friday Night dinners with a strong latin and Colombian flavour (with a hint of asian included as well). We went here and was definitely not disappointed!<br/><br/>FOOD & MENU<br/>The menu has been made to be shared with a mixture of smaller and larger plates. We ordered the:<br/>PERUVIAN CEVICHE- we were totally blown away by this fish! So fresh with the right balance of citrus and spices/seasoning. We would totally return just for this dish!<br/>PLANTAINS AND AREPAS- a true Colombian street food, they were crispy with flavours upped with salsa and feta garnishes!<br/>MEAT LOVERS PLATTER- this is definitely a two person's dish and boy was it delicious! A mixture of rump steak cooked to perfection, chorizo, potatoes topped with guacamole, this needs to be ordered!<br/>BANANA & NUTELLA CHIMICHANGA- a perfect way to end the night. Banana, strawberry and nutella wrapped in a crispy tortilla. So sweet and delicious!<br/><br/>CUSTOMER SERVICE<br/>Absolutely cannot fault the amazing customer service we received from Fabian and Ann. Fab hailing from Colombia, you can tell there is passion going to these dishes! They not only looked after us but they were equally attentive to other customers there making sure everything was going well, explaining each dishes and making recommendations. This is a service that we always appreciate!<br/><br/>Such a wonderful Friday night and we look forward to returning!

Loved visiting this Hawthorn cafe for Sunday breakfast with Dee. We enjoyed a delicious spread and some great coffee! I ordered the porridge dairy free which was super creamy and delicious! With an oat milk cappuccino (new obsession) we also got the bubble waffles to share which were next level! See ordered the smashed avocado which came with sweet potato chips and feta! All the food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing! The staff were lovely and attentive making for a beautiful morning! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Morrisons cafe serves up some delicious brunch options in Hawthorn!<br/><br/>What I had:<br/>Matcha latte<br/>Green smoothie<br/>Bubble waffle<br/>Brekky bruschetta<br/>Open steak sandwich<br/><br/>The bubble waffle was a fun change to the usual waffle dish at cafes. Love how light it was and the good amount of Nutella that was on top of it.<br/><br/>I really enjoyed the open steak sandwich! The steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned really well. It’s a great lunch option when you visit.

It’s where locals and those from further away come to relax and catchup as they enjoy a good cup of coffee and food.<br/><br/>What I love most here is the friendly family vibe established by Fabian and his co-owner. Two sweetest people who welcomed us and on their own from the moment we walked in until we left.<br/>.<br/>❤️: Shout out to my favorite avocado dish in Melbourne so far, the Brekky Bruschetta here is AMAZING. Chunky tasty guacamole, poached eggs, sweet potato crisps, feta, herbs, marinated medley tomatoes, sesame seeds on sourdough toast. MORRISONS CAFE @morrisons_cafe specialise in Aussie Colombian Fusion Food, Flavours influenced by the South American Culture, located in Hawthorn, with the friendliest staff and a beautiful ambience ... has become one of my favourite places to go to. The food was to die for, finger licking good would be an understatement<br/><br/>They also do bottomless brunch in weekends and Latino nights every Friday evenings.<br/><br/>Decor: Sassy Urban with a breath taking woman warrior mural as one of their feature walls.<br/><br/>#mojolevel 6/5

Our visit to Morrisons Cafe was absolutely delightful! This relatively small cafe is decorated beautifully, with a little outdoor terrace for you to enjoy your meal outside.<br/>What really amazed us was the food they offered, we were hooked!!! We had 2 things from their menu:<br/>Minute Steak Sandwich<br/>Bistec style grilled scotch fillet, chips, criolla sauce, fried egg, rocket salad on one piece of toast<br/>.<br/>Broccoli Corn Fritters (GF) (V)<br/>Beetroot purée, poached eggs, avocado, labne (3 per serve) with bacon<br/>.<br/>Both were very delicious, but the fritters is definitely the winner, perfection!<br/>Pair these meals with some latte and chai, and you’ve got an amazing meal!

Wonderful Service, amazing atmosphere and most importantly... quality food! Thank you Morrisons Cafe for a fabulous Sunday Brunch and a wonderful culinary experience. We devoured the Mexican Bowl and Broccoli Corn Fritters and they went down a treat 👌🏻💕

Cannot rate this place any higher! It’s absolutely fantastic! First the venue is super cute! And the owner is super friendly and has created such a fantastic and delicious menu! Seriously! The bubble waffles, could eat that all day everyday! That was amazing! The bruschetta was soooo yummy! Would recommend if you don’t know what you want. Then the eggs benny was super tasty, highly enjoyed and I eat a lot of eggs benny! This is a must visit cafe, it’s not huge inside but try pop down when you can. Note they also do dinner!

3.5/5 Operating mainly as a cafe, Morrison’s transforms into a restaurant on Friday nights, showcasing dishes from various countries within Latin America as well as a bit of Southeast Asian flair thanks to its Malaysian chef.

The Buddha bowl was so fresh and had great overal flavour. The dressing was really creamy and full of flavour which was a nice touch to the simplicity of this dish. The different types of potato was really nice and unique and they were all seasoned and cooked perfectly. The portion of avo was really generous which was nice and added more freshness to the bowl. There was a bit too much of the lettuce/leaves for the amount of the other toppings so a bit less of that or a few more topping would've been nice. the dish was also really simple with not many components so having a few more vegetables or ingredients would've enhanced the overal dish. The fritters dish was delish! They were so so nice with heaps of flavour and were cooked so perfectly with a great crunch to them. the avo was very generous as well as the 2 poached egg which were cooked perfectly. the beetroot puree added nice sweetness and freshness to this dish too. there was no labne however on the dish as written on the menu. The chips were amazing with great seasoning and nice condiments. The drinks were both very nice and refreshing and the juice especially was packed with lots of fruit and veg and was very nice. The atmosphere was cosy but nice with great decor to open up the space. The staff were so willing to help and very friendly.
Eat_today_diet_tomorrow
Firstly, we had the breakfast burrito, the sauce complimented the breakfast burrito well. It gave it a kick in the taste department. We wish there was more sauce.<br/>We also had the eggs benny. The hash brown was crispy and we liked how the ham was presented. It was refreshing to see them in strips instead of one single big piece. It was a well balanced dish with the umami from the egg, salitiness from the ham, bitterness from the spinach and crispyness from the hash brown. It is an interesting taste to the classic brunch dish.<br/><br/>Lastly, we had the paleo nola, which is a yogurt panola. It is on the sour side, could use some sweetness and it would be perfect.

The food here was so delicious!! Definitely will be coming back 😍 Fabian and Ann were super accomodating and constantly checked up on us, making our time absolutely wonderful! The ice cream was definitely my highlight 💞 being a major sweet tooth and having a lot of desserts, I must say this is one of the best I’ve ever had! The presentation is very aesthetic too! My favourite savoury dish was very hard to choose as everything was simply amazing. But the chickpea curry takes the cake with the guacamole and fried chicken second!

Came here for Sunday brunch with group of friends. Nice little cafe in not so busy pocket of Hawthorn. I ordered ole ole, its consisting corn bread Colombian style with chorizo and pouch eggs, the bread was really dried. Another friend ordered lentil bowl with twice cooked pork slice, pork was done well, its tender and flavoursome. The Buddha bowl also nice. Coffee was so so only.
Jingwen Hu
Really love its lovely service. Presentation of food is fabulous, and the portion is quite generous-a little bit too much for me. Ole ole maybe better if added more ingredients.
Mish Tham
Been here twice and really enjoy the food especially the fish tacos. Very nice and comfortable setting with great services. Would definitely recommend this place.
Nini Foodie
Lovely unassuming little cafe on Church Street serving a pretty varied menu of brunch classics, toasties, burgers and poke bowls. I had the smashed avo ($19) which was beautifully presented and elevated with haloumi, a delish beetroot sauce and lots of seeds. Just wish they had more GF options (especially for the toasties and burgers).

Called into this cafe for a piccolo latte today. The service was good and quick thank you... as I didn’t have much time today lol <br/><br/>My piccolo was excellent, a good temperature, really flavoursome and strong. The perfect combo to get you going in the morning ... happy days hahaha <br/><br/>I’d already eaten but they had man size slices of cakes for $3.50 of yoghurt cake, banana cake etc Yummo <br/><br/>Definitely worth a visit.

3.5 Morrisons Cafe offers locals a breakfast experience that’s far from ordinary. With international influences scattered throughout their menu, this competitively priced cafe would definitely suit those looking to spice up their ordinary brunch fare.

Love this place! Their roasted mushroom dish is one of the best entrees I have ever tasted (and I have been previously spoilt by dining experiences at Ezard, Dinner by Heston, Cutler & Co to mention a few). Thank you, Ann & Fabian, we will be back again soon!

I am so happy that I find this hidden gem in the suburbs. I noticed it when I drive pass it daily when I go to work. <br/><br/>The coffee is really nicely done, a thumbs up for the barista. Also the staff is so friendly and willingly to answer to any of your questions towards their dishes or coffee. <br/><br/>The Bennie is the dish for anyone that loves hash brown, the sauce is nicely done on natural sweetness with honey and some type of plants. Sweet but not greasy, well done. <br/><br/>I would highly recommend anyone who is in the area to give it a visit.

Such a good place to go and have late breakfast.. even the kids can have a bit of play and also receive a lovely service.. for long time I didn't have a nice and perfect Coffee. We will come back.

Good vibe, cool place, funky staff, amazing food.I was visiting a client in the area and accidentally came across to this hidden Melbourne Café gem. I would definitely come back :)

Great food!!! - The presentation of each dish which we had was beautiful, I had the Broccoli fritters all the flavours in the dish matched together perfectly. The place is small but warm and nice, also it has a cosy backyard.

A lovely place, staff are kindly, they will be nice to the everyone, if someone has question can easily get the answer, and the coffee, banana cake, burger are delicious. I'll be there next time.

Been here a few times as I work in the area. Food & coffee is always spot on, staff friendly and attentive. Compared to everything else in the area it's head and shoulders above. Highly recommend it.

I'm a local and have been to Morrisons Cafe 3 times now. The coffee is consistent and love the Paleo crunch! 😍 good to see a new, clean cafe and yummy menu in the area! Expect to have abit of a wait on a Saturday morning for a coffee but worth it. Great work guys!
Molly
Walking into the gorgeous interior of Morrisons, being greeted by the friendly staff and hearing the great music, my friend's face lit up and he mentioned that we may have found our new local. Originally popping in for takeaway coffee we asked to see a menu and it read beautifully, so we ordered breakfast. The meals came quickly and were very well presented (we had the heirloom beetroot and the French toast), although the beetroot dish was almost intimidatingly big. We both really tried to enjoy our meals, but unfortunately both dishes left a lot to be desired. Whilst on paper the meals sounded amazing, neither of us finished our dishes because they just weren't very nice. I don't want to be too scathing in this review because the cafe is burgeoning with potential, I just felt the need to give some constructive criticism, because of course feedback is essential for growth. The waitress didn't ask us how our meals were at any point, otherwise I would have mentioned something at the time, but I want to see this Cafe do well, so I needed to say something here.<br/><br/>Morrisons has a really good energy, good Code Black coffee and stunning presentation of meals. The menu is thoughtful and unique, its just a shame that the food itself tasted bland, was far far too big and left me feeling like I wish I just ate at home. The cafe is well on the way to being a really great little spot, but I'm sorry to say the menu needs work if I am to return or recommend.

I live in Hawthorn and was excited when this cafe opened. I've been surprised to see it hasn't been overly busy on weekends as the fitout and menu looked good.<br/><br/>However, I have since received very poor service there the 3 times I have visited. The owner seems very slack and disinterested in serving his customers. I have twice been in to order takeaway coffees and have found myself waiting for a good 15 minutes while the owner served other people first.<br/><br/>The place has been largely empty on weekends and perhaps this is because there are so many other great options in Hawthorn where the service is impeccable, staff are friendly and food is of a high standard.<br/><br/>From my end, I won't bother returning and will continue to frequent local cafes such as Bawa, Crabapple Kitchen, Short Straw and Axil, where service is prompt and professional and the experience is fantastic every time.
Shoo Shoo
Sitting on the tram to work, I noticed this place had recently opened up. From the street it can be hard to miss because it doesn't have herds of people out the front or street-side seating. However inside is beautiful, clean, and simplistic. It feels more like a sophisticated bar than a cafe.<br/><br/>We came on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. In comparison to other cafes it seems like this place is still developing its fan club. I had eggs with pulled pork and my sister had eggs with avocado and halloumi. Both our meals were lovely and the coffee was delicious though too. The service was friendly and they checked in with us on a regular basis.<br/><br/>I really hope this place does well. Parking in the area is easy too.

I must admit I live in the inner north and found this place as I travel a fair by for work. Seeing the facade attracted me however I must say the coffee was perfect.. The service was incredible! I used to stop on bridge road and get a random coffee now I have my spot in the inner east.

Great food with an awesome vibe as soon as you walk through the door! Awesome when the staff are soo friendly and happy to help out - best service in a long time! Can't leave a review without saying the coffee is up as one of the nicest in the neighbourhood.

As a local I had heard a few people talk about a new cafe called Morrisons. I referred to Zomato immediately to see what diners had thought of the joint.<br/><br/>Not many reviews had been uploaded, however quite a few had been done by reviewers with only one review to their name- which screams that it was either the owner's mother; owner's brother; owner's cousin; or owner's friends who are reviewing on behalf of their family or friend. <br/><br/>Hey- we'll never know...but here is my review. You can trust mine 😊<br/><br/>Interior very modern.<br/>Parking out the front.<br/>Prompt service by friendly staff. Lovely waitress gave me suggestions on what to order.<br/>Coffee was great.<br/>My meal of Heirloom beets and tomatoes & scrambled egg on sourdough- was ok. I didn't get sour dough, but after I had finished I visited the lav and had to walk by the kitchen pass and I saw that other people were getting sour dough. They probably should have 1. either given me sour dough as per the menu item or 2. told me why I was getting multi grain instead. No big deal.<br/><br/>I don't like cream in my scrambled eggs and I did ask the waitress to make sure that there was no cream. Credit to the chefs- I could hear them beating my eggs- a rare occurrence these days. Usually there is a large batch of eggs scrambled with cream ready to use. A big tick.<br/><br/>As far as I can tell, here is a family operating a cafe in hawthorn. They are doing their best to provide the community with a great cafe.<br/><br/>Morrisons are no Axil nor are they a Top Paddock or an Ora. These joints are a league of their own. <br/>This cafe provides standard brunches in a nice modern environment with friendly staff.<br/><br/>Would I travel across town to dine here? No. <br/>Would I return for brunch? Probably not.<br/>However, if I was driving past and there was carpark out the front I would run in and grab a coffee. Absolutely. <br/><br/>The locals in walking distance will enjoy having this cafe on their doorstep. But I hear Sardi has stepped up their offerings (since I was last there) so they will have some competition to keep their local punters.<br/><br/>I wish the operators all the best and hope that they do well.<br/><br/><br/>

Absolutely silky smooth coffee is available from Morrisons in Hawthorn. Such a brilliant addition to an otherwise wanting strip in Hawthorn. Beautiful fit out. I only had time for a coffee today but will definitely be back for more!!!!

Let me start my saying that I have no connection to the owner whatsoever.<br/><br/>Went here today for the first time and really liked it!<br/><br/>I had the superfood salad, which was delicious. I’m not a big ‘salad as a meal’ person but it was really fresh and full of flavor, with a nice balance of textures. My dining companion had the smashed avo. She really enjoyed it and loved the blueberry, beetroot and haloumi puree (very unusual!). Her only criticism was that the toast's crust was too firm and very difficult to cut through, but that's only a very minor thing. The coffee was excellent.<br/><br/>Nice fit out and intimate size – even though the floors are concrete there is no problem with sound.<br/><br/>Service was excellent.<br/><br/>We’ll definitely be back.

I have to agree with Carl The Truth. Theo Petidis is the owner and there are a few reviews written by people with the same surname. Coincidence ??... I think not..

Coffee is very good... I like my coffee strong and got what I asked for.. Good way to start the weekend.. Nice breakfast also.. Kid friendly helps.

Ten top reviews in 2 days by people with 1 review each. Strange that. Obviously the owners and their friends. Makes a mockery of these sites.

Tried this place for the first time over the weekend and I loved it! Or really I should say WE loved it because we were a group of four and not one of us had any complaints.Coffee was awesome and food was delicious and it was so refreshing to be met with such lovely, smiling staff who are both helpful and friendly. Would really recommend Morrisons to everyone. There is something for everyone on the menu, the décor is a modern take on classy and it is such a welcoming, comfortable environment. Great coffee, great food, great people what more could you ask for!

I'm here most days after work, absolutely amazing cuisine paying homage to the Melbournian brunch lifestyle. With some Japanese quirks, the menu is to die for. Code black coffee is incredible, every barista adds their own flavour to the brew with beautiful latte art. The staff is always a joy to be around and the interior design is flawless. An incredibly affordable piece of art in Melbourne's best food and coffee district.

Have been to Morrisons a couple times now (even though we live on the other side of town), let me tell you this place is amazing!!! First of all, as soon as you walk up to the massive door you know this place is going to be a hit. You then walk in and see the beautiful decor and more importantly, the smiling faces of the staff.  The coffee is great, the food delicious. ( I ordered the 'Benny' for those who love Eggs Benedict, it's a must. ). We will definitely be coming back with the kids!!!!!!!!!
