Great food, great staff, amazingly friendly owner, and the new dinner menu is actually amazing. Morrison’s is a bit of an institution for us in Hawthorn. Headed up by Fabian (I hope I spelt that correctly) gives an amazingly fresh, positive vibe to a cafe experience. I pop in a couple times a week because the coffee is excellent, simple things like homemade butter and a unique spin on regular breakfast food repeatedly draw me back. The dinner is something else. I don’t think I’ve had a fresher or tastier meal in several months. As always service is spectacular and me and my partner both raves about all the dishes we had, would highly recommend the cerviche!! 10/10 would recommend

Despite been the GO-TO place for brekkie or brunch. I was delighted to hear they are now open for dinner and it was amazing. Delicious food. Fresh,Creative and thoughtful. Lucifer wings and the Fijian salad , WOW , I'll be back just for that any given day.

We visited Morrisons for brunch yesterday and enjoyed our visit.

We ordered the Smashed Avo, Breakfast Burrito & two lattes. The Smashed Avo was good, nothing out of the ordinary but still satisfying. I would have preferred if there was more avo, as it barely covered one toast. It also said on the menu that the halloumi was going to be crumbed, however it wasn't and seemed more like a batter.

The Breakfast Burrito was very filling and made tasty with the Colombian sauce. Coffees were good as well but I would have liked if they had oat or coconut milk as options too.

The waitress was also very friendly and nice to chat to! Overall, Morrisons has a menu with all of the brunch staples you could want - it's worth a visit if you are in the Hawthorn area.

In a suburb with a glut of great cafes, it's nice to find a hidden gem like Morrisons. In a back street of Hawthorn, this fabulous spot is light, bright and beautiful. White washed brick walls make it a cosy cafe, and the furniture is lovely and comfortable.

Starting with coffee and a fresh green juice, we were able to take a good look at the menu. There is a great selection of dishes, and we were looking forward to our brunch. Everything arrived promptly, and service at Morrison's is of a very high standard.

The smashed avo was a generous serve atop two slices of sourdough. The avocado was delicious and creamy, and the addition of feta added that necessary saltiness. Finished with beautiful poached eggs and sweet potato crisps for texture, this wasn't your average avocado toast.

The granola was a fantastic bowl of yogurt topped with homemade granola and fresh fruit. Simple, sure; but the flavours and textures were all there, and this healthy bowl was filling and tasty.

Morrisons is also open for dinner one night a week, with a South American slant to the menu. If the standard of their dinner is as good as their brunch, I will be back again to enjoy this lovely cafe, with it's excellent food, friendly staff and relaxed ambience.

I always love discovering new cafes in the Hawthorn area, as Morrisons was a new find for my friend and I. It is such a cute cafe with a very cozy and friendly atmosphere.

We were spoilt with choice on the menu with both breakfast and lunch options. We decided on the breakfast board that had every possible breakfast fav in miniature form - fritter with avo and a poached egg, smashed avo on toast, hash brown with onion jam, berry and apricot pastries, yogurt glass and orange juice. I absolute loved every part of this board especially the fritter that was so tasty and the yogurt glass was very fresh. We also ordered the salmon salad with grilled salmon, quinoa, feta, pomegranate, apple and rocket. This was the perfect healthy and fresh salad that was super tasty.

Definitely keen to return to this cafe especially to try some of the sweet options including the bubble waffle dish.

This cafe is so uniquely gorgeous with the most friendly staff and service. We ordered the brekkie board which had the most beautiful presentation, we were absolutely stunned. Above that, the salmon came out picture perfect. Even after obsessing with how beautiful the photos looked, the coffee remained strong and heated. There’s no other way to describe it other than this place is definitely a must visit.

Morrisons is a quaint little humble cafe located in the outskirts of hawthorn, the staff are absolutely lovely and always attentive and the food is delicious!
We tried the mexican bowl which consisted of quinoa, greens, Mexican spiced chicken, beans, avo and corn- a delicious and healthy blend of ingredients. As well as this, we tried the pulled pork tacos which were perfectly paired with pineapple and a slaw.
Definitely a great spot for a late lunch or some boozy brunch!!

My friend and I were so lucky to dine here last weekend. Morrisons is only open one night a week, being a Friday night. The restaurant focuses on South American food, I love that it is traditional with a modern spin.

We started off with some cocktails, I had an Aperol Spritz and my friend a Mimosa both looked and tasted amazing!

To start with, we shared the Peruvian ceviche with rice crackers and what a cracker of a dish this was! The ceviche was zingy and full of different flavours. The rice crackers were the perfect accompaniment to this dish. We also shared the sambal crispy chicken ribs and these were crispy, spicy and packed a punch. The siracha mayo had a nice heat to it too and added extra flavour with the rib. For main we had Feijoada which is the perfect winter warmer. The strew type dish was nice and I really liked the crispy pork ribs in there. We also ordered the churrasco with chimichurri, however it had ran out and I was shattered as I really wanted to try this. It looked so stunning and tasty. For dessert we shared the banana nutella chimichangas and what a dish to finish up with! I have never had anything like this before and I loved it! I highly recommend this as a dessert.

This is a restaurant with a lot of passion and it shines through the food. Thank you for the invite, we had such a great time.

On Friday night we dined at Morrison’s Cafe, for their Latin American dinner service. Only open late on Fridays they do some great drink specials and Latin American flavours with a South East Asian twist.

The cafe interior was quite a visual feast with wall murals and art work that gave the place a cosy vibe. We sat at the front bench table looking out and I ordered the cucumber laden gin spritz which contained just about everything I like in a drink. Clearly we were off the flying start.

We ordered three small dishes and a large to share. We started with Peruvian ceviche and rice crackers, the mix of ingredients was bold zesty spicy and fresh.

The fragrant and flavoursome chicken curry with roti had shredded chicken, silky potatoes and was the perfect Japanese Malaysian fusion, not too sweet, not too spicy, very moorish. Yum to that roti too.

The Sambal crispy chicken ribs with a siracha mayo, were out of this world crunchy, an incredible outer coating with a succulent chicken and fabulous hint of heat. The were really amazing... everyone should order these.

All the mains were tempting for me but my dining buddy was a no pork or red meat diner so in the end opted for the Encebollado, a fish stew from Equador and quite authentic we were told. This was quite a liquid dish that went very well with our coconut rice and had good levels of heat.

Worth saying that we were caught out by just how large these dishes were so although we loved them all probably could survive with one less small next time... especially if you want room for dessert.

Our shared dessert tonight was the Banana Nutella Chimichanga and anyone ordering this is in for a flavour treat in those folds. I wonderful way to end the meal.

Faultless meal tonight with some interesting fusions that were well thought through and not just done for gimmicks. Definitely one to try for a welcoming and flavour filled Friday night.

Thanks to Morrison’s Cafe for their hospitality but more importantly for giving the evening dinner service a go.

Hello New Friday Night Dinner Spot:
We were blown away by the incredible flavours and delicious menu options that are on offer at Morrisons Cafe for Friday night dinner! We have never had traditional Latin American food before but we are now totally obsessed with it.

The food here is honestly some of the best we have had- full of flavour, packed with love, moorish and just delicious.

The service is also incredible, we felt like we were right at home dining here. We can’t wait to come back!

If you haven’t already, you really do need to visit Morrison’s for dinner on a Friday, you will fall in love with everything about it!

Invited for brunch with the fam and I tried the egg bennie, egg waffles and kids fish & chips.
Starting with the egg bennie, it had the crispiest hash brown ever. Eggs were poached perfectly and the shoyu hollandaise was a delicious twist.
The egg waffles were the perfect sweetness, something hard to get right when it has so much toppings.
My daughter loved the kid size fish and chips and smashed it all down.
Great meals with great coffee and drinks, would recommend this place.

The best Eggs Benedict I’ve had anywhere!! The base is a mouth watering veg pattie which takes the dish to another level! I’m so glad we stopped in this afternoon, excellent customer service even though the kitchen was closing in 2mins, they served us!, and it made our day even more special while we were having a quiet day celebrating my husband’s birthday. Thank You guys, we’ll be back! Wish I had photos, was too busy eating 😂 Love, Chris and Tanya

Modern brunch with a great food and coffee. Our meal was very reasonably priced as brunch places go with corn bread in many dishes you'll struggle to go home hungry. The menu was varied but small offering a few specialised dishes off your standard brunch array which were a great addition. The coffee was also good, they used code black beans which is an easy to drink blend but won't surprise or impress any palettes. The service was excellent but the overall atmosphere of the venue was clean and lacking in any personality. Overall 4/5

Amazing Food and service. Finest coffee and Lunches your money can buy. Their chicken wraps are a highlight for me, but everything on the menu is delicious. The team are always a pleasure to see and provide quick and friendly service. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
