The staff is so kind. She replaced a laksa for me for free, cos I didn’t used to a fish laksa. And the seafood laksa is very nice. And the roti!

This is truly my favourite restaurant and have been coming here for 30 years plus. Originally located further down Burwood Road it’s been settled here on the corner of Henry Street for a long time now.
My favourite is the mee goreng or curry laksa with roti and sauce.
The specials are always good. Busy during lunch hour with Swinburne Uni not far away. Check the website for opening hours. Good takeaway as well.
The best part is that I’ve known the staff for so long and they always greet me like an old friend. They’ve watched me from pregnancy to my eldest being 21!
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. High chairs available. Parking isn’t too bad. Note it is cash only.
Looking forward to many more lunches and dinners here which I now share with friends.
Chicken curry laksa is flavoursome and fragrant. Offering a good Malaysia/ Singaporean food in the area.

The staff were incredibly attentive and so friendly. The food was good, in particular the martabak starter. The ice cream with a birthday candle at the end of meal was an extremely nice touch. We will be back.
Used to go to this place for “special” occasions during my college time many years ago. The authentic taste stays strongly in my mind - so I made time to visit this during my 1 week trip to Melbourne.
Two of us - my cousin and I - ordered 1 nasi lemak with beef rendang & 1 laksa lemak to share. Must say the nasi lemak was very nice, very authentic. Everything on the plate was very rich in taste - the beef rendang, the chili ikan bilis, even the vegetable pickle. Make sure you ask for the chili to make the whole thing even nicer.
What’s lacking to me is some homey feel. The place was filled with literally only tables and chairs. Would have been nicer if they made some Asian/Malaysian ambiance into it. Bravo for the food, though!
Decided to try Penang Coffee House, the last time I visited was probably 5 years ago. The food is still very delicious and very authentic. Reminded of the street food in Malaysia's food centres.
The only improvement I'd suggest is better customer service. Customers definitely appreciate more smiles from waiting staff.
Nice family run malaysian place. Cash only but atm is just nearby in hawthorn hotel. Crispy roti are to die for:) we also love their nasi goreng. Really nice for a casual dinner
Lovely little cozy place. Not for those who love classy and perfectly presented restaurant. It's really good vintage Malaysian cuisine. They have been around forever and they're service is friendly and quick. We got wet hor fun and Thai fried rice that were both great. I don't think you can find many better Malaysian in the area.
I am so happy this is in our hood, it’s so good. Best laksa lemak in Melbourne, especially when you ask for it spicier. The roasted pork in the soup is so yummy. Char kway teow is also delicious. Staff are so friendly and helpful, cash only though so make sure you have some. BYO wine and beer!
Very authentic Malay foods. Fantastic regional laksa with great roti. Murtabak goes enormous with fab dipping sauce. I don't think you can order wrongly.
