From the first bite of the delicious meat ball skewers to the flavoursome Souvlaki…. I cannot explain how delicious the meals are at George’s “Deep Blue Sea”establishment. A family owned business with old school hospitality!! The staff including daughters and casuals like Sophia are more than ready to serve a great meal and a great experience.

Finally, the fish and chip shop I needed in Hawthorn! The fish was so fresh and they really know how to cook it, it's all on display up the front too so you know exactly what you're getting. We went with the classic, flake, which was grilled with flour and was deliciously tender and juicy. The chips were really good too, not too oily or heavy- they had a good crunch to them but were soft inside like good chips should be.
The lady on the phone was really friendly too, and was understanding when I asked if there was dairy in anything, which is always reassuring as someone with an allergy. I cannot stress enough how picky I am with my fish and chips haha, this is the only place in Hawthorn I'll be going from now on!
Such a a great fish and chip shop/restaurant. The grilled flake was delicious, fresh and local. The chips were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. The best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The only issue I would have is the intense amount of salt that ruined the beautiful chips. That’s okay next time I will just ask for no salt and put on the desired amount myself.
We've been here twice and really enjoyed the fish and chips! My husband had calamari which was crispy and tender and seasoned nicely. The fish was succulent and fresh - restaurant quality. We received friendly and efficient service. Looking forward to our next visit :)
I just finished the best steak sandwich I ever eaten, no I tell I lie it is equally the best to the first Steak sandwich I had from Deep Blue Sea.
So it constantly AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recommend that any Pub or fish & chip shop that serve up a steak sandwiches go in and find how it is done.
The steak does not need teeth to chew through it just melts in the mouth.

I recently had the opportunity to have one of their burgers. As it is a fish and chips place I was a bit doubtful, but it was amazing!! The milk bun was simply delicious and the chips were perfect :) I would totally come back and recommend it!
