Review Sittella Winery And Cafe Restaurant - Herne Hill

Lovely winery for an intimate lunch. Impeccable service. We had the Winemakers plate to start with It had everything from rabbit pie to chorizo For our mains we had the Market fish with risotto....gosh this tasted AMAZING We also had the Kangaroo which was cooked medium rare and was pretty tasty too. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert but we surely will come back another time. Thank you Sitellas for such a lovely experience

Had a great time at sitella. We went along for my mum's birthday (Saturday 9th October) and originally got seated between the two toilets in the main room. The main room was also very noisy. Fortunately after asking for somewhere else we were given a table in the nest which I'm assuming might be the function room alongside the main venue. Lovely and quiet with a breeze and sunshine, beautiful setting overlooking the winery. Service was amazing, we had a slightly older blonde women whose name I can't recall (sorry!) But her service was impeccable- super polite, knowledgeable, good timing with requests, orders, really made our experience. Thankyou! Food was delicious, portion sizes plenty, and presentation was beautiful. A fair amount of variation on the menu and even on the set menu which made order from that an easy choice. Nothing hugely stood out to me as a star dish, except maybe the duck entree, all dishes were relatively contemporary australian/french feeling. Simple and tasty. Drinks were expensive but tasty, showcasing the swan valley, coffees were good. Didn't feel rushed or hassled at all. Overall a really great experience that we will remember. My only qualms were that I'd specifically asked if happy birthday could be written on my mother's dessert via email, and had it confirmed. And this did not happen. Cannot fault anything else!

Not sure about the restaurant but their wines especially whites and bubbles are so nice and so so so reasonable. Reds are light for me but my family loves their reds. Restaurants are always fully packed. No chance of getting in without booking. But sometimes they offer lovely cheese plate at the cellar door so we could enjoy wine tasting this way and feels appreciated :)

We enjoyed a lovely lunch on Wednesday for a combined family birthday celebration! Exquisite food, attentive service, beautiful ambience:our table overlooked the vineyard. Considering the 5 star quality of these factors, not exorbitantly priced at all ! In these grim times, there's nothing like a beautiful meal to nourish and lift our spirits.

A beautiful lunch at Sitella winery. A great menu with lots of choices. Food was delicious. The wines are very drinkable and great value. We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. #howgoodisperth #sitellawinery #swanvalley

I went with my husband. We both chose the 3 course menu for $62.50. There were 3 entree choices, 4 mains and 2 dessert. There was also a la carte menu. The food was lovely as always and plenty of it. There is a lovely selection of wine. You can also do tasting there as well. Great service and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. 🍷🥂

We came for a lunch having previously had a tasting at the cellar door of Sittella's very good wines. Sat in the restaurant, over looking the vines, you can tell you are in WA's oldest wine region. The food was very good, even if the lamb did not come as the described "medium rare". More in the medium side. And still tasty. The fish was good, and a little on the dry side. As you would expect the wines were excellent.

Well, there isn’t too much more than can be said about the quality and service at Sittella. If there were 6,7, 8 stars I’d take the highest available each time.

Went for wine tasting but decided on lunch for 2. Had the fish of the day which was red emperor and the lamb rack. Fish was cooked well and the mash potato was delicious. Lamb rack cooked as requested, medium rare and lots of meet, however needed more of the jus as was a bit dry at the end when finishing the generous serve of lamb.

We came in on a somewhat busy Sunday afternoon. Waitstaff were all friendly. The Sunday set menu of $58 per person offering entree, mains and dessert is pretty good value for money. The food came out surprisingly quick but nothing to write home about. As expected for the price of the meal. For entree we ordered the Seafood Chowder which literally had no other seafood but for some bits of fish. The Pork Belly was lovely. For mains we ordered the Fish which was overcooked and dry and the Lamb, which was very tender but weren’t rested and therefor bleeding all over the plate. The Apple Tart dessert was lovely. Overall, I can’t say I’d be racing back here in any great hurry but it wasn’t a bad meal. Meh.

I was very disappointed in my visit, especially as my partner and I went here for specific dishes. I ordered the gnocchi and asked them to upgrade it to a main course, which they clearly forgot when we got the receipt. The gnocchi was very bland and tiny. There was seriously only 5 gnocchi pieces on my plate, and the rest was cut up pumpkin and tomato. I was so disappointed and had to buy food on the way home as I was not full and wasn’t going to purchase any more over priced food. My partner had been looking forward to the seafood chowder, but was disappointed to find there was no actual seafood pieces in it, like prawns and mussels. Service was average and it was overcrowded.

We enjoyed family lunch on a lovely sunny day. The food is fresh and decent, the view of vineyard and relaxing atmosphere is worth visiting though the service is a bit dry.

Very good meal. Had the set lunch. Had the steak which was really well cooked. Enjoyed the wine and dessert was also very good. <br/>Unfortunately I have gone a second time and the service was absolutely appalling. So long between courses that it was embarrassing. The food was also a step down. Can’t believe it’s the same restaurant as last time.

A slightly overcast day with occasional drizzle welcomed food and wine bloggers to the second Harvest@Sittella event on March 24th – again we gathered in the rotunda on the lawns of the winery – recalling that last year, after once in a hundred year flood in the Valley, it had the waters lapping at it – today the lake was some distance away.

Still trying to find out swan valley regular spot.. we started with the scallops and the tasting plate. The scallops were large but underwhelming, could have done with a longer sear, they were rather bland, the only flavour coming from the spiced cauliflower which tasted predominantly of curry powder. The tasting plate was fine but the arancini was very bland, saving grace was the pate and cheeses. For mains we ordered the duck and the fish of the day which was a barramundi with risotti. The duck had a very sweet glaze, but the meat fell apart perfectly. The fish was moist with a crispy skin, risotto rather claggy and tasteless. Highlight for me was the wine.. fantastic verdelho and service was great.. dont think we will be rushing back, will see what else the valley has to offer.

Sittella has a beautiful setting in the Swan Valley. Eating out on the deck overlooking the vines is always a pleasant way to spend a long lunch on a Sunday afternoon. <br/>The service is always good and wait staff are very attentive. <br/>The 4 of us shared the Sittella Winemaker’s Plate + the Tarago river blue cheese tart from the set menu. Both were beautiful presented and very tasty. <br/>2 from our group had beef- roasted beef (again set menu) and the Angus Porterhouse from A la carte menu - both failed to impress. <br/>The duck and pork belly were perfectly cook and very tasty. The pork belly cracking was cooked to perfection and the crispiness of the duck skin was mouth watering. Both well worth going back for. <br/>The banana brûlée was interesting but is a once off try and the Tangy lemon curd tart (set menu) is flavourful and lovely. <br/>

The experience at Sitella was fantastic for a wet, September day. We met our company at the tasting cellar and selected a Sparkling Shiraz to accompany the meal, which we ordered once inside. Despite the constant visitors and tours they always generously give you a wonderful tasting experience. <br/><br/>The restaurant is always busy which is understandable, given the vineyard vistas, ambience and good fare. I selected the fish of the day, which was served with a simple mash and gremolata. Go with decadence in mind or order an entree if you don't want something too heavy. I usually opt for a healthier choice but it was hard to do so with the menu and rich accompaniments. They do offer the options of altering, but it was very hard to choose a lighter option. Others enjoyed the shellfish chowder and steak with fried onions and potatoes.

This restaurant was awesome!!! Their food, wine, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. I ordered a set lunch menu which were included one main and one dessert. I chose panko scrambled beef and strawberry dessert. They were totally GREAT. My husband chose beef steak and it was also nice! I would like to come here again especially for the special day. In addition, I recommend you should come here on sunny day because outside tables seats are so comfortable:))

I have been in Perth, Western Australia, coming up to 8 months now and I still feel the city’s best feature is its close proximity to the wine region of the Swan Valley. The Swan Valley is the second closest wine region to a capital city in the world – being a mere 20-30minute drive from the city.

Visiting from Melbourne and did a tour of the Swan Valley. Had lunch at Sittella. Lovely winery. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Had the pork belly entree, which was cooked well with good seasoning and flavours. Had the duck for main, which was cooked really well and had a delicious orange sauce. Pricey, but normal for the area and good quality. Good serving sizes. Decor could do with a refresh. Lovely staff in the wine tasting room. Their rose is delicious - light, crisp, dry, and only $19 a bottle! Really enjoyable lunch.

I can only comment on the high tea ,It was over priced and very average food. The service was poor and the waiters where unclear with what was going on with a high tea
Sandhya1814
The ambience of this cafe is lovely if you get a chance to sit against the railings overlooking the vines. Service staffs were friendly. Food was quality, though serving size depends on the food chosen. My friend had a pie, and it was a decent portion size. I had the moussaka and it turned out extremely small. Desserts were nice. I rate it a 3.5 due to the portion size, i believe for the price it could be larger.

Food were not bad! The rabbit pie was yummy! The sweet white wine is very tasty, the rice pudding was a bit too heavy for desert tho. Very nice environment, we went for our anniversary, not dis pointed!

Oh my goodness! What an experience! Every aspect of this lunch was a delight, the friendly service, the delectable food and the relaxed atmosphere. The scallop entree was a taste sensation, the black angus steak just delicious and the tasting plate a fun adventure! The sweets, strawberry basket and the shared chocolate tasting plate were the perfect finish. I can't wait to return!!
The Chefs Wife
A couple of years ago I’d visited Sittella for wine tasting on a Swan Valley wine tour  and always wanted to return for lunch – it looked like a lovely place to dine. Sittella is surrounded by vineyards and has beautiful grounds overlooking a dam and gazebo. We were at Sittella celebrating another Chef’s Wife – it was my Mother In Law’s birthday. We sat out on the veranda, which has sweeping views of the grape vines. The atmosphere in the restaurant is festive. I must have heard “Happy Birthday” being sung four or five times whilst we were there. It seemed to be a popular spot for a special family meal.  At times the restaurant got quite loud, but it was a jolly atmosphere of people clearly enjoying a lazy weekend lunch and the beautiful surrounds.

Amazing food ambience deserves all the start a little more refining for the staff would work but still it hits all the right spots.<br/>Kangaroo 5-5<br/>Pork belly 5-5<br/>Fish of the day 5-5<br/>Lamb 5-5<br/>Duck 5-5.<br/>The taster platter perfectly set gave all the right accompaniment pickled fig was a bit.

Get $120 to Spend on ANYTHING for $60<br/><br/>Having lunch with my husband yesterday, I booked online when we arrived the lady behind the counter advised me not to worry about giving her the paper as I did attach the scoopon deal on email. <br/>With the deal we couldn't have the special lunch menu, i thought we could spend on ANYTHING?! We chuckled... (It's ok I just like to 'investigate' a little bit about the word of ANYTHING on the deal.<br/><br/>The food 8/10<br/>They gave us 2 pieces of warm bread with butter which was quite good<br/><br/>Sittella Winemaker’s Plate was satisfying<br/><br/>For mains:<br/>I ordered a medium rare rosemary roasted rack, confit shoulder, Provençale                     <br/>vegetables, baby spinach & thyme jus.  They cooked the lamb perfectly. <br/><br/>My husband ordered a medium rare Aged tender ridge Porterhouse, the steak was medium but he didn't complain.<br/><br/>We didn't order any dessert as we were quite full.<br/><br/>With 2 glasses of wine ...The bill was $124.50, a different lady at the counter was a bit pushy asking me to give her the printed Scoopon deal. I told her, I thought I didn't have to give them the voucher. She said:"No no, you need to give us the paper or you pay a full price."<br/><br/>Allright I gave her the printed deal to her as  I rolled my eyes... <br/><br/>Would I give them another visit next time, Yes... because the food was quite good.  Woud I pay a full price? Hmm.. Let me think about that later.

Unfortunate experience in this restaurant. Way too many people crammed in and the kitchen just couldn't cope. We left without mains after waiting over 2 hours (and being told for over 20 minutes they were just being plated). We had a booking and I think restaurants need to be firm in not over crowding their restaurant if it can't be supported. Many drinks were missed and waitstaff were rude when we followed them up 40minutes after ordering. We had kids with us and even if we had received our meals at the 2 hour mark we would have been rushing through (not something you want to do with a $40 main). Can only hope the management takes this on board so other diners don't have the same experience.

Beautiful day + Beautiful lunch = Awesome! <br/>Food, Desserts and Coffee was good. Service average. Beautiful place to catch up with friends and family! Very easy to sit and watch the world go by.

Just awful. Rudest staff member in the tasting room. We were a family group of 5 and the woman doing the tastings just plonked the glasses down, literally threw the wine into the glass and walked away. No description of the wine or wine making techniques. We had to ask her to return so we knew what we were drinking. This granted us another surly demeanour before she left to join in and gossip with another staff member and other customers. I recommend visiting this place for its stunning views, average wines and terrible service. There are plenty of other wineries here that are glad of the customers!

I went with a group for a Sunday lunch. The place was fully booked, but the staff were friendly and obliging i.e. showed me the dessert menu before I ordered so I knew to leave room :) <br/><br/>Most of my group ordered a main meal and they all raved how good they were. The vegetarian tort looked amazing!<br/><br/>I had a seafood chowder that was fresh and full of flavour. This left room for crème brulee yum :)<br/><br/>We spent a lovely afternoon on the verandah enjoying the wine and the sunshine.<br/><br/>It is a bit on the pricey side, but if you are looking for somewhere special to spend a Sunday Afternoon - this is the place

I had lunch today at Sitella's and was incredibly disappointed. The staff were vaguely polite but disinterested, they got the one drink order for our table wrong and then argued with my friend when it was pointed out. <br/>The bread that was brought out was of the par-baked variety available in the supermarket and was not re-baked properly, it was hot but still soft, white and undercooked. <br/>I ordered the pork belly for my meal and it was presented with a tablespoon of mashed potato, one snowpea, one piece of baby corn and one small slice of carrot. The pork itself was hard, chewy and unable to be cut with a knife at the bottom. The top was soft, white and undercooked. Also I thought it was impossible to cook pork without salt, but apparently not. To say it was under-seasoned is an understatement. It was pretty much impossible to remedy too because the salt shaker on the table was one of those ridiculous things that delivers one grain of salt at a time. <br/>My after dinner flat white was the only decent thing to pass my lips for he entire meal. <br/>I won't be returning.

Sipping wine and gazing over vineyards whilst waiting for a gourmet lunch is a tough gig, but I’m always up for a challenge. With my three pals and I taking full advantage of another brilliant Groupon offer, we sallied out to the Swan Valley on a Wednesday afternoon to check out Sitella’s winery and restaurant.

View from the balcony, superb! Waitstaff neither here nor there. Ordered the tasting plate to share but only received 1 of each morsel - difficult to share. Mains were tasty and well presented (duck, pork and the lamb), and all came with veggies on the plate, although the lamb was underdone (ordered medium). Desserts haven't changed for a good while - chocolate plate was mediocre with grainy mousse and bitter tart. <br/>Overall, lunch was ok but will go somewhere else next time.

Went to Sittella for a Sunday lunch. We were told they had run out of the chicken dish and Shiraz when we went to order those items.Three of us ordered the beef dish on the menu but was told that today we had the option of porterhouse (what was listed on the menu) or wagyu. Decided on the wagyu, but did not get informed at all that it was more expensive so got a bit of shock at the end when the meal was $58 instead of $40. A bit cheeky by the waitress if you ask me! Was not worth the $60 paid! One of the waitresses was rude and seemed unhappy to serve us however the other girl was friendly. Overall, disappointing, however, lovely view!
Patrick
The service were so slow. I ordered confit duck leg, but when the food arrive. It was a dry duck breast. I haven't been informed about this. How could you serve food without informing your customer? Not only that, it was dry and chewy. They took the dish away so I went hungry that day.

Swan Valley At Its Best. We had lunch here today and it was probably one of the best dining experiences I have had in ages. Entree was a tasting plate of beautiful crisp Turkish bread served with dip, salami, figs, cheese, smoked salmon and olives. For mains I had oven baked snapper with citrus butter mash and mustard sauce. The fish was just perfect. Dessert was strawberries in a a basket with vanilla ice cream and passionfruit. I could not fault any item on the table. Service was efficient and friendly. All while overlooking some beautiful scenery. Some of the fine dining restaurants in Perth would do well to go and have some lessons in quality and service from this winery.

VERY Disappointed service. My auntie went there few time and recommended, so we decided to have a family gathering there last weekend. We booked for 8 but there are few more people coming so went to 10 plus a baby. Required to have table outside when I was making the booking on the phone, and the lady told us it's fine.<br/>Went there and change the number of people, there is a lady (was told that she is the manager afterwards) so rude, and keep telling me that we were on table 22. We are not working at the restaurant how do I know your table number? And this totally doesn't make sense to tell the customers. And we told her that we required table outside when we book, she keep telling us that we were on table 22.. Well, all I could tell is, she has no patient to deal with guests and she got attitude. So we were waiting to get our table to be set for 10, and she told us so many time that there is a shop next door that we can shop. But we are not interested at all, so we were waiting outside and hoping someone telling us the table is ready. Don't even need to guess, there is no one come out to tell us, we waiting for more than 15mins, end up we went in and told that they were wondering where were we....<br/><br/>So guests were coming, as they told us, there was not enough high chair to be provided. We took a look the restaurant actually quite a decent size and at that time only 4 baby including ours, how can you not manager to get enough high chairs for the restaurant?<br/> <br/>So the waitress came and undo the setting since she is a baby. But actually, she is able to eat the adult food now, so we just want her to leave a folk, side plate for food and napkin. First of all, she was very inconsiderate, she took all the setting, so when we asked her to leave some cutlery she was like "What?". How can a waitress reply 'what' to customers? I think you should say 'Yes?' or 'Excuse me?' right?<br/><br/>Well, after all these attitude and service, our mood ruin.<br/><br/>We order oyster, sittella plate as entree, they were great. But main course was ok some are pretty bad. We ordered the steak for medium rare, it came out rare. Confit duck leg wasn't confit, more like deep fired... Fish of the day is barramundi, pretty average. We love the lamb rack, it was good. Wagyu was told that it's 9 marbling score, well... I don't think so as I worked in steak house before.<br/><br/>I have no idea if we are all hospitality background or what, we are very very disappointed about the service and hate the attitude so much. As we plan to well spend our weekend at a restaurant with beautiful view. Definitely not coming next time and will not recommend to anyone I know. There are so MANY nice restaurant in Swan Valley region, I'm sure you can find another one better.<br/><br/>P.S. there is an Asian lady which was told is one of the manager, need to thank her for helping us sort out the ordering and served us. I guess she is the only one without attitude.

Hugely Impressed!. I was fortunate enough to have experienced the 'whole package' at Sittella Winery as we were there for a morning wedding on Saturday 28th March 2015. The surroundings were impressive and the setting amazing - who would think you were a stone's through from suberbia!<br/>The wedding breakfast was a luncheon and the food was some of THE BEST we have had anywhere in a very long time. Perfectly executed, and well presented. I commend the staff, chef and the service was second to none (thanks to Christine and Matilda) - particularly in light of there being over 70 guests at the lunch. I have since recommended Sittella Winery to as many people as I can,and will continue to do so. I very much look forward to coming again for an 'a la-carte' experience. Well done to the bride and groom for choosing such an excellent venue in every way.

Favourite Winery Restaurant. I have been going to Sitella Winery for years now and have never been disappointed by the food or service. Do not pass up trying any of the desserts as they are all superb. The view and atmosphere is beautiful looking over the vineyard and lake from the verandah.

Amazing every time..... I have eaten at Sittella a number of times in the last few years and it has always been incredible. I booked my mother in law's 60th birthday with 10 people who had never dined and they enjoyed themselves. The oysters were so good we ordered another dozen!<br/>Highly recommend for lunch but you will need to book on the weekends. Ask for a table outside to enjoy the gorgeous views.

Positive and Pleasant experience. We recently had the set lunch menu for my mothers 60th birthday and booked at Sittella through a friends recommendation. The staff were attentive and well educated on the menu and were happy to work around intolerances. The porterhouse was a bit hit with the table, as was the grilled fish. Lovely setting, beautiful wines and a really lovely experience, we will be back again.
Yumyum
Disappointed!!. Went for birthday dinner, food under average we refused to pay for our starters and were worried we was going to be sick after their oysters, waitress didn't seem bothered or interested that we had left most of it. Mains under average I have eaten better food in hospital! Will not return!

Nice food, terrible service. The food was good and the venue is beautiful but the service ruined the whole thing. We were told about 20 minutes after being seated and ordering our entrée that if we didn't order our mains our "menu's would be confiscated".

Superp Sunday lunch. An excellent lunch and afternoon. Hosts Simon and Maaike are absolutely delightful and very welcoming. The setting is so attractive, and this coupled with great food and wine made the experience one to repeat.

Food is not as good as expected in this lovely resataurant. I came here last year.. the food was over cooked.. there was two tables then.. <br/>Take ages to get the attention of the staff..<br/><br/>I was invited to come with a group of 11 people a week ago.. <br/>There are a few tables of people on the far side..<br/><br/>The girls were trying to ordered some more food but the waitress walked off.. <br/>20 minutes later.. we were told by the waitress that we were too noisy.. <br/><br/>We were told that she is a supervisor.. :(<br/><br/>Later, there were a large group of nearly 20 people sitting turned up next to us.. their noise is even louder then ours..<br/><br/>At last .. a friendlier waitress came over to take our order...<br/><br/>We were totaly put off with this service .. We dont need to be treated like kids..<br/><br/>As a supervisor she should treat customers with better manners ..<br/><br/>We voice out our opinions and said to her that 11 of us and each or our other friends will not come back..<br/>To be fair .. she did apologize at the end..<br/><br/>Apart from the bad service.. The surrounding of the restaurant is beautiful and we soon forgot about it and continue to enjoy our afternoon..

Bit in the rut. We are not first timers here, and can be considered reasonable regulars. yet the staff at the door did not show signs of recognition, nor a smile nor a greeting which is a big let down. We were shown to our table without much welcome. The waitress came to describe meals of the day, and I had to prompt her as to how the fish would be done. Then another girl came by with a little basket of bread, just popping the bread down, without any eye contact or communication, no different to some backyard dimsum stall. The wine we ordered also did not have consistency in volume. Glancing around, we saw some glasses came out with more wine in it. Again the little detail made me feel let down.<br/><br/>The starter was the Winemakers Plate, which I have ordered many times over. Today's was dismaying. There was a lack of consistency of quality and quantity. Fewer bread, fewer figs, and figs were hard and dry.<br/><br/>For mains, we had the red emperor of the day and the angus porterhouse. The fish portion was large, however the flesh was dry and slightly powdery and fishy. Frozen definitely. Risotto was pleasant. The angus had a lot of grizzles and fat, and the steamed vege was dry. The waitress dispensing the cracked pepper displayed dissatisfaction having to do an extra task. You get better service out of crew on a budget airline.<br/><br/>Dessert was the chocolate plate and it was the saving grace of the whole experience, along with the view.<br/><br/>Would I come again? Perhaps, but there are several other places in the Swan with better service and good food. If the establishment invests a little more on customer service training, and time to monitor consistency in orders dished out, rather than relying on a busy "chef", perhaps a higher standard can be achieved. <br/><br/>Overall, i rate this experience below par. Only because it is based on todays experience, a thumbs down. Hope to come back and give it a thumbs up next time.

Date lunch. Superb customer service complemented with exquisite food. Always have a great time and meal. Had to decide which sparkling to drink so we were given complimentary tasting glass of each - how good is that
Table80
Not bad for the wine and nibbles. But I wouldn't recommend any substantial food items, especially the seafood chowder, which tasted only of mussels and came in a slightly cloudy salty broth. Not like a chowder at all. My partner wasn't crazy about the scallops and bugs dish, and we were informed that 'gow gee' was the sort of salad on the side, turns out to be similar to a deep-fried wonton skin underneath the scallops and had nothing to do with the salad. Jamon serrano was very generous, as was the winemaker's plate, crammed full of goodies which luckily washed away the bad taste from our earlier dishes. Oh, and complimentary bread is a great touch. Our bottle of sparkling chenin was delightful, but with it came two dirty champagne flutes, which we asked to be replaced and the waiter was very apologetic. <br/><br/>View and ambiance is what is to be expected from dining in the Swan Valley. Still unsure if I like this place of not, there are better restaurants around, with more hits than misses in regards to food. It would be nice to come for a lazy lunch with a bottle or two of bubbly and graze on their platters, but that goes for everywhere else too.

Will go back .. Had lunch there a couple weeks ago. Yes the place was full. Food good staff helpful. So it should be for the prices.

BEST place to eat in perth! I have never had such a delicious meal anywhere else. The service is immaculate, food o die for and the wine is tasty! We got married there in march 2011 and it was such a beautiful venue and so intimate. We have returned many times before for food and even have had family members request catch ups at sittella since our wedding. I highly recommend and for weddings speak to Eve she is superb!!
AP
Service: poor, the head waiter was rude and unpleasant! She shouldn't be working with the public! <br/>Food: the lamb roast was really good, a part from this vegetables in all the dishes were just been unfrozen in a micro weave oven like the turkish bread! All the other dishes Salmon, chicken and "tort" poor and really average! The tort...it was said to see three finger foods in a plate called MAIN DISH!<br/>Price: extremely overpriced considering that the most part of the food was not homemade. Additionally, it is very said to order a bottle of sparkling in a winery when they bring an already opened bottle to the table!!!!!!! I would have accepted it from a restaurant in the city, not from a winery!<br/>Overall opinion: OVER OVER OVER priced considering what you get! At this price you should get real top food! nice location, but on a scale from 1 to 10 :4 (3 points for the location only).

Sittella-stunner!. Four of our family headed to Sittella to celebrate a special occasion. The venue was blustery, but the food was superb. The winemaker plate was a great option to start with. We all had different mains so we could sample across the menu. My kangaroo loin was delicious, definitely glad I went with medium-rare. Not so great a review on Dad's steak, but he did order well done so I think that was a bad choice rather than the meal itself. The duck with curry broth was flavoursome without being too hot. The fish of the day had a delicious risotto alongside. Desserts - wow! The strawberries in the basket are a winner! And the crumble was lovely too. The service was a little bit patchy, but nothing terrible, just a bit slow and lacking personality. And granted it was quite busy for midweek. Prices highish but meals are satisfying, well crafted and interesting. Would definitely go back.

Excellent. We have just had lunch with a Cudo voucher, cannot complain, the food, service, wait staff, I bought 2 vouchers and cannot wait to go back, warning the fillets of fish was a big meal for a small appetite like mine, but still tasty. Thank you.

Once again, Sitella didn't disappoint. This place is as much about the company and the tranquil surroundings as it is about the food. The perfect place to just go and chill - whether it be a business lunch, time out with that special someone, or catching up with friends - I've been here on all three of these occasions.<br/>Having visited Sitella many times, I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. This time I took a couple of friends who had never been there before, along with one who had , and we were all extremely impressed. Between us we ordered the tasting plate to share and mains were the seafood chowder, kangaroo, rabbit risotto and garlic chicken breast, topped off with 2 chocolate share plates for dessert. We had no complaints about any of our food and the accompanying wine was of the usual high standard - one of our group subsequently purchased a case to take home - 15% discount at the cellar door after eating :-) <br/>I can't recommend this place highly enough as one of our Swan Valley gems and look forward to returning again and again.

We turned up without a booking hoping to get a table for 2. They were fully booked but after a short wait, which we spent in the tasting room, the lovely staff were able to fit us in. The setting was beautiful, and the staff friendly but that is where the charm ended. Rabbit risotto: I don't think they could have found a more water-marked, greasy fingerprinted, unexplainable dark matter dirty plate if they tried. A simple wipe with a damp cloth would have fixed it but as we found out attention to detail is not there strong point. The risotto was bland and tasted like they had used a veg stock cube to make it with. The pear salad: very ordinary, the small salad that was beside the boring poached-in-nothing-but-straight-sugar syrup pear was half rotted with 2 week old slimey leaves. Again, a massive greasy fingerprint on the edge of the plate. Pork belly main: It was a decent enough portion, but the cooking of it was again, unimaginative and thoughtless. It was tough, I consider myself a person of better than average strength, I had to saw through it using a good portion of that strength just to eat it, not very impressed. The stuffed, crumbed chicken breast (Kiev in other words): as soon as my partner touched the chicken the blackened coating of crumb came away in one big leaf. Not freshly cooked in my opinion, perhaps reheated from par cooking? Either way another showing of the lack of love for food, and respect for diners that one would expect when eating in a place like Sittellas. It's sad really, it came highly recommended from a couple of friends, and the helpful Scottish manager that got us our table told us they were normally booked out 3 weeks in advance. I'd like to think we were a one-off but reading other reviews it doesn't seem to be. I hope for their sake it improves because it is a beautiful setting, the FOH staff were great, and the wine is very reasonably priced.

Great view good food. Food and service was great, wine was reasonably priced, excellent way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

78% Rating - a Bit Harsh in my View!. Swan Valley has its own kind of vibe - it is not fine dining ... but it is not family restaurant / food hall either!<br/><br/>For me the Sittella experience was a positive one - perhaps because I approached it with realistic expectations, perhaps because I made good menu choices?<br/><br/>Booking online with very little notice (spur of the moment decision) created a tiny hiccup but the venue was very accommodating and subtly sorted that one out - albeit that the allocated table was not my ideal choice. That said the venue was surprisingly full for a Wednesday (perhaps a good sign).Front of house service was nonetheless professional, timely and on the money.<br/><br/>A couple of glasses of the 2008 Pinot Chardonnay were a good way to fill in the time it took to peruse the menu - which covered most bases in terms of proteins - chicken, duck, fish, lamb, beef etc.<br/><br/>For us, entrees were the seafood chowder which was hot and flavoursome (although the chunks of fresh seafood were perhaps less than we have experienced before). The other entrée was fresh oysters served two ways - simple, but at least the oysters were plump, expertly shucked and plated on a bed of sea salt resting on a slate tile. The plating effort for me was admirable and impressive. Accompanied by the Reserve Margaret River Chardonnay, this was a solid, if unspectacular effort.<br/><br/>However, the kitchen certainly got into stride for the mains. The beef fillet was superbly cooked (rare as requested) and a very generous serving also featuring seasonal vegetables and hand cut chips. Loved the precision in getting the chips to the same dimensions - a small thing ... but evidence of a kitchen that cares. A glass of the Bern's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was a clear winner with this dish. The other main was pan fried pink snapper - superbly cooked retaining moisture in the flesh which was so beautifully complemented by the rich butter sauce. The addition of a couple of prawns, and seasonal vegetables such as baby sweet-corn, fresh green beans and baby cauliflower heads added a wonderful textural contrast. For me, this was without question, the stand out dish of the day (accompanied by a glass of the Sittella SBS)<br/><br/>Desserts again hit the mark - the 'Raspberry option' was very pleasant - but the Strawberry option (plated with macerated strawberries, ice-cream, passionfruit and a delightful (if sweet) tuille was unbelievably good - and was accompanied by a couple of glasses of the estate dessert wines.<br/><br/>All round a very competently executed, value for money effort - and one that would certainly entice me back again.

Ordered the seafood chowder - it resembled a vegetable soup you could get out of a Campbell's can - couldn't taste or see seafood at all!! Definitely not a chowder. <br/><br/>My partner ordered the steak and asked for it medium - when it came out it was definitely well done - I called the waitress over (older Scottish lady) and her response was "well how do you think it's done" in a very harsh and accusing tone. I might not be a Michelin star chef but I know how a medium steak should look like! That experience left us with a very bad taste in our mouth and I would never ever go back to this place almost purely because of her attitude. I felt embarrassed and upset with how she treated me and my partner. Think it's time for the staff to undergo some customer service training.

Don't bother. What a disgrace, booked High Tea for 8 at 2.30 on Easter Monday, all seated by 2.20 where we sat for over 30 minutes before a waiter bothered to ask us if we wanted tea or coffee, then served us, for a table of 8, two 1 1/2 cup pots of COLD Tea and a couple of cups of COLD coffee, when they were sent back it took over 15 minutes to get replacements for the cups of tea and coffee that was drinkable, this was followed by the plates of food, sandwiches that the bread was starting to go stale, lukewarm quiches and some type of sausage roll, crusty bread topped with cream cheese and salami, the bread was rock hard, the small scones were stale, the cakes were ok but all bought in by the look of it on the Thursday and kept in the fridge, a table of 8 got two small bowls of jam, not conserve, and one of cream to share, no butter, the two carafes of water were empty before the food arrived as no other drinks were forthcoming and were not refilled, we had to stop a waiter and ask for another round of tea and coffee as we were not asked in an hour if more was wanted, it was not as if they were packed, the lunch crowd had gone and the place was half empty, went to celebrate a friends birthday and came away from an restaurant in the Swan Valley again appalled at the miserable level of service and quality delivered for $35 per person, I would not recommend this place to anyone, if the excuse was that it was a holiday weekend then DONT take bookings if you can't deliver, a fast food takeaway would run rings around this rubbish.

Awful food - Great spot thi.... Awful food - Great spot<br/>this was the first time I have ever not been able to finish my steak due to the awful taste of it. the boiled veggies were the highlight. had the oysters for entree which were dry. come for the view - have a glass of wine, then go somewhere that serves decent food.

A beautiful relaxing lunch. I have been meaning to dine at Sittella’s for a while and finally had the opportunity to do so for a family lunch on a beautiful sunny (albeit windy) Sunday. Sittella’s is hidden away off Great Northen Hwy on its own secluded estate. It is a classy, picturesque place. The restaurant sits atop a hill looking down on the sprawling vineyards. At the bottom of the hill is a little gazebo, overlooking a broad lake. It is the perfect wedding venue! We are unfortunately here just for lunch, but are given prime seating – outside on the covered balcony overlooking the said setting. It is the best view for weekend dining and socialising.<br/><br/>I have booked for ten people, my immediate family and my favourite extendable relatives and upon my (late) arrival I am happy to see that my parents and cousins have been well taken care of, in the form of filled water classes and an assorted basket of breads (also complimentary with butter). It’s a full house the day of our lunch, but the food doesn’t take long to come out at all considering we order the entirety of the menu.<br/>Whilst the lunch menu has ample options (covering almost all seafood/ meat varieties) there aren’t a lot of vegetarian options.<br/><br/>My aunty and uncle happily settle for the Mushroom Tort ($28.50). The tort is a thick circular slab of mushrooms, chickpeas and spinach, all encased in a flaky pastry. There is a decent amount of salad in the side, along with confit potatoes and some roasted vegetables. The duo are pleased with it. <br/><br/>My cousin has the Chicken ($38.50) which comes with a blob of tomato salsa on top and what appears to be a crisp strip of pancetta to add some height to the dish. The garlic porcini mushroom stuffing suits the chicken nicely, giving it a well needed flavour boost. The macaroni cheese that comes with it is gooey, though it’s a tad on the small side ... a round block next to the chicken. It’s seasoned nicely and comes with a steamed piece of broccoli and cauliflower as well as three truss tomatoes. <br/><br/>The Beef ($40.50) is a highlight. The Aged tender ridged Porterhouse is cooked medium rare as requested, pink on the inside. It comes with a side of steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots, as well as some mash. The brisket and mushroom flan is also very good, and the shiraz is yum. <br/><br/>My Pork ($38.50) is another decent dish. There are two big portions of pork, with the belly having a suitable expected crunch. The slab of pork has a smattering of grounded up crackling on it and it rather hard to cut through at first, but is nice and moist. It comes with an array of steamed vegetables and three pieces of crispy fluffy fried gnocchi. The smoked apple and cabbage elevate the dish, providing a sweet and sour addition to an already satisfying dish. <br/><br/>Sitella’s desserts are delicious. The Sittella’s Strawberry Basket ($14) was selected as the majority of us to be the dish of the day. The basket was a brittle, oily pastry style basket filled with Cointreau ice cream. It was topped with a crazy number of macerated strawberries and a blob of fresh cream. Drizzled around the plate was berry coulis and passionfruit sauce. On top of the cream was something that resembled strips of dehydrated coconut, but was there perhaps to add to presentation value rather than the flavour significance. As a whole, it was excessively creamy and indulgent, but was a nice way to finish the meal.<br/><br/>The Rhubarb ($14) was another pretty dish, the rhubarb, apple and hazelnut crumble presented in a blue cup. A arch of white tempered chocolate fit neatly on the top of the nut crumble, dusted in a sheen of icing sugar. A strawberry and a blob of cream balanced precariously on top of the crumble. The prune and Armagnac ice cream came in a generous scoop in an Asian soup spoon and alongside it was a zig zag drizzle of that berry coulis and passionfruit sauce once again. I didn’t eat a lot of it, but the family was happy with it.<br/><br/>All in all, the dishes were beautifully presented a nice array of bright colours and with artistic flair. Flavour wise, they’ve done their best to be inventive and elegant and the sections work well together. It is quite pricy (as per Perth) for a Sunday lunch, however the view and the decent quality of food well makes up for it. Altogether we paid about $450 for a group of eight, including drinks, mains and dessert... the desserts being a special treat! Service was also lovely, pleasant, friendly and attentive. Making the booking itself was remarkably easy, despite my frequent changes and requests - trademarks of flexible and customer friendly service. Recommended for special occasions :). <br/><br/>Eight out of Ten Sittella Strawberry Baskets.
Seasoned
Broccoli, snow pea, cauliflower and carrot sticks served warm with a boiled Vietnamese prawn all unseasoned is an insult to red emp plus the chorizo was like kabana, lay off the frilly bendy almond bread garnishes and put the effort into the flavours,it's obvious to an old chef like me that his team is weak, the head chef needs more backup!!!<br/>I looked through the window and he was the only one working hard

Excellent entrees, desserts, wine and setting but disappointing main course.. Pros: Entrees, desserts, wines and the picturesque view from the restaurants balcony which overlooks the vineyard.<br/><br/>Cons: Even though all of our main meals were ordered to differing doneness ranging from medium to blue they all came out cooked the same.<br/><br/>I ordered the Wagyu Steak and I thought it was ok but did not warrant its $58 price tag. The pie that accompanied the steak lacked any sort of flavour and the boiled vegetables made what was an elegantly plated dish look tacky. Some grilled asparagus or blanched broccolini or even some buttered green beans would be better suited in my opinion... Leave those boiled veggies in a McCain microwave dinner where they belong.<br/><br/>Even though the mains were a bit of a letdown all of the other dishes were outstanding, the wines were excellent and the view is amazing.<br/><br/>Recommend and will return.

Lunch in the Valley. I have been vegan for 6 months have suffered going to restaurants, where I either go hungry or eat a very boring green salad. This morning I hopped on the web to see how other vegans enjoy restaurants with other meat eaters. I found out the secret, ring before and ask if the restaurant will cook a special meal. I did this today at Sittella. They were more than happy to cook a meal for me. Yum Yum want to dine out more now. It was so delicious and my meat eater friends totally enjoyed their beef pie. Everybody went home happy. Thanks to the Chef.

We enjoyed a double birthday here on a Sunday lunchtime. Table outside with a wonderful view and few wine tastings before hand. The wine wasn't a winner but the food and service in the cafe was really good. Kids meals available but our kid wanted mac and cheese which she read came with one of the adult mains. We asked if she could have the mac instead and our waitress asked the kitchen who nicely agreed and she enjoyed a plateful of it. Good desserts too

Mostly good. Enjoyed another beautiful lunch at this lovely Winery today. Was a little disappointed when we arrived that they didn't have the booking that I had made two weeks previously, but fortunately Stephenie was able to fit us in. Our Waitress was very pleasant and jovial but noted that the rest of Wait Staff (mostly Asian) needed lessons in how to smile and be friendly. All were very somber. <br/>Food as usual we couldn't fault. My Husband had the lamb which was cooked as he'd requested and I loved the Pork Belly. Had intended ordering Dessert but main meal was so substantial we had to decline. Next time we will order something smaller so we can try them as they looked amazing coming out. Have no complaints about Sittella and will definitely be returning despite the long drive for us.<br/><br/><br/>-----16 Aug, 2013-----<br/><br/>Maggie. Returned to this lovely Restaurant on Wed and took along two Friends who hadn't eaten there before. We weren't disappointed as usual, and they were impressed. The food was all plated up beautifully and cooked to perfection.<br/>They, like us, will be returning very soon as it is well worth the long drive.

Nice foods but poor service. Nice view, good setting, tasty foods BUT, poor & slow service.

I can only say poor poor poor.<br/>After going to sitella previously I thought we would take our friend from Sydney .<br/>What a mistake MASSIVE<br/>Closes at 4 but refused at three for desserts and coffee . The waitresses excuse was its been a big day sorry were closed. So typical of Perth. You must be making heaps of money to refuse service. So here we are at olive farm spending heaps of money. Your loss !

Beautiful Swan Valley setting. We went for lunch as usaul. Lovely freindly staff and the food is usually excellent. I always have the oysters kilpatrick, but this time they were tiny, burnt and had a bbq sauce or something instead of worcester. The rest of the meal was not the usual standard, but the wine was good value. I just think the chef had an off day. Will try again soon and hope the chef is feeling better.

Lunch. Came here on Easter Sunday for lunch . The winery is in a beautiful setting over looking the vineyard . Excellent wines . Unfortunately the food was very average . I had the Duck Confit . This dish should not have left the kitchen . The duck was overcooked and tasted like rubber . I did complain but not heard . My husband had the rabbit parpadelle . It was difficult to find the rabbit but tasty .<br/>After this experience we decided not to order dessert but ordered coffee. The coffee was extremely bitter .<br/>We have d frequently dined at this restaurant, sadly to say this will be the last
Cheryl
Lovely ambiance makes up for the rushed service, average quality food and CBD prices. Nice afternoon nonetheless.
Amy
Great place...not so great food. A lovely setting in the swan valley but the food was disappointing. <br/><br/>The pumpkin tart was undercooked and bland. The pork belly was dry and lacked any flavour. Did not stick around to try dessert...
Caroline
Hadn't been for three years due to living interstate but recently revisited due to a big family function. This place is lovely. We had friendly and professional service. Kids menu is best value we have ever encountered, $22.50 for three good sized courses (and real food, not just chicken nuggets and chips). Good priced wine. Recommend entree sharing plates to start.
Mandito
Very poor. Such a shame, hopefully it was just the time of year (post christmas).<br/>Pork was awful - two people on our table ordered it and it wasnt crispy crackling, it was gluggy fat. I had the beef, which was a good cut and cooked well but the hand cut panko fries was TWO chunks of potato. The field mushroom was a tiny single piece of mushroom. It wasnt how it read on the menu at all. Meals served with old school 80s style vegetables, blanched with no seasoning. Terrible service - no one could crack a smile.
Natalie
Most amazing restaurant! Always greeted by polite waiters, wine glasses are never left to go empty, always filled by your waiter before they have a chance to go warm. The Sparkling Chenin is absolutely divine! Food is alwaya fabulous! Have been for lunch and dinner multiple times and never had a bad thing to say about Sittella!
Glen
Expensive, Null tasting food. We had the not so nice experiance of a lunch at Sittella to do a tasting for our wedding. Never before had a crab cake with no crab or a steak that I did not eat half of. Investigating the pricing for our wedding show'd thay would sell mid strength beer for $9.50 without any negoitation. Has anyone paid $9.50 for a mid strentgh beer any where in the world?
Bunyip007
We came here for my wife's birthday. The setting is lovely and makes you forget you are in the swan valley. We both had oysters to start which were plump and salty. My wife had the duck confit which was a good portion however just a little over cooked. I had the rabbit parpadelle. Very tasty and a very good portion. The wines were good and the kids well behaved. We will be back.
Hippokathy88
Disappointing. We just came back from lunch and we were a little bit disappointed about the food. Our entree seemed to be a bit over-priced at $21.5 for 3 scallops and a little bit of risotto. My friend ordered the salmon with prawns, while the salmon was cooked to her liking, the prawns were cold and tasteless. My kangaroo loin was nice even though it was a bit over and not medium-rare as I ordered. The vegetables on my plate were also cold. Presentation wise nothing was spectacular. Despite the good reviews from other diners, we were not impressed. We've been to many restaurants in the Swan Valley and this was far from interesting. Do yourselves a favour and head over to Caversham House with a more creative menu and better service.
Ang
Disappointed with Sittella Winery. 4 of us had lunch at Sittella Winery - we were all disappointed. I had heard mixed reviews from work mates but decided to try it out for myself. Staff were less than friendly and food was expensive - but nothing special. Kangaroo - was supposed to be cooked 'medium' arrived pink and bloody, the lamb rack which was supposed to be 'well done' also arrived pink and bloody. The response from the Sittella staff was ' well it can't be cooked again!" (sweet and coffee were good.) Wont be returning as there are lots of other places to choose from.

Gorgeous!!!. Went for lunch with a voucher we received as a wedding present....beautiful surroundings and lovely waitress Kelly, who was always smiling, knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble. We started with the share plate which had a huge variety of different morsels, very, very nice. We then had the scallops with risotto which was lovely, and cooked to perfection. Had the King Prawns and Pork Belly, both devine. Finished off sharing the Rhubarb and Apple Crumble with Prune and Armangnac Icecream, which was absolutely delicious.....With a bottle of wine and a coffee, $142.00, very reasonable indeed.
Krystel
Amazing, amazing, AMAZING!! <br/>Could not fault Sitella at all! Had the share plate for entree.. Was plenty between the 4 of us. I had the pork belly and it was to die for. Mum had the scallops which were cooked to perfection and dad had the Scotch fillet, which he asked to be cooked very well done and was very impressed! Would recommend Sitella to everyone and would go back again and again!
Luke
Food and service here are great...expensive though, and meals are smallish so have plenty of bread and try the deserts.
Janeo
Called in at 3pm for a bottle of wine and cheese platter. It took us over an hour to finish the wine as it was a while coming. The staff packed up(moving tables, chairs) around us and other patrons. The view is beautiful, the wine nice and a good cheese platter.
Jason
Great service and the food was tasty and well presented. generous portions. recommended!

Wedding woes. Sittella winery is popular for weddings but I've found few reviews. I was married at Sittella winery and I must say the food and service were all incredible. Unfortunatley Sittella has a major problem with its sewerage system, after six pm the whole place smelt foul. When we spoke to staff we were advised that it always smelt this way and no one else complained. I'm still frustrated by the lack of acknowledgement there was even a problem. They may have gotten it fixed by now, but I regret having my wedding there which is a shame as I hope to only get married once!
Joe
I've been to Sittella three times before and have always enjoyed the food and service. Today though, the experience was terrible. Less than friendy service and all coursed bland. Very disappointing experience!
Pauline
Awful Lunch. Went there years ago and it was very good. Not now though. The oysters were tasteless as if they had been soaked in water with diced canned mango on top.<br/>The scollops were also tasteless. The risotto had very little taste other than cream.<br/>The dessert was a crumble which was okay but it had been heated in the microwave so the top was soggy not crunchy.<br/>The bread rolls were delicious<br/>It's such a shame because it has a lovely outlook. I think they need a new chef.

Great Sunday Lunch. We dined at Sittella's last Sunday with friends. Our waitress was attentive and friendly without being intrusive, the food was fantastic, and arrived at our table in a timely manner. Will still remain one of our favourite spots to meet up with friends and family for a meal.
Mrs G
Yet another wonderful lunch with a magnificent view. Great kiddies menu too.
Simon
Great new menu. Went to sittella last week and they have changed the menu.Food was fantastic and the setting seems better than it ever has been looking out of the vineyards from the verandah.Cannt wait to go back and try some the new dishes
Tanya Hay
Amazing. Today my partner & I experienced Sittella Winery for the first time and I have to say that the food was amazing and the service was fantastic even though they were fully booked.<br/><br/>I would highly recommend sittella if you are looking for something nice to do for lunch, it over looks beautiful vineyards and the food o my god the food was to die for.<br/><br/>we will be back that's for sure, its nice to find a place in Perth were they actually provide customer service as I have notice there is a lack of this in Perth<br/><br/>o and I was soooooo full I couldn't even try the amazing deserts so next time watch out mmmm

Recent visit. Seeking a place to take my daughter visiting from the US<br/>while driving thru the Valley we decided to stop into Sittella. We arrived around 2 and was told if we wanted to eat there , we had to order by 2.30. ,we had some other guests who still had to catch up and were going to be late, which I had advised Sittella.<br/>I ordered entree for them and as soon as they arrived were asked to order the mains. My quests were not offered a drink?( funny I thought it was a Winery?) and after the mains we were ingnored and not offered coffee or deserts.<br/> If you are not going to give your customers the full experience it would have been kinder to say they were not taking anymore customers. Giving bad service has no excuse if you have accepted to seat us. It has left a very sour taste .
Pete
Great. What a lovely way to spend a sunday service was good very friendly. <br/>Main and dessert was a entree but I asked for main size and they were happy to do this pork bellie and scollops lovely the person with me had fish of the day great again <br/>dessert well I had the crumble that was not good the icecream with it was lovely though<br/>we also orderd a strawberry dish that was nice .<br/>The glass of wine was a little small for the price but would go back .
Farmergirl
Ordinary. Went to lunch Saturday. Wine quality has definitely slipped, food was ordinary. Desserts sickly and very short on fruit, especially the strawberry basket. Staff completely occupied with setting up a wedding, very disappointing.
Orla
Very Average, too pricey!. Average, ordinary food - cafe quality, not what I had previously enjoyed at Sitella's. No particular stand-out dishes on our table of 5. We had lunch today. For entree, a tasting plate to share and a turkish bread with dips - OK. We had salmon, steak and chicken for the mains. All are well cooked, but lacking in real taste and flair really. Overall, fairly bland tasting, and too expensive for what was on offer.
Tabitha Berger
Lovely food. The second time I've been and wasn't disappointed in either visit - once was with a wedding party that the whole place was booked for, the second time a friends birthday for Sunday lunch. We shared the tasting plate as an entre which was lovely. I had the pork belly with scallops for a main and shared a chocolate tasting plate for desert. <br/>Meal was fantastic. Everyone pretty pleased except my husband who had the rack of lamb that was undercooked.<br/>Highly recommend!
Carolann Desmond
Wonderful. This is the place to go.<br/>It is one of those rare restaurants where you can't decide what to order because it is all so good.<br/>The service, food and view are all so well worth the drive.
Lala
Beautiful. Friendly, mature and courteous staff and beautiful surroundings compliment the great food and smoth tasty wine. Thanks...we will return soon ;)

Disappointing. Certainly not the first visit to Sittellas but may be the last. Sittela's complete lack of customer service has been something I have been familiar with for years. However I have been willing to overlook it to some degree due to the wonderful vineyard views and the delicious food. Today the service lived up to my expectations - waiters doing everything they can to avoid eye contact or even worse pretending they don't see you when your eyes meet. A a result of this - reliably slow order taking and meals arriving. The food however no longer shone above this expected and presumed glitch in the glorious day in the valley. For entree I had natural oysters - the only way to eat them in my humble opinion. Unfortunately by eating them natural there is no way to mask lack of freshness through layers of flavouring, they were fishy and strong tasting rather than salty freshness. For main I had fish of the day - a pink snapper on a bed of potato mash and vegetables. The fish was generous in serving size but overcooked and dry. The mash serve was so small it was barely visible and was under seasoned and bland. The accompanying veggies consisted of one over boiled piece of broccoli and one piece of cauliflower with two carrot sticks. Again totally tasteless. Service 4/10, food 5/10, venue 7/10

Simply Lovely. What is going on? I can not believe i have missed this winery. I have been living here in Perth for 4.5 yrs, so much catching up to do.<br/>My partner and i ate here on the pulic holiday. It was very busy the staff were rushed off their feet but never the less they were friendly and courteous.<br/>The food is modern and mouth watering.<br/>A good tip is take your time to eat at this hidden gem as eat course is worth the wait (sweets are to die for).<br/>Wines are well worth tasting.<br/>So in a nut shell a must visit in a beautiful location, we will be returning in the not too distant future. ENJOY!

Great lunch with grapes. I have visited sittella twice with my family and it has been good, the meats are cooked to perfection, food is tasty and seasoned correctly, the only criticism i have is the pasta's are very ordinary, gluggy and unimaginative as well as the tasting plate lacks also. But the food is prepared with chefs that obviously have talent and warm friendly staff that even remember the last time you were in. All up great for a break from wine tasting and a bite to eat.
LGFantastic
Wonderful. I love coming here the service and food is excellent with bonus wine tasting - couldn't ask for better and you won't be disappointed :-)

Great food - especially the deserts!! Staff were lovely although they were disorganized. Nice view if you are on the balcony and also nice inside. 4.5/5

Food and service has always been very good. So this where we have chosen to enjoy our wedding day this Summer
Annie
Great view, s-l-o-w service.. Saturday lunch. Table for 3. Seated inside by door. A bit drafty so we asked to be moved. Relocated onto balcony. Lovely view. Menu not very inventive. The only gluten free option was a chicken pot roast. I enquired if they could do the lamb or beef gluten free. Was told problem was with the sauces and the sauce makes the dish, but if I wanted it without sauce, they could do it. Ok went with the chargrilled beef with smoked roma tomato minus the tiger prawns. We had a 11/2 hour wait for our mains after our tasting plate. Reserve shiraz was great, but bottle almost emptied whilst waiting for main. When mains finally came out, they all looked the same, except 1 was chicken, 1 was lamb and 1 was beef..all on bed of mash with bland looking veges and little seasoning. I had 2 micro size baby roma tomatoes. Lamb was meant to be garlic crusted with minted mash...obviously they ran out of garlic and mint as there was no hint of mint or garlic taste. Staff did apologise for the lateness of the main...they said they were busy with some big groups. <br/>Overall, a disappointing experience. Staff were pleasant, however, obviously, under pressure.
