Amazing food, my first Nepalese food and was blown away with the depth of flavour in such a simple chicken dish next time we on Hobart we will be back
Friendly quick and helpful service too
Very pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. Dishes were delish. Very reasonably priced. Cute village setting in Battery Point. Worth the wander.
Very friendly staff, great food. We sat outside in thr evening which had a nice ambience, however all the tables outside are wobbly which was an unwanted challenge ;)
Awesome food! Had the banquet and they accommodated for one vegetarian and two non vegetarians, made us a special menu. It was all delicious and great service, friendly staff. Only downside was they seemed to forget about us for dessert. They had a big function on so I think they were under pressure but once they realised they got it to us very quickly!
Great service. Delicious, authentic food in a comfortable setting. Average main meal about $20. Attentive helpful wait staff. BYO. Would definitely return and recommend
Found this little gem while scrolling through zomato and decided to give it a try based on it's high rating. Was not disappointed at all. The dumplings were made really well, paired with the spiced sauce, it made the perfect entrée for us. The soup of the day - mushroom & lentil did not disappoint as well. For the mains we ordered the vegetable thakali, macha masala (fish), seafood pot and some rotis. The curries were hands-down made really well, with its earthy & rich flavours humming the moment it reaches your tastebuds. Note that the dishes were served real hot (temperature) as well which is perfect for cold days. The fish dish was reallyyy good and tasted superb when eaten with roti. However, was pretty shock with the size of the dish and found the food pretty pricey. The rice we ordered was real fragrant so if you love rice you'll be satisfied here!
The ambience was pretty cool and homey. It had that Nepalese feel to it. The service was not too bad as well. Overall great dining experience and wouldn't mind coming over again & again if it weren't for us coming over for a vaca.
This place is run by friendly staff who are attentive, welcoming and happy to accommodate allergies. The entrees were over priced for what they were, so we'd avoid them next time. However, the main courses were delicious and authentic, so we'll return and share a couple more mains instead. A must try!
Nailed it!. After having eaten around Nepal, this restaurant authentically recreates those simple, tradition dishes. You can't go past their momo's!
Delicious and hearty food. Wonderful meal. Chose the banquet for a varied mix of dishes- standouts were (surprisingly) the mushroom and lentil soup starter and the vegetarian mo mo's (dumplings). Curries were fantastic too.
Enjoyed Immensely. What a wonderful restaurant, hidden gem, would highly recommend Kathmandu Cuisine as a must visit while in Hobart. Food was amazing. The entree Kathmandu Special was one of the most complex, delicious foods I have ever tried, sweet and savoury, entree and dessert in the one dish, must try. Goat curry was exceptional. Staff were wonderful, not in your face however there for all your needs. Will definitely visit again when in hobart.
Nepalese food was on the agenda this time and I hadn't been in Battery Point for a long time so going to Kathmandu Cuisine ticked both boxes. Finding parking around the area was a small challenge but that's the norm for the area.
There's a very comfortable atmosphere within and the waitress was welcoming and possessed a very friendly service. For a small building it didn't feel cramped inside.
I started off with vegetable Singada dish which was delicious and made me eager for the main. I went for the Dal Bhat Masu with chicken and loved the layout of the food and different flavours each portion gave me. I decided to compliment all of this with a drink of Sherpa beer. Although initially I thought that it may not be quite enough I found out that the meal was quite filling. It all cost around $45 which was very good value as the quality was very good.
If you're in the mood for some Nepalese cuisine I would definitely recommend you try them.
We had a beautiful meal at this restaurant. The meal was well cooked. Presented well. Explanation on how to eat was given by the waitress. Good value for money . Will come back for more.
This was a cute and cosy spot to enjoy some warm and nourishing food on a very cold evening. We were made to feel welcomed and hospitality was excellent throughout our meal. We got a range of menu items and all were a delight.
Great little joint for hearty Nepalese food. Lovely wholesome flavours with great service. Word of caution though who cant handily spicy food...go with extra mild. Food is awesome but slightly on the spicy side.
We popped in on a Thursday night and were extremely happy. Junior1 was famished and just wanted a burger. Staff suggested a chicken dish, poleko kukhura, instead. It was delicious and Junior1 devoured it. We also ordered mixed entree, spring rolls, a goat curry and some roti. The food was amazing and the service friendly. A day later and Junior2 is still saying how "amazing" the dinner was.
Homely food with good quantity. The service and the locations is very good. Special shout out to the mango lassi. It's reall heavy and tastes good. Also it's halal.
