Thanks so much Josh, the new chef at Tasman, bringing your impressive Melbourne restaurant experience to Tasmania. The scallops, oysters, salmon and pumpkin gnocchi all blew us away, all cleansed beautifully by the watermelon pomegranate & baby rocket salad. But then you wowed us with the light and deliciously fruity raspberry & vanilla mousseline with candied hazelnuts and fresh blueberries & raspberries with a thin vein of fruit of the forest jam. Not to mention the cheese selection of soft and creamy cumin sprinkled Brie, sharp local cheddar and earthy blue vein coupled beautifully with a crisp, tasty variety of house made seeded lavosh and tasty orange myrtle marmalade. We left your restaurant feeling thrilled at how dedicated you were to showcasing the spectacular local produce at your disposal that when we sent compliments to the chef, you made a special effort to come and share with us your vision and we are so excited at the prospect of what new amazing menu you might create for our next visit.

My wife and i spent our first night of our honeymoon out to dinner at Tasman Restaurant. We had an amazing dining experience and enjoyed the meals so much!! The food was just absolutely amazing! The staff was so friendly, professional and helpful, giving us some suggestions on places to go after dinner, that made our first night even better. 10/10 would recommend this place for dinner! And thank you so much.

We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The service was top notch and food was the best we had during our stay in Hobart. It’s a “fine dining” experience while still being family friendly, with the added bonus of its premium location and harbour views. The cheese soufflé and the gnocchi were the best we’ve ever had, plus the wine menu was impressive. Thank you for a memorable experience. We will definitely eat here again next time we visit!

Excellent food, very tasty using some local food, gluten free options, lovely views, quiet so you can talk together. Will dine there again. The seafood chowder is amazing and their chicken breast apple salad very good. Friendly helpful staff. Pricing a bit expensive.
