Review The Lansdowne Cafe - Hobart

Daniel Jacob
The coffee is ok. My fancy little cake was nice - the moody barista called it a "freont"... But I'm not cultured or worldly enough to know what that is. I felt unwelcome and out of place here. It's a hipster, soy-latté serving coffee shop that's not worth going out of your way for. There's another one nearby called pigeon hole and though it's a Hobart mile away, it's all down hill.

A great liitle street cafe with stunning views from the foot of Mt Wellington in Hobart, Tas on Landsdowne Cres. Delicious berry and cream waffles and coffee. Well worth a visit. A good and pleasant atmosphere.

5 stars doesn't do this place justice! The breakfasts are amazing, and good value for money too. Coffee is good, as is the chai latte. The buttermilk hotcakes with bacon and grilled banana and the cornbread French toast with bacon and smoked maple syrup were both amazing.

On a friend's recommendation I popped to The Lansdowne for breakfast whilst visiting nipaluna. Delighted to work my way through the huevos rancheros and a long black and I couldn't fault either of them, or the service. Great way to start the day.

It took a while to get our breakfast, once we got it the experience was amazing. I ordered the huevos rancheros, my best advice is be hungry, it is a big, yummy plate...

'Twas the morning of my partners 27th birthday... After a short walk up the hill, we sat down to a pot of French Earl Grey, the deliciously fragrant and hot tea was a perfect start to the day. Upon reading the specials board, we knew we were in for something special. We ordered a dish of poached eggs, mushrooms, tarragon hollandaise & greens, as well as a dish of poached eggs, corn fritters, avocado & bacon. I've only ever had 3 perfect meals in my life, and this was one of them. Along with the lovely service, relaxed ambience and the company of my beautiful woman, I can honestly say this was the best breakfast/dining experience I've had in Hobart. I've only met you once, Lansdowne Cafe... But I feel as if I already love you <3

Had breakfast here, so hard to choose something as many items on the menu appealed to me. My meal was lovely, couldn’t fault it, great service and excellent value for money. Will definitely return. A little hidden gem!!!

My Dad, who is 88 and has enjoyed numerous bacon based meals over the decades reckons he has just eaten the "best egg and bacon roll" he has ever experienced. Damn good coffee too.

This place is one of my favourites... you can expect excellent food and service. The breakfasts are everything you want from a cafe i.e. fresh, hearty, filling (I recommend getting their house-made creamed corn with your brekky as it's SO good), and having sampled almond croissants around Hobart - theirs is always the best.

The slow cooked lamb and the pulled pork are as good as it gets, I shouldn't be saying this though as it's hard enough to get a table as it is . top food and top people which is rare these days

Best food by Laura! Best customer service by Simon! Best coffee made by Warren! My favourite place to eat, sip on coffee and to chat with my friends and the super friendly staff.

Superb food, great staff. Ask about their complimentary tea-towel napkin service for large, messy gentlemen eating breakfast in fancy suits.

Waiting for the final reno on my flat just down the road from here and then i don't know how I am going to keep away from the place but will definitely work my way through the menu although i cant seem to get past the cornbread breakfast

Excellent food, 4 of us tried smashed avo with halumi, lamb shoulder, lentil burger and blueberry butter milk hot cakes with lemon curd (that one was a special) all very very happy, lamb tender with a crisp skin, smashed avo wonderful mix of flavours, lentil burger excellent and the cakes sublime!

Best almond latte in town. They’re always accomodating with my menu changing quirks. Perfect weekend spot.

We only had iced coffee in Hobart but reckon it's got to be the best iced coffee in Hobart.

Another fantastic lunch at the wonderful Lansdowne Crescent Cafe. A local favourite - the staff are fantastic and friendly, the food is always in generous portions, beautifully prepared and presented, the coffee is always strong and delicious and the atmosphere sits in a special place in between buzzing and cosy.

Went here for breakfast last weekend and it was very busy. I had scrambled eggs with bacon and potato rosti. The eggs were delicious and the rosti was crispy on the outside and not greasy at all. Only complaint was the bacon was very salty and my smoothy was too frozen to drink, but it melted after a while. Friendly service and overall good value. Will be back soon.

Corn bread French toast!. Yummo, one of my favourite breaky dishes in Hobart. Thick corn bread French toast with rocket, truss tomatoes and a smoky maple syrup.
I would totally recommend this dish.
My son ordered a got chocolate caramel which was yummy for those with a (mega) sweet tooth. It was like a liquid Mars Bar.

Great coffee, friendly service and a real support of "regulars", and the food is lovely too. I had blueberry buckwheat pancakes, my friend had the omelette which also looked lovely.

Yummy!. Great spot for breakfast or a catch-up over coffee. There are lots of tasty breakfast options and our favourite is the corncake with eggs, rocket & little oven-roasted tomatoes still on the vine. The coffee is good and the staff are always friendly and happy.
Away from the hustle & bustle, the cafe is surrounded by gorgeous little houses in West Hobart, a great place to take a stroll after breakfast.
