Love the coffee at Vilicia and was excited to try the new place. Pleasantly surprised to find what is possibly the best eggs benedict that I've ever eaten. Well done guys!
Great coffee, food, and atmosphere with friendly staff. This is my new favourite café, also partly because it's more accessible driving from Kingborough than going through the middle of town. (The sweet treats in the display at the counter are always too good to pass up!)
One of our best visited in Tasmania, the coffee was great, the food was interesting and delicious, not to mention their friendly service, definitely would like to revisit again.
This place is lovely! We had the miso noodles, pork salad, Halloumi fries and two batch brews. The dishes were all different, tasty and wholesome. The batch, was also solid as is expected of coffee by Ona. The fitout was simple and cozy and the staff were pleasant. Check it out :)
This menu was super cool and actually reminded us of Melbourne! A Japanese inspired take on the modern brunch scene. The cafe was busy so food did take a while to come out but it was worth the wait.
What we ordered:
Peanut butter, salt and pepper tofu bao
Benedict with master stock braised ham hock
French fries dashi furikake seasoning with burnt chili mayo
When the tofu first arrived, I initially thought ‘oh I’m going to be hungry with only two bao’. I was very wrong..bursting in flavor this heavy meal hit the spot. The Benedict was flavoursome and though ham hock is not necessarily my thing, the dish was very well done. Fries is always a winner to us but the seasoning on these bad boys was damn good.
Great breakfast!
Ambiance is lovely, the abundance of indoor plants gives it a super fresh feel inside.
The service was prompt, and the food nice and quick.
The food was delicious and the coffee was great!
Would definitely come back, wish we had found this place earlier in our travels!
A clean and friendly environment just outside the city centre. The brioche rolls melted in the mouth and the ham and cheese croissant with the bechamel sauce was absolutely delicious, was just a little bit too toasted for me. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick, yummy brekky!
Best coffee and brekkie in Tassie! One of the best chefs from Melbourne is now treating Tasmanians to his skills. Clever unique and always delicious food guaranteed! Would catch the spirit down every weekend if I could.
Don't give many reviews online but on this occasion I was so impressed with the food, service and coffee that I want others to know about it. Will be back again for sure.
Best cafe in the area hands down. The head chef keeps the menu updated and fresh with delicious new dishes that really sets the standard of what a 5 star cafe can be. Great coffee tops off the experience. You will not be disappointed if you visit!
Definitely a stand out cafe on our visit to Hobart. We had wanted to go to few other cafes however being Australia Day public holidays lots of the cafes we had earmarked were closed. Thankfully for us one of our party had suggested this cafe and boy were we lucky. It was quite busy but they could accommodate our group and glad we stumbled on this place as it was an excellent choice.
We sat on the large communal table and water was quickly brought out and coffee orders taken. The service is fantastic here and we were taken care of. They use Ona coffee and it was probably the best we had all trip so thumbs up to them.
We all ordered different dishes and there was a spread of savoury and sweet dishes. I had chosen the Benedict With Master Stock Braised Smoked Ham Hock. It was the best brunch dish I’ve had all trip. Melt in them mouth ham atop layers of potato galette and topped with perfectly poached eggs and cider hollandaise. Crisp apple adds contrast to the dish. In fact the whole table were completely satisfied with their dishes which doesn’t always happen often!
Hope this newish cafe does well as they definitely have the makings of a great combo between food and service!
Thanks to the knowledge of my hip little brother and trendy girlfriend, we found this cafe in South Hobart and were pleased to find it open on Australia Day, especially when pretty much everything was closed. We enter into this good sized cafe with a little lounge area and the front, and plenty of tables inside and a huge shared table where we sat. The space is fresh and modern with lots of greenery and the ambience is buzzing and it has a really positive vibe about it. Our waitress was excellent and very hospitable.
Trendy cafe with original dishes or tweaked classics. My daughter and I both had breakfast salad for lunch, hers with halloumi and mine with salmon. The salad contains broccoli, avocado and sultanas plus more that blends into a delightful light mixture We also had excellent coffee good service despite it getting busy.
Food was delicious 😋. I ordered noodles which were cold ( I wish it was mention somewhere) and Tofu was hot. It was yum but I am not a fan of cold food.
Just went here. Food was delicious. Service is amazing. Staff were so lovely even after an order mix up. I hate paying for cups of tea out but it was perfectly steeped before it came to the table, leaves removed so I could drink the second cup without it being bitterly strong - loved that!
So many yummy things on the menu that we had trouble deciding.
Snowball biscuit in the cabinet 10/10 delicious. Can’t wait to come back.
Great food selection, variety of dishes and they are very conscious of dietary requirements.
Brunch fine dining, but in a comfy local sort of way. Exquisite food expertly combining rich flavours into unique dishes you (for the most part) wouldn’t find anywhere else. I had the triple cheese truffle brioche toastie and was blown away. The butterbings in the front cabinet are also to die for. And lovely service to top it all off. Just be warned - no split bills on the weekends.
Very good food with great coffee.
Loved their fusion style food adopting and understanding various countries' food style. Their adventurous and creative access to food is quite successful.
So delicious we came here 5 days in a row!! Great coffee, great food, great service. We will be back next time we are in Hobart.
Their dandan noodles absolutely blew my mind. It had a very complex flavor profile that complimented each other like a melody. The combination of salty from the pork mince with sour from the pickles and lastly sweetness from the sesame sauce. And a kick of spice from the hot oil. Hands down best dandan noodles I’ve ever had, I want to travel back to Hobart just for this cafe.
Their smoked salmon bagel with dill cream cheese was also amazing. The bagel was so well toasted as the exterior was really crisp. The salmon was also slightly cooked with onions and capers, everything together was delicious.
Can’t wait to come back
