I have been visiting a family member on Hope Island to escape the Adelaide winter for a week. She promised me a treat - lunch at Jonez - and what a treat it turned out to be. We have previously sampled several restaurants in Sanctuary Cove and the surrounding area.
Today's visit to Jonez was on a different level altogether. We were immediately delighted by the restaurant's situation, decor and ambiance. The attentive waiter was very personable, and at the same time, quietly unobtrusive.
Neither Kale nor a Wood Oven was in evidence; just an exceptional and thoughtfully written menu, which made choosing our meal a very interesting and rewarding experience
The presentation of the entrees, a terrine and a dish of crumbed tongue, was nothing short of perfect, in looks, taste and quantity.
For the main course we both chose the duck with its' delightful and delicate accompaniments.
I couldn't resist the dessert menu and chose a delicious rhubarb crumble; we both had a tasty coffee to round off the meal.
Altogether our experience at Jonez was truly memorable, and of an exceptionally high standard
Well done everybody😊😊😊
Had dinner at this nice restaurant located just opposite to the Black Angus Bar & Grill. Was allocated a table at the al fresco dining area. Service was attentive and friendly. Ordered the crumble of sucking pig & sweet pork belly, Seafood Chowder for entrees and lamb rump and wagyu skirt for the mains with additional crepe suzette to share for the dessert. Presentation of the pork entrée was good but the two-way idea did not make me excited. Even it was not mentioned to be made of suckling pig, we could not tell by the pull-pork texture with the crumble and the pork belly lacked of crunchy skin. Seafood Chowder was not bad but could be more creamy. However, the freshness and amount of seafood gained marks back. The main of wagyu skirt was not tender however the sautéed forest mushroom saved the dish. Lamb rump was hero the night. the creamed cabbage and bacon, the gratin of parsnip and potato were all perfectly matched with the med-rare lamb rump. Thumb up! Dessert of crepe suzette was another surprise, particularly with the theatre effect of flame pouring on the crepes. Like! Overall, not a bad dining experience.
Top service and beautiful food! They happily cater for any dietary requirements you may have. Menu often changes and has some really exciting offerings. Highly recommend.
Set price for 2 or 3 courses.
Love it! Worth the drive to sanctuary Cove! Have dined here many times and it has always been amazing. Especially the dessert platter and the chefs Japanese tasting plate!
I attended a corporate function and was not expecting too much. In my experience Gold Coast food is very hit or miss.
Well Jonez was a hit!
We had perfect staff - super attentive and helpful but warm. And I am not exaggerating when I say I had the best steak of my life here. Eye fillet with mash and greens - it was unbelievable, the softest juiciest most perfect steak ever. My husband agreed.Â
We will return for this steak... and the super yummy white chocolate creme brulee.
We came here for a family birthday dinner and loved everything. The food was superb and the plating was perfection! Beautiful wine, dessert was amazing. The waiter was attentive and helpful. It was a winter night & there were plenty of heaters around and we even got some sneaky free music from a nearby restaurant! The only downfall was that one of the other waitresses was not fully knowledgable about the menu. I would definitely come back here for a special occasion.
Just go!!!. Dinner out just because and mentioned Jonez because it has always popped up on Urban Spoon.... I cannot for the life of me think of a better dining experience; in all the time I have eaten out I do not believe the table has all agreed that every tiny bit of each and every meal was perfect. Ribs were perfect and served with the best Caesar dressing I have ever had on Cos as a side
Beautiful food - we were presented with an appetizer of scallops on arrival which was simply divine. We both had the specials of prawn dumplings and waygu skirt. Faultless. Impeccable service - absolutely recommended for a special dinner.
Everyone you must try Jonez on Food . Most amazing meals !! I had dinner there with my partner and we ended up having all 3 courses all of them soo beautifully presented and tastes amazing !!! The waiters and staff are all so lovely and helpful. It was a great experience and we'll defentaly go back soon
Stylish Mediterranean style restaurant in a lovely location close to the harbour at Sanctuary Cove. Food is presented well and excellent. The lady owner is charming but the other waiters are a little clueless.
Great to see such fine dining experiences on the coast. Friendly staff, great menu. It’s pricey but you get what you pay for!
Fine dining at its greatest. Wow the meals were incredible. Food was soo soo soo delicious. I am so happy. Came here on a Saturday and it was quiet so loved our dining experience as well. The food was soooo delicious I can not rate it high enough.
Delightful restaurant, beautifully situated overlooking the water. Full of regulars and guests celebrating birthdays and other special occasions.
The menu offers a broad selection across a range of culinary influences including French, UK, Australian / Asian fusion, with some interesting specials options as well.
A good focus on fresh produce, as well as providing some nostalgia inducing pangs for lovers of good European cuisine.
Definitely inspired to go back regularly and over time, eat my way through the entire menu. Not usually a dessert person but everything looked so good I gave in and tried a few. So good!
I noticed a duck press so am excited to try that and a steak tartare which they mentioned can be ordered especially sometimes too.
BYO was a bonus.
Jonez have moved from Sanctuary Cove to Ephram Island. So now I have to drive a little further from Brisbane for my favorite restaurant. The food is always first class and I know I can take someone there and the quality wiil not fail me. It is simply superb. The only issue I have, the desserts.... too hard to choose. So I am working my way through them all!
Could be the best restaurant on the Gold Coast. Very reasonably priced considering it's fine dining. I like that they don't charge you extra for vegetables or potatoes to make it a complete meal. Dessert is very generous, and amazing to look at. Probably the best presentation desserts I've seen. Well done.
Fantastic food. Everything is well cooked and tasty.
The most delicious food, and wonderful atmosphere. I could not fault this meal in any way, the presentation was top class and the taste even better!
Amazing!!!!!
Have never had a poor experience here. Both of my parents chose this place for their birthday celebrations this year and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our food. We indulged in 3 courses each and a few bottles of wine and desert cocktails. The service was impeccable and our most recent waiter guessed our every need. I got a surprise cocktail without even ordering and then everyone else on the table liked it so much they ordered one too. Can not fault this place!!
