I have been visiting a family member on Hope Island to escape the Adelaide winter for a week. She promised me a treat - lunch at Jonez - and what a treat it turned out to be. We have previously sampled several restaurants in Sanctuary Cove and the surrounding area.
Today's visit to Jonez was on a different level altogether. We were immediately delighted by the restaurant's situation, decor and ambiance. The attentive waiter was very personable, and at the same time, quietly unobtrusive.
Neither Kale nor a Wood Oven was in evidence; just an exceptional and thoughtfully written menu, which made choosing our meal a very interesting and rewarding experience
The presentation of the entrees, a terrine and a dish of crumbed tongue, was nothing short of perfect, in looks, taste and quantity.
For the main course we both chose the duck with its' delightful and delicate accompaniments.
I couldn't resist the dessert menu and chose a delicious rhubarb crumble; we both had a tasty coffee to round off the meal.
Altogether our experience at Jonez was truly memorable, and of an exceptionally high standard
Well done everybodyđđđ
Had dinner at this nice restaurant located just opposite to the Black Angus Bar & Grill. Was allocated a table at the al fresco dining area. Service was attentive and friendly. Ordered the crumble of sucking pig & sweet pork belly, Seafood Chowder for entrees and lamb rump and wagyu skirt for the mains with additional crepe suzette to share for the dessert. Presentation of the pork entrée was good but the two-way idea did not make me excited. Even it was not mentioned to be made of suckling pig, we could not tell by the pull-pork texture with the crumble and the pork belly lacked of crunchy skin. Seafood Chowder was not bad but could be more creamy. However, the freshness and amount of seafood gained marks back. The main of wagyu skirt was not tender however the sautéed forest mushroom saved the dish. Lamb rump was hero the night. the creamed cabbage and bacon, the gratin of parsnip and potato were all perfectly matched with the med-rare lamb rump. Thumb up! Dessert of crepe suzette was another surprise, particularly with the theatre effect of flame pouring on the crepes. Like! Overall, not a bad dining experience.
Top service and beautiful food! They happily cater for any dietary requirements you may have. Menu often changes and has some really exciting offerings. Highly recommend.
