Best Chinese I've ever had! Especially loved the helpful staff, good portion sizes and atmosphere. Would recommend! Still great after going there for years.
Consistently excellent with lovely staff. Next time I'm in Sydney I'll be getting my special dry chilli beef from Ben for sure!
Love the place. Food always tastes fresh and isn't overly oily. Owners & staff are absolutely lovely. Can't recommended it enough
We had the opportunity to eat yum cha at the Art of Dining event where House of Canton had a stall. We had yum cha dumplings and some delicious mango pancakes. They were quite small, but still very tasty.
Best Chinese Food in Hornsby! Best dish would be their specialty dish 'Creamy Avocado King Prawns and Chicken!' Nice cozy chinese restaurant that has alot of potential!
-Good quantity and quality food for its price ranges
-Good atmosphere
-Good customer service
Will definitely be back for more sweet and sour pork!
My favourite, go-to Chinese restaurant in Hornsby, yum cha is fast and everything is fresh out of the kitchen - you can taste it! Staff are very welcoming, gets very busy during peak hour lunch which is good, love the duck noodles and the salt and pepper prawns. Great cocktails too
This restaurant is Hornsby's hidden gem! Their food is always delicious and hot and the service is fantastic. I was in there recently with my family and my two favourite was the singapore noodles and sweet and sour pork. The singapore noodles was a beautiful dry dish with a focus on the noodles rather than being heavy on the meat and the sweet and sour pork was just perfect. You can find sweet and sour pork at all chinese restaurants but this place makes their own sauce and i honestly haven't had better. Would definitely recommend to everyone and i always keep going back!
My go to place for a quick fix for hunger. The food comes pretty prompt and is always fresh
A good portion size too. Friendly staff. It's never over crowded and loud.
This restaurant is great food matched with great service. They have recently changed the decor and now it's a much nicer feel. Always very helpful. A hidden gem of Hornsby.
I usually drop in here after work when I'm too tired to deal with anything complicated. The food is cheerful and so are the staff. It isn't amazing food, but it's not bad for the price and location. Hardly ever busy, and the food arrives quickly - but not so quickly that you're left wondering if it is fresh or not.
Yumcha $5 dish promotion. The bbq pork bun was the highlight, delicate and delicious taste. I would skip xiao long bao as the taste was similar with frozen ones. The service was attentive, warm and pleasant. They speak English very well. Overall a good experience and it is a good option to go to in Hornsby area.
I have been coming here for over two years now and the quality of the food and the service provided by the staff is just as excellent and welcoming as it was the first time I was there! My favourites would have to be the mountain chicken and the salt and pepper prawns; served very quick and you can quite literally taste the freshness. For sure would recommend to all!
Had dinner there this time Peking Duck 3 course and rainbow beef both very nice rainbow beef my favourite.
From a couple of weeks ago...
$5 Yum Cha.
This place used to be a bit dark and dingy.
They refreshed everything sometime ago...
And now it is a seemingly hidden treasure.
They do Yum Cha everyday and only charge $5 per basket on weekends.
To clear up some lies/misstatements from other reviewers...
There is a minimum $10/head for the $5/basket YumCha.
If you cannot eat 2 baskets... Don't bother going there! :)
All the food my family tried was good. Some excellent.
The chicken feet were in my top feet of all time.
The pork ribs tender to melting.
The mango pancakes were small than generally found, but delicious.
Would not be surprised if they were actually using fresh mango in them.
All in all we sampled 13 baskets worth and not a fail among them.
Service was friendly and helpful.
I'm glad (for a change) I ate before I checked the reviews.
Not sure if some of the reviews are before the refit, or
whether some competitor has taken it upon themselves to
write them some dodgy 1 star reviews. Just cannot picture this place being 1 star even on a bad day.
Time will tell...
Will be sure to update review next time we go, which will be soon enough.
We have been regulars here for a couple of years. We are regulars because we have never had a bad meal here. We have dim sims here which are always hot and crisp and fresh. The service is always friendly and excellent. I am amazed by the bad reviews on this site for this restaurant. I could only assume that, as there are a lot of restaurants surrounding this area that perhaps the House of Canton must be a threat.
