Review Booker's Bistro - Hornsby

Can be very short staffed in evenings during the week. Quite possible to wait minutes for bar staff to get to the bar. They are no where to be seen at times (not even picking up glasses). If you miss happy hour cut-off because of missing bar staff, tough bloody luck. On the flip-side, a great selection of ales & spirits. The bar staff are personable. I haven't tried the food, but by all accounts nice and tasty at a good price. Food specials most nights.

We have visited a handful of times over the past few weeks and the Inn has become our local. The food is really good, I have to eat gluten free as I am ceoliac and they have a handful of gluten free options, which are good. The drinks menu appears to have changed, for the better, with some lovely cocktails and a good wine selection. We will be back for sure.

I really had no idea of what to expect when I arrived at The Hornsby Inn, but the proximity to the Hornsby Westfield, mall and train station made me feel good about the choice to stay there. The pub was built in 1967 and has 10 rooms. We stayed in Room 10, an executive room. The pub still carries its retro feel, but in a good way. You can see that renovations have occurred. The pub has a relaxed feel that we both enjoyed. Room 10 has a double bed, single bed and ensuite bathroom. There was a fridge that was very nicely stocked with enough food for a decent continental breakfast, there's a toaster and jug. The double bed was comfortable. The ambient temperature of the room was warm and we didn't need to use the wall-heater. There's no real air-conditioning. The room and bathroom were clean. Dinner at the pub's bistro was pretty good - actually the parmie I ordered was delicious. A good stay. Thank you.

Lunch meal today was nothing to rave about. Chicken Parma was below average n processed chicken meat and was not fresh. Coleslaw as a side salad was not appealing. Something I would expect from the frozen section of the coles freezer. The truffle chips was plain chips with herb spice, no hint of truffle in sight. This place has soooo much potential! Though the food needs a massive upgrade if you want people to come back.

Free Bands every Friday and Saturday, but Closes too early on Friday nights. Your bands should start at 8pm and go to 12am. Your bars shut at midnght, only pokie room is open. You are Licenced till 3am and noise restictions only come into force at midnight. So you should close later. Wouldn't that also make good business sense???

I'm on a circa 4000km road trip across the Eastern seaboard of the country going through the entirety of NSW via the coast. I booked two nights in the Hornsby Inn in Sydney's northern suburbs. Prices are cheap, the rooms are dated but functional, includes all the essentials, beds are on the softer side. The AC is one of those wall units, it works but I found I had to leave it on the entire stay to keep the room temperature nice and cool. Parking is a bit of an interesting affair, you need to come in the drive thru entrance on Hunter(?) Street, which is a one way driveway, which leads around the side of the building to the hotel parking, it's a bit tight so get your driving hat on. If you're traveling using the GPS then it'll lead you around the block a few times while you try figure how to get into the car park. But the pub itself is great, has all the usual gambling facilities, a good choice of beer on tap, food is cheaply priced and decent. I was there for the karaoke night and there was some serious talent on show! Wow Hornsby Inn karaoke night goes off! All the staff at the Hornsby Inn are super friendly and serve you very efficiently, a shout out to all the front of house staff here who made my stay fantastic. Conveniently located very close to Hornsby Train Station you can leave your car behind and get around Sydney via their very cheap and effective public transport network. Then when it's time to go, you're not far off the freeway to get out of Sydney cleanly without fuss. Certainly worth staying here if you're traveling through Sydney with a car as the access out of the place is superb. For the dated room and interesting parking it makes up for it more than enough in the very low price you pay to stay in this location, so still 5 stars. Keep up the great work guys.

I organised a 50th birthday party at The Hornsby Inn (Pub) on 4th July 2022. The staff were disinterested in serving customers and instead preferred to attend to minor administration issues. This is not a staffing problem, it goes much deeper and involves management. If you manage this pub then you need to take a good look at your ongoing employment prospects. Solving day to day issues is always secondary to serving a customer. After all it is us the customers who are providing you, and your staff with that job in the first place.

Great birthday dinner. We all enjoyed the meals we chose. Staff were helpful and the venue pleasant.
