Very cosy, hearty Saturday night meal. The ambience was just spot on for a cold winter night. With a lit fire place, warm and welcoming service it couldn't feel any better. The food was spot on with true value for money. The two of us did enjoy 3 courses. They are not over sized portions so going for 3 courses will have you feeling satisfied when you walk out. At the end of the night the Chef/Owner does come out and speak to everyone which is fabulous and bold, he welcomes feedback with grace and is an absolute delight to chat with. He advised us that most things are made in-house and almost all Australian produce. Will be back again. Highly recommend this jewel in Hunters Hill. We had the squid dish and sashimi smoke bowl for entre, followed by lamb shoulder ( the meat was Devine) and fettuccine loaded mushrooms that was incredibly tasty. Of course for dessert we had the signature 54 and nights special which did not disappoint.
Had an awesome lunch with friends. Beautiful warm ambience and decor, heritage listed building. Had Quail which was outstanding and no54 chocolate dessert.which was just delicious .My friends choices were Pork Belly, Gnocchi, and 2 had the lamb. All said outstanding, really delicious. For dessert the no 54 chocolate dessert was had by all 5 and agreed outstanding. The food was artfully displayed.Service was great and prices very reasonable, a wonderful lunch, will definitely visit again, well worth a visit.
My wife and I came the second night the restaurant opened. The food was outstanding - fresh, beautifully presented and mouthwatering to eat. The staff were very keen to please without a hint of pretension. We came again last Sunday, this time with our daughter and her boyfriend. We already had high expectations. But the team didn't disappoint. Another wonderful meal and a great chat with the chef/owner who spent time with all the diners. Well worth a visit.
