I have been going to Bistro 54 for over a year. It is located in an attractive heritage cottage with a very pleasant outlook onto the leafy street outside. It provides a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. In winter, the cosy inner room has a warming fire. The staff, including the chefs are friendly, engaging and efficient. The food is excellent. It's creative, inviting, and appealing to the taste buds. There is also an excellent wine list with a good range of wines available by the glass.
Great food every time we go. Service is friendly, professional and timely but not fussy. Lovely atmosphere in a stone cottage. A restaurant you want to keep going back to.
Outstanding! Beautiful ambience, great service and fabulous food. Booked here for a 70th birthday dinner for 28 and couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommended.
We came here for the taste of a nation and it was awesome, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing with the sounds of Italian music combining to create a beautiful atmosphere
We showed up quite hungry, a little before closing hoping to get some food to take back to our hotel after a long day of sightseeing. Steve graciously kept the restaurant open and served us some absolutely delicious food. We were pretty blown away by both the food and service here. He takes a lot of pride in his cooking and it shows. We were impressed with his vegetarian offerings and wished we could come back for a second round, but were leaving the next day.
Lovely little restaurant. Cozy atmosphere, amazing food! Lunch menu is a great deal. The owner Steven is super friendly and knows F&B inside out. Definitely will come back again.
Had the 5 course tasting menu. Every dish was beautifully presented. Highlights - smoked sushimi (smoked at your table), steak tartare and lime meringue pie. Perfect service. Had a great time. We'll be back

Came here for a Saturday night dinner. We loved the duck pate entree but the chicken popcorn was ok.
Lamb was very nice - moist and tasty and the steak Diana was nice as well.
French fries wasn't that good but dessert was the restaurant signature dish and delicious!

Fabulous inventive and delicious food does justice to the heritage of this location, but Bistro 54 really wows with impeccable service and prices better than your local cafe flogging smashed avo. Good enough for a weekly regular.
Third visit to this great restaurant. Tonight we popped in at 9.15pm and we were welcomed warmly and served a terrific meal. Great food and very friendly service in a comfortable setting.
This is my favourite restaurant in hunters hill and I travel all the way from rozelle just to eat here . I have never had a bad meal here and I always have had passionate attentive staff serve me.I have had a different meal every time and each one contains fresh amazing local produce. You must have a desert they are amazing and the orange you glad to see me cocktails blows any cocktail out of the water. 3 thing to say to describe this restaurant fresh , quality, affordable value for money
Fantastic food and service. We were able to book on a Saturday morning for that evening. After eating our meal the chef came out and greeted all the guests. It was nice to see him interacting with everyone. My friend raves about how good this restaurant is and he's not wrong. Highly recommended.
Bistro 54 really surprised us. I made reservations for a friend's birthday lunch and so glad it was at Bistro 54. The food was amazing! It was all very tasty, beautifully cooked and presentation was also well done. Definitely a place I highly recommend especially now that it's still quite new and before reservations become hard to get. If you want an intimate night out without having to travel to the city and worry about finding parking, choose Bistro 54!
Very cosy, hearty Saturday night meal. The ambience was just spot on for a cold winter night. With a lit fire place, warm and welcoming service it couldn't feel any better. The food was spot on with true value for money. The two of us did enjoy 3 courses. They are not over sized portions so going for 3 courses will have you feeling satisfied when you walk out. At the end of the night the Chef/Owner does come out and speak to everyone which is fabulous and bold, he welcomes feedback with grace and is an absolute delight to chat with. He advised us that most things are made in-house and almost all Australian produce. Will be back again. Highly recommend this jewel in Hunters Hill. We had the squid dish and sashimi smoke bowl for entre, followed by lamb shoulder ( the meat was Devine) and fettuccine loaded mushrooms that was incredibly tasty. Of course for dessert we had the signature 54 and nights special which did not disappoint.

Had Quail which was outstanding and no54 chocolate dessert.which was just delicious .My friends choices were Pork Belly, Gnocchi, and 2 had the lamb. All said outstanding, really delicious. For dessert the no 54 chocolate dessert was had by all 5 and agreed outstanding. The food was artfully displayed.Service was great and prices very reasonable, a wonderful lunch, will definitely visit again, well worth a visit.
My wife and I came the second night the restaurant opened. The food was outstanding - fresh, beautifully presented and mouthwatering to eat. The staff were very keen to please without a hint of pretension. We came again last Sunday, this time with our daughter and her boyfriend. We already had high expectations. But the team didn't disappoint. Another wonderful meal and a great chat with the chef/owner who spent time with all the diners. Well worth a visit.
I dined here with my husband last week for dinner and was absolutely blown away. The food is simply outstanding, with a wonderful depth of flavours. It was the perfect combination of professional service with a personal touch, and the decor is gorgeous. Highly recommend!
This is a fabulous restaurant. My boyfriend chose it and I was getting a bit suspicious as it is in a quite area. But once you enter, the service blows you away and so does the food.
The chef came over to have a chat (I think he is the owner) and the whole experience was incredible. Will definitely go back.

From the minute you walk in the door you just know it's going to be an amazing experience. From the service to the food, it's all first class.

It's hard to know what to compliment first, the service or the food. Steven, the owner Chef is a spectacular host who really knows his food. This restaurant is just waiting for the Hats to fall on it and then the prices will go up so go there now while you have a chance to try incredible dishes at very reasonable prices. Everything we tried was fantastic but I recommend you try Steven's signature entree, the sushi-mi and his signature desert.
Fantastic dining experience! The quail dish was perfectly cooked and a refreshing meal. The lamb shoulder was tender and delicious. To top it off the dessert No.54 was chocolate heaven with chocolate, peanut brittle and fairy floss!
The decor is rustic and beautiful and the natural lighting coming through the windows made for a delightful atmsophere. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable.
I would definitely come back in the future and highly recommend checking this place out.
