Have been here a few times now and it's always been brilliant! Food is absolutely awesome, and the people working are always so accommodating and lovely. Would recommend to anyone.
Food was delicious, service was great!
Great family run business
Tandoori drumsticks are juicy and amazing value!
We ordered the chicken korma, lamb rogan josh and garlic naan. All were so delicious and great value for money! We will definitely be coming back here
Friendly service , it has a good choices of curries and it is not as oily as other Curry’s place. The most important thing I don’t feel thirsty after the meal which means it has less MSG inside . will come back again for to try other curries .
Don't let looks deceive you.
Enter in and you're confronted with a surprisingly (even vaguely distressingly) small shopfront. There are only three tables, each with maybe three chairs each. I suppose large family outings are a no-go.
The decor is sparse, and the quiet air is punctuated by the sounds of footy playing on the TV. One might say the restaurant is bare, even spartan. I am more inclined to say that it is very much the epitome of casual dining.
But I was concerned mainly about the food. Atmosphere is nice, but I was starving, and good interior design usually does not fill up the stomach. We three ordered two curries and a biryani with some garlic naan, and sat and waited.
The food came in about 15 minutes... And it was truly great. Shockingly flavoursome, each spoonful of curry packed a real punch. We had the matter paneer - cottage cheese in a beautifully creamy tomato sauce - and a lamb aloo - spicy and spiced, perfect for the cold day. The paneer was creamy, the lamb, so tender.
Then the lamb biryani came out. By now we were already impressed - we grew up in Oman, where there were a lot of Indian restaurants, and we were pleased to see that this was a restaurant that could deliver. The biryani was again wonderfully spiced, with a surprisingly generous serving of lamb (and for only $12 !) Texture was also paid close attention to with dried spring onions and cardamom seeds.
The garlic naan was fantastic as well. Gluten intolerant as I am, I couldn't resist having a couple of pieces, which were fresh, hot, garlicy, buttered, soft enough to scoop up curry but still with a little crunch. We ended up ordering two serves of naan (I only had two pieces and enjoyed the biryani - my table-mates had the pleasure of eating the naan).
Any food that is good enough to be mopped up with naan and rice is definitely good in my books.
Would recommend highly, and would definitely come again. Only issue is the seating, but we saw many people come in for take-away, so maybe that's an option if you'd like to eat at home. I'm pretty sure menulog or whatever does delivery.
Food: 10/10
Atmosphere: 5/10, but who cares, you're feasting with your stomach, not your eyes.
Really amazing place, if u want to have a good Indian cuisine do try from here.. Homely taste, reasonable rate and warm and friendly people.. Its a small establishment so eating place inside is not hifi, but still neat and clean place is there to sit and eat..for a take away option ideal.. Who is looking for goat meat not lamp do visit here. Kids friendly place.. Walking distance from Huntingdale station...
Yummy food, affordable prices and great service.
I have eaten there a few times and found the place to be good. A must try if you are looking for Indian food.
Simple food done well. We doubted it a little when we walked in since it was just a bland simple take away shop with no customers. Still doubted when the food hit the table. But we got completely hooked at the first bite. Delicious, creamy, burst with flavours and spices curries. The owner is very nice. It just feels like your grandma and grandpa cooking for you. And did i mention that it's supper cheap too. Ohh, the best indian i had so far.
YUM. Cheap, tasty, good takeaway servings and full of flavour. Butter chicken (medium, quite spicy) was delicious and the garlic naan was packed with flavour (although the tiniest bit soggy, could be a little more crisp, but nothing major). Will be back!!!
The curries are consistently good every time, the quality never varies. Service is fast and friendly. Muskaan K is my go-to Indian takeaway.
