Went here for my brother’s birthday. The food tasted EXCELLENT. Every dish was seasoned perfectly and it came out so fast and fresh. The waitress who served us was just lovely. Big compliments to the chef and I really hope this place gets more business so that I can go back year after year!!
Having lived in the area for several decades, I new quite well the Vatican and I was sorry when it closed, but the new Cinquecento is much better! Good portions of really excellent Italian food, correctly priced, certainly above and beyond the usual cliché which many (so calling themselves} authentic Italian restaurants keep cooking and serving. At Cinquecento, everything is fresh made and surely enjoyable. The place is fully licensed and BYO (no corkage charge). I highly recommend it and I will go back.
Delicious pizza and very friendly staff. A quiet, clean and homely restaurant. We got the Parma pizza & Cannelloni and they didn’t disappoint. We will definitely be back here!
Early this week I was in Oakleigh and saw "Cinquecento", a new restaurant replacing the Vatican, which closed a while ago. I was curious and I decided to try it. It was an excellent idea: a real Italian restaurants, with superb food, reasonable prices, good and cordial service and, even if fully licensed, offering FREE BYO! Not only I will definitely go back but I highly recommend this place to all Zomato members and my personal friends. The servings are abundant and well presented. WELL DONE and my best wishes for a prosperous and successful future!
EST! EST! EST! This restaurant is not only serving the best Italian food in Melbourne, but the service is good and the ambient is nice. The serving are generous and well priced as well. Licensed and Free BYO an added bonus, and FINALLY a menu in which PIZZA ALLA MARINARA is real and not loaded with seafood.
I highly recommend it and I will certainly be back.
We had gourmet pizza which was light and not overloaded with toppings and a glass of wine. Service was friendly. Overall a nice place for a night out for a bite.
We came here after hearing great things about the pizza, and were not disappointed. The crusts were perfectly chewy and crispy as a good pizza dough should be, and were topped with high quality ingredients. The arancini were also very nice.

Been here a few times now. Ate there with a group last night. All loved their food. Pizzas were great as always. The canneloni and carbonara were also loved. The service is always great. Just little things like I've never been charged corkage , make a big difference.
Excellent quality pizzas at a fair price considering their use of premium Italian ingredients. Nice and local - no need to go to Lygon Street. Very friendly staff, highly recommend.

I ordered a woodfired folded pizza (Formagglo Salami). The price of this pizza was $ 17.00. The pizza was very tasty. Olive oil was oozing out of the filling. Salami in the filling was also very fresh. I liked the ambiance and the interior of the place. I must mention that considering the location of this restaurant the food is bit on a costlier side. But, after eating their pizza I know why it is little bit costly. Quality never comes cheap. I will again go to this place for the amazing pizza experience. Highly recommended.
