The Karaka-Men is my favourite. Right amount of spicy-ness and always get that free noodles to soak up all the broth in the end. The staff in Indooroopilly are all friendly and polite. Definitely another favourite spot for authentic Japanese ramen.

All I can say is.. the Miso Spicy-Men is hands down mind-blowing. I am a ramen addict and until now have not been able to go past Hai Hai in Paddington or Taro's. Nothing else in Brisbane is as good. I have had Hakataya several times previously but was only ever having the original tonkotsu, which is also very good but the broth is not as refined and layered as those contenders previously mentioned, And I also missed having a bit of veg, bamboo shoots, egg or just anything additional in my bowl to change it up from just broth, noodles, meat and shallots. So I thought I'd give the Miso Spicy-Men a go as it comes with seaweed and I thought the added elements of miso and chilli might make it a bit more exciting for me.
Boy was I right... The Miso Spicy-Men broth is SUPERB.. so many layers and the perfect ratio of tonkotsu, miso and chilli. It's a true umami-bomb.
The only suggestion I do have is to order it with extra pork - that was the best decision ever. Also I would suggest asking for the shredded seaweed topping that comes with the miso ramen exclusively to be served on the side and not topped onto your bowl. I got a little over-zealous when I first ordered it (as a Deliveroo order) and poured my whole bag of seaweed into my bowl and unfortunately it overpowered the incredible combination I'd just sampled of pork broth, miso, chilli, kaedama and sweet melt-in-your-mouth char siu. Add the seaweed gradually and man, prepare for pure heaven.
Since trying the spicy miso and branching away from the original tonkotsu, I will now be back to Hakataya Indro AAALLL THE TIME! I literally drank up every last drop from my bowl. So good - a must try.
