The Karaka-Men is my favourite. Right amount of spicy-ness and always get that free noodles to soak up all the broth in the end. The staff in Indooroopilly are all friendly and polite. Definitely another favourite spot for authentic Japanese ramen.

All I can say is.. the Miso Spicy-Men is hands down mind-blowing. I am a ramen addict and until now have not been able to go past Hai Hai in Paddington or Taro's. Nothing else in Brisbane is as good. I have had Hakataya several times previously but was only ever having the original tonkotsu, which is also very good but the broth is not as refined and layered as those contenders previously mentioned, And I also missed having a bit of veg, bamboo shoots, egg or just anything additional in my bowl to change it up from just broth, noodles, meat and shallots. So I thought I'd give the Miso Spicy-Men a go as it comes with seaweed and I thought the added elements of miso and chilli might make it a bit more exciting for me.
Boy was I right... The Miso Spicy-Men broth is SUPERB.. so many layers and the perfect ratio of tonkotsu, miso and chilli. It's a true umami-bomb.
The only suggestion I do have is to order it with extra pork - that was the best decision ever. Also I would suggest asking for the shredded seaweed topping that comes with the miso ramen exclusively to be served on the side and not topped onto your bowl. I got a little over-zealous when I first ordered it (as a Deliveroo order) and poured my whole bag of seaweed into my bowl and unfortunately it overpowered the incredible combination I'd just sampled of pork broth, miso, chilli, kaedama and sweet melt-in-your-mouth char siu. Add the seaweed gradually and man, prepare for pure heaven.
Since trying the spicy miso and branching away from the original tonkotsu, I will now be back to Hakataya Indro AAALLL THE TIME! I literally drank up every last drop from my bowl. So good - a must try.
Very busy restaurant in a popular shopping centre. They are very quick when it comes to serving food.
Hakataya Ramen will never let me down for whenever I need a quick ramen fix - great service, great flavour, great ramen every time! Generous serving of pork and noodles, and the free extra noodles are always a bonus for when I’m extra hungry 😋
DELICIOUS ramen with the best quality soup and nice and hard noodles..... I can taste the porK broth in the soup... REAL JAPANESE STAFF.. dont be fooled by other Japanese eateries inside this shopping centre.. thats not autentic Japanese. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
The first hakataya I visited I wasn’t so impressed, however after today I have changed my mind! The soup was quite tasty, noodles cooked well and the char shiu pork melts in your mouth. Soup was a little
bit on the salty side but still enjoyable. Staff here are also lovely and despite it being really busy we were served promptly. Overall there are tastier ramen stores out there but hakataya will still satisfying the craving
Once had to wait for around 20 minutes for my ramen to be made which is quite long considering that it is a fast food restaurant. Anyway, char siu tastes excellent, ramen tastes great, soup not as great because it's quite salty but I'd still come back here for the char siu and the ramen.
Always a winner. I love how this place is so consistent. I have eaten here for so many times (more than 10!) and the food is always topnotch.
Yummy in my tummy. Had a Miso Spicy Men and didn't leave any single drop of the soup in my bowl:P The taste of the soup was just right, the noodle was soft and char siu pork was melting in my mouth. Enjoyed my ramen and complementary ginger pickle and spicy dried radish, and was thankful for the fast and efficient service. All seasonings, cutlery and drinking water were fully provided. The only one point missing was that the soup was kinda greasy and served not hot enough.
Looooove me some ramen!! Had this for lunch today & it really hit the spot. I always get extra meat & noodles (FREE). The broth is spot on but i can't help but add some soy & chilli oil. I didn't have to wait long either. YUM!
I have a passion for Japanese food. And how lucky i am to have a close friend who is Japanese. She told me that this resraurant's ramen tastes like true ramen in Japan. And that's what i need to hear. 3 days before, I came here and called for an original ramen (NOTE: they have free topping right nowwww damn i'm a lucky bastard). Well, I honestly don't have anything to complain. The soup tasted awesome, the meat tasted awesome,.....but i was surprised for the noodle. Ramen noodles here is smaller than the ramen i had in Vietnam.
The second time I came here, which is yesterday. Iwas so craving for ramen that I had to drag my friends to Indro after school. I ordered a spicy ramen this time. And it was sooooooo good. All I can say is that the original ramen and the spicy one, they have their unique flavour. I love both and i really can't decide which one is better.

Nice ramen with rich tasted broth. The broth taste was just right, I didnt need to put any salt or soy sauce again. Great taste. Ah, it's better not to share because it isnt that big enough. Otherwise, you wont feel full. 🙂
You always have to wait 20-25 minutes to get served here, but if you're not in a rush it's worth it. I've always been offered free extra noodles, and I think they have a special of extra crushed char siu after 1-1:30 or something. Have had the nagahama and karakamen, the ramen is consistently awesome.

I love Hakataya Ramen. It's cheap, convenient and your food arrives quickly. My two favorites are No.1 & No.3. The Gyoza are a bit disappointing though.
Crazy about the ramen from this place. So delicious. The soup is thick and creamy but the flavor isn't overwhelming. The noodles are slightly chewy as they should be. Tastes similar to the ramen I had in Japan.

The first time I tried the ramen here I didn't get it. My previous exposure to ramen has been very limited. I didn't quite understand the super rich meaty broth or those shrivelled veggies in the plastic cup. My previous dealings in ramen were mostly the instant kind!
After eating the ramen here a number of times, I now get it! The broth is amazing, it simmers away in an enormous pot for hours and is ladled into bowls as ordered. The fresh ramen are cooked separately and then added to the broth. Then a couple of slices of pork are added. The pork breaks apart with your chopsticks and you really do not need more than the few slices they give you, it breaks up nicely plus the broth is super rich. The menu is extremely limited, as most good food places in Asia - they do their specialty and that is it. I like it that way!
My favourite is the spicy miso, the ramen cook drops some seasoning into the bowl prior to the broth. It gives the soup a nice little kick.
The little shop seats around 8 people but you are welcome to take your bowl into the main food court area. I like to sit at the shop on the bar like seating, I can pretend I am in Japan for a little bit.
Service is fine, if you want extra noodles (free), you get them quickly. They often do not clean up the bench area and will leave the table numbers everywhere. This is a little annoying when you are cramped in with other people jostling for elbow and table real estate.
There is one guy, tall with a small beard that works at the shop, it is entirely possible he is stoned or his father was a sloth. If he is the one dishing up the ramen be prepared to wait for a bit, even if there is noone else here.
Went out of our way to try Hakataya Ramen at Indooroopilly after my husband had cravings for decent ramen. We'll be back! Service was friendly, and considering how busy it was, our bowls of ramen, and our gyoza, were delivered to us in a reasonable timeframe. It's very good ramen. Considering Hakataya has numerous shops in Japan, we expected authentic - thankfully we got it!
Real lovely soup and ramen, do not order the spicy one if you cannot handle extreme hot! Dumplings are very good too, light thin pastry and crispy! Very cheap and delicious! Staffs are very friendly!
yea!!! Thursday late night shopping, came here (Indooroopilly) for shopping and just grab a bite in Hakataya. as usual, is always got a long queue. and as usual still worth it.

My crack. Be warned: Hakataya Ramen is a highly addictive meal. The first time you experiment with the dish you will be overwhelmed by the pork broth and fresh noodles. From here you will begin to experience signs of ramen cravings: daydreaming of ramen, slipping ramen in to every conversation possible and making excuses to take trips to Indooroopilly shopping centre. I frequent the restaurant a few times a week and I wouldn't change anything about it. Yes I'm addicted, but it's a healthy addiction. I have a good relationship with the chefs, who supply a constant amount of noodles when they catch my eye mid slurp. All in all you should become a ramen addict as well. It could be the best or worse thing you ever do. But you should try, just to find out!
Quickand cheap feed. It's a ramen shop, do not expect excellent service. It's quick service though. Decide what u want, line up, pay and sit. In a few minutes, voila food is served!

Been training at indro shopping centre for 3 weeks & on our breaks we've never missed to have lunch here. Service isnt good at all but i sont expect much. Noodles arent consistently cooked properly but all in well its still yummy

Ramen closer to home!. Finally a Hakataya near home, used to go to Sunnybank for my fix. Great ramen without a huge pricetag! A little slow service at this one compared to Sunnybank; I don't think it has as many staff, but the ramen is worth the wait. Beware if MSG sensitive. Taro's still takes the cake for awesome ramen, but this place is cheaper and much easier to get to!
A very good example of a Hakataya business. Clean, reliable food, and good service. Was inspired to leave a review because I could feel the friendly kindness of the woman who took my order. It set the tone for a very nice dining experience.
Super delicious! My 4yr old is a noodle lover said these noodles were "mega yum" and the BEST!" 😄. Hubby said the lady was super friendly and kind as well which is always really nice to encounter. Will eat here again
Absolutely delicious! I come to this store all the time and I honestly think it’s my favourite thing in the world. It’s my comfort food! Whenever I’m sick and stay home from school, my mum goes and gets it for me because I love it so much. Please never close this store down and never change the recipe!!!!!!!! 💗💗💗💗😍😍😍😍

This place would have to be one of my favourites ever! With free noodles and birthday Ramen, this place is amazing! The soup base is deliciously flavoured pork, the noodles are fresh and the staff are friendly. 10/10 would recommend.
