Review Queens Park Cafe - Ipswich

Amazing service and even better food! We came here for brunch on a busy, rainy day and still had the best experience. The portion sizes are so big that we couldn’t finish it and they had heaps of gluten free options for our friend. We will definitely be back here!

This was really high quality food at a nice venue. Well priced and fast service. Definitely go!

A really lovely venue with indoor and outdoor seating and a pretty comprehensive selection of dishes including mains, desserts and snacks. We actually intended to stop in for ice cream only but were seduced by the delicious smells wafting past our noses. Two main meals, drinks and dessert came to $52. Not a bad price, especially for the ambiance of the place. It's family friendly with wheelchair and stroller access and public toilet is located on the same building. Staff were lovely, facilities were clean and the food was lovely.

Had breakfast here with my best friend on Saturday morning. The staff are friendly and courteous and very efficient. I have to give them 10/10 for cleanliness. As soon as customers left from their tables, the staff were straight there to clean up. Great work keep it up. I will definately go back 😊

The food is expensive here for what you get. First time eating here the burger was average second time eating here the hotdog I bought was burnt and they put bbq sauce on it which I didn't order.

Service was welcoming, the staff smiley, bubbley and full of life....! I ordered a chicken, cheese and mayo toastie and a large coffee. The wait time was incredibly fast considering how busy they were, so kudos to the kitchen staff, you guys rock!! And the wait staff for bringing it in a timely fashion.... You've impressed me, I'll be back 🤘🤘😃😎

After only ever getting a few coffees at the Queens Park Cafe we decided to go in for a meal after being told that there is a few good Vegan options. Sadly there was not much variety in this area and we went with the Spring Roll Salad and the Smashed Avo toast. The Service was Ok, the food was reasonable but the price was quite high. The only thing that would really make me want to return is the scenery.

Our go to cafe for breakfast, have been over 10 times & always been extremely happy with the meals, sizing, service & prompt food. Amazing fresh juices & thickshakes 😍

A disappointing food experience. I found the meal average at best and overpriced for what it is. There serving staff are friendly. There are better options available in Ipswich. Look elsewhere.

Off the beaten track and nestled between a croquet and bowls club you will find Queens park cafe, this cafe bosts beautiful photos and a brief history session about the park and some icons around the park on the exterior.

Dont underestimate the size of this cafe because it looks small on the outside but on entrance this place is actually quite big. One of the negatives of the place was one particular staff member who lacked human interaction when acknowledged, a simple "Hello", "no problem" or a smile wouldnt go astray instead of nothing at all when collecting plates or delivering food to people, the rest of the staff very nice.

Had the queens park big brekky and suprisingly well presented with again the bacon again being extremely well done and just melting in my mouth it was cooked that well, toast was nicely toasted and crunchy, the eggs cooked to perfection and I enjoyed the runny yolk. Only downside was the mushrooms, absolutely no idea what happened to them but they looked dehydrated and were tastless. The coffee really suprised me, I would not hesitate to come back here for a coffee, flavour galore that was tasted right down to the last drop, well done to the barista - keep up the fantastic job.

MB's choice today! Cute cafe/kiosk set in the heart of Queens Park, Ipswich.

This place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Plenty of seating options both inside and out on the deck. The counter where you order has a canteen/tuckshop type style and everything is set out neatly and clearly labelled. Plenty of foliage from the surrounding plants/trees which provides some privacy from passers-by.

For brekky, I ordered the Avocado Smash with poached eggs and a side of caramelised onions and bacon. Overall, quite nice. The avocado was nice and chunky, bacon perfectly cooked - fat was rendered beautifully. My caramelised onions weren't as cooked down as I would have liked. It had a very slight crunch/chew to it and didn't have the 'sweet' tang that caramelised onions usually have. I also would have liked my sourdough toasted - it would have been easier to cut through if it was but like I said, overall - my meal was quite nice.

They have a cabinet full of dreams, hope and answers to what happiness truly looks like. It was a cabinet of what seems like endless choices of sweet and savoury items. Sweet and savoury muffins, tarts, cheesecakes, slices, just to name a few! I couldn't leave without trying their Pumpkin, Bacon and Cheese muffin. This came with a side of relish and sour cream. Take it from me - you cannot have this muffin without these condiments. FREAKEN DELISH! I enjoyed this muffin more than my brekky! Moist, flavourful and excellent texture.

Coffee - my usual mocha. Great coffee, nice balance. What I found quite interesting was there was slight nuttiness taste in my coffee? It wouldn't have been the milk because I ask for lactose free milk but not sure if it was the@ coffee beans or chocolate? Deapite this, it was a very good cup of coffee.

The airy Queens Park Café, housed in a modern building with an open-faced veranda overlooking the park, is ‘family central’ with something for everyone. It’s a favourite for casual family gatherings, breakfasts and lunch or just a snack with coffee. From Signature brekkie to the House specialty Chicken parmi, Ipswich’s thickest milkshake to an ice cream soda, this is fairly typical café food serving all-day brekkie. It’s easy to find something to suit all tastes. Our Spring roll salad and Seafood chowder are well-priced accessible light meals. However, we’re most impressed with the service. There’s a brigade of mostly young wait staff, cheery and fresh, eagerly clearing tables and delivering meals – some of the best-trained and most conscientious service we’ve seen in some time. Inspiring!

One of the best kept secrets in Ipswich. A great range of foods, great service and really good coffee. Have been here several times since current owners took over and will continue to come back. Fast service and friendly staff.

I'd been here for a work high tea, which was pretty good so I thought I would try a weekend breakfast but was unimpressed. Negatives: Eggs Benedict was with tinned, cold hollandaise. Ham was average (they had unfortunately run out of salmon). Coffee was average. Positives: friendly staff.

On a recent weekend drive out of town, we came across this delightful cafe. We weren't expecting much but were pleased to find this very pleasant spot. The food is family-orientated; safe choices, and lots of it. The service is outstanding; I take my hat off to the manage/trainer - or maybe the girls are just lovely in themselves!? We had between us a Works burger, salt and pepper calamari and a bowl of chips. The calamari was tender and tasty with a well flavoured coating. Oh and the thickshakes are sooo thick and flavoursome. The burger had beetroot and pineapple and all the other Aussie things you expect. It had homemade relish which pleased hubby as so many places don't put any on, and they end up being dry. It is a huge and airy space set amongst the trees in the park, with a lovely open air feel. If you want a meal that will set you up for the day (we didn't need dinner) in a lovely spot with outstanding service, this is the place for you. And you can take the kids for a walk in the animal enclosure nearby after your meal.

I visited the cafe this week and was extremely disappointed. Though it was busy being lunchtime and school holidays I didn't expect to wait an hour for our meals! My friend had ordered after me and received her meal after 20 mins or so. 15 minutes later I go to the counter and was told my meals should be served in 5-10 minutes but if I hadn't received them in 25 minutes! to let her know!? I wasn't happy with that so I approached another staff member who promised to check on our order. She returned to apologise and tell me that when I ordered, the order did not go to the kitchen for some reason. She offered me a free round of drinks but I told her that I'd rather a refund. I asked to speak to the manager. Liz, the manager, came to the table to explain the mix up and delay. I told her that after the length of time I had waited for the meals, I should receive a refund. She flatly refused saying she would serve the meals OR give me a refund. Obviously after waiting an hour for a steak sandwich and two kids meals we were famished so agreed to have our meals. I was offered complimentary ice cream for the children and a coffee for me. For the kids' ice creams they had run out of cones and my coffee never came as the coffee machine broke down. It was a comedy of errors! I found the staff member on the floor really lovely and helpful. On the other hand, the Manager, Liz, should do a refresher course in customer service to keep her customers happy if she expects them to return!@Louise Denning
This is my third time at Queens Park Cafe and the second time I've been disappointed .. can't say as I will be back for a fourth time. The service is usually passable though apparently counter service means you'll get no service on the floor until they bring your order .. case in point - 2 or 3 staff on the floor but not one came to help me carry a highchair to the table when it was obvious I was struggling with my 10 month old on one arm and the highchair in the other. The prices are frankly way too high - it's not an inner city cafe that produces gourmet meals .. I purchased the fisherman's basket for $16 assuming it would be a large enough meal for me and my baby. When it appeared at the table I was disappointed .. shredded carrot and lettuce leaves are not a salad, my basket was small enough to be contained by a small side bowl .. 3 small scallops, 3 calamari rings, one small crab claw, the smallest piece of fish I'd ever seen (that looked like it came frozen from a cardboard box) and a small handful of chips and no tartare sauce though it was right there on the menu that the meal should be served with it. Supposedly they have fresh fish seeing as one of the other meals was freshly crumbed barramundi and chips so why use a frozen fillet for the fisherman's basket??? If your customer leaves feeling ripped off - you aren't doing your business any favours. The position is awesome but that's about it ...

Most weekends finds us enjoying a late breakfast somewhere ... on sunny days when we feel like heading out on the motorcycle, one of the places we usually find ourselves is the Queens Park Cafe at Ipswich. It's a great windy bike ride out through Pullenvale past Colleges Crossing and into Ipswich Central. It's always lovely to visit Queens Park and the cafe is right there - nice views, a cool breeze, always a table available and an extensive menu.

I'm not going to rave and say this place is fabulous, but it's got a good solid menu of all the usual suspects and every thing I've eaten has been good (not great, but good). On our most recent Sunday brunch I ended up with the savoury mince on toast - this wasn't one of my favourite meals out there I have to say, but it was okay. A little soggy so the toast was mushy pretty quickly (which I don't like) perhaps a more dense sourdough or similar would solve that problem. But it was okay. Hubby went for a burger and they do a good burger I must say.

The other nice thing about a visit her on a weekend is that there is the most fantastic little wildlife park right onsite - a great aviary, a few enclosures with the usual aussie animals in them and all for free (but please do make a donation to help with the upkeep). The kids will love it - heck I love it and all my kids are grown up!

So give this place a go - unlikely that you will be disappointed.

We took our daughter and two granddaughters for morning tea after a long and exhausting play at the park. The staff were helpful and patient in helping us select food for our dairy intolerant girls and we were really pleased with the quality and thankful for the hospitality. Good value in the true sense; not cheap but worth every dollar to have such a service available. Obviously run by people with an appreciation of being accomodating and welcoming. Thank you.

Over paid. My wife ordered for us and this is what she came back with for $16. 1 piece of bacon 2 eggs 1 piece of toast little slice of tomato and a spoon of mushrooms. I don't believe this is value for money besides the cost taste was, well there was none. Also bought a Carrot and orange to taste more water than actual fruit and vegetable. Bitterly disappointed in the whole experience will not be coming back. Would I recommend no way.

Disappointing thick shake. Ipswich's thickest thick shake, mmmm but the cup was only half full! Kiddies were very disappointed considering the first time we went the cups were full. When I questioned the level of the $7 thick shake the manager told me it depends on who makes it (mmmm maybe the staff need to be trained at the same time or put a marker for consistency on the cup) Dissapointed and won't be returning - next time I will spend my $41 elsewhere

Needs Work. I'm not the kind of person to put cafes down usually as i've been in the industry for 18 years. YOUR BARISTAS, SORRY SHOULD SAY COFFEE MAKERS, NEED SOME SERIOUS TRAINING. I have been 3 times now & the coffee has never been right. You might say you have been in business for so many years so you must be doing something right. Think about the location you're in, there is nothing else in that general area that attracts probably thousands of people a day. ALSO DRINK TRAYS ON TABLES WHEN DELIVERING THEM IS A BIG NO NO IN THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY. Also seems to be so many staff to get the job done but doesn't seem to be happening. So much potential to be absolutely fantastic.

It's a Gem!. Can't believe we overlooked this little gem in the past.
Beautiful surroundings, good service, really delicious, well presented cafe meals.
At first we did think some dishes were a bit pricey, but given the overall experience was so pleasing, well worth it.
Between us we had trio of dips, bread, soup, spring rolls, fish and salad, nachos, quiche, waffles, some other decadent dessert, I can't recall the name just now, and a couple of milkshakes. Scrumptious!
One small flaw, for us, is that we have to pay up front, which means we have to pay again, and again, should we decide to have something more than our initial order. Just slightly inconvenient.
Looking forward to our next visit.

I just ordered a ham, salad on Turkish roll and it cost me $16.70!!!!!! How can you charge that for a sandwich. They then forgot my avocado that I had to pay $2.50 extra for and the bread was stale... I asked for my money back and won't be going back here. How could people with families afford to go here??? This is not an upmarket city cafe... This is a park kiosk?!?!?

Can't go wrong here. There is nothing negative to say at all about Queens Park Cafe. Food is always great and the menu is extensive. I often have meetings here because the menu can accommodate the fussy ones. Not over-priced. Amenities are close by, ramp for wheelchair access and it's just a really comfortable, relaxing atmosphere here. There are always mossies around so if you're not a fan, remember the repellant. A popular place for the elderly as well :)
