Daniella has created a great atmosphere. Love my hazelnut meal/raspberry cake, Bircher muesli and cappuccino are the best. I have many favorite places all over the world but Buongusto is on top of my list.
Awesome food, coffee and people. Beautiful spot to relax and catch your breath!
Buongusto cafe is a beautiful place. Everything is made with love. You can find a lot of homemade fresh things. Homemade cakes with coffee are the best!
Awesome food, lovely staff. Great place coffee and breakfast.
Excellent customer service, great meals and coffee, consistently a great place for lunch
Fantastic food (try the bacon and egg roll with a rosti, unlike anything I've ever had at a cafe, so good!), incredible service and the best coffee on this side of town hands down! One of my favourite places in Melbourne, couldn't recommend these lovely folks and their super cute cafe any more!!
Amazing staff and service. welcome you with hugs and smiles. they make home made cakes and biscuits, a must try cafe. Good food and nice ambiance, perfect for coffee and brunch.
We initially set out to eat at Bitter Sweet Bakery a few doors down, only to discover that it had closed down! However, Buongusto more than made up for this little inconvenience. We were greeted by a lovely waitress and we knew we had made a good choice by the amount of customers inside; I think we managed to get the very last free table for 2! We decided on getting the Hotcakes (with the mascarpone, maple, poached pear option) as well as the special with baked ricotta with eggplant and harissa, kale, poached eggs, and beetroot relish on sourdough and were both very, very satisfied. The pancakes were soft and fluffy, and yet not soggy though placed and surrounded by the maple syrup. The standout was clearly the pear though, with a fresh and cooling effect in the mouth, and amazing flavours of whatever concoction it had been soaked in (rosewater, or cinnamon, maybe even star annise). When paired with the mascarpone and pancakes with maple syrup, a delight to eat! Similarly, the contrasting textures (the crunchiness of the bread, chewiness of the eggplant) as well as flavours (spice from harissa, roasted eggplant, poached eggs, sweetness of the beets) made our other dish an extremely tasty meal. We also decided on having a peanut butter brownie with a few cappuccinos, and were not disappointed. While the brownie was more like a cake, the end result is still delicious. The peanut butter didn't run through the brownie though, so if you preferred a more rich and flavourful treat, one of the other many choices of cakes/cookies would be better. The coffee from Toby's Estate was delicious as expected. All in all, an unexpected, yet delightful meal. We plan on returning, hopefully soon!
Amazing! Service especially ;) Try the big breakfast it will not disappoint. Coffees are nice and strong, all the Girls are delightful with welcoming smiles.
Came in a few weeks ago on a Tuesdays for brunch after hearing good things from my girlfriends. The decor and atmosphere were very nice. However, I found the menu to be a bit pricey for the portions that came out. The service was ok, some of the staff seemed a bit frantic and not as friendly as I had hoped. I feel as though the decor of this cafe props it up, as with that aside the meal was mediocre and expensive and the service was not the best. Did not feel very welcomed so it has not won me over as a regular, unfortunately.
