I've eaten Thai food all over the world for more than two decades but this it no ordinary Thai restaurant! A friendly welcoming host and great chef serving amazing unique Thai fusion food prepared with care and only the freshest ingredients - a work of art that blows my senses and my mind. Great prices too. Take some friends and treat yourselves to a Thai tapas style meal and graze through the entire menu :)

There are regular Thai restuarants, and then there’s Scents of Siam. This local gem is a labour of love for its owners. Dan, who manages front of house, is Singaporean Chinese, and his wife Yui – who is the Thai-Chinese brainchild behind the dishes, manages the kitchen. They strive to present a fusion of old and new dishes crossing the boundaries of Thai and Chinese and covering the whole geography of Thailand from north to south.
I absolutely love this place 💕 The menu consists of a different, ‘fresh’ sort of Thai cuisine that was so refreshingly good that I’ll be coming back very shortly! 100% recommend the beef massaman curry, fish curry and the sticky mango rice (though there’s not one thing we ordered off the menu we could find fault with).
The service is amazing and personalised, we always have a laugh with him when here!
Small cosy and ver friendly staff. Explained the food very well and took lots of care to check in. Food was value for money however I found lacked flavour especially the pork and egg stew. Son in law eggs was however delicious. Pad Thai sweet and needed more punch but still nice.
Overall it was a great experience given price and friendly service.
Love this little spice of thai! Absolutely amazing! The pad thai, roti bread and spring rolls were all great! Service was great, make sure you book ahead because its full every night!
I don't really want to rave about this place because it is a small restaurant and I often find its fully booked out for dinner, but I will. This place is amazing. Food is delicious and authentic. Full of flavor and beautifully presented. The meals are so cheap and no corkage charge for BYO. The owner greets every table and obviously loves what he does and cares about your experience. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you love Thai food this is a must try.
Very friendly intimate place, very homely.
The food has care and attention given to it. The flavours are excellent. Curry puffs are a standout . My Massaman curry was probably the spiciest I have had. Tasty, could have done a little more meat and potato. I would go again.
Where can i start. I work around the corner and I always look forward to lunch there.
A simple restaurant, quite small in size but it makes up for it in delicious quality food. Every mouth full has a burst of flavour, from the delicately balanced herbs and spices.
Highly recommend the rice paper rolls with the delicious home made peanut sauce.
This is my favourite restaurant in Perth. I can't speak highly enough of Dan, Yui and team. Every time you go is an experience. The food is consistently sublime - I recommend the Massaman curry however every dish on the menu is divine. No food envy in this restaurant! The team at Scents of Siam are all incredibly passionate about what they do. Do yourself a favour and give them a try. Your tummy will thank you!
I don't know how this restaurant isn't rated higher on Zomato! Absolutely adore this place. Such fresh delicious food and the prices are so reasonable you'll wonder if you're in Melbourne. We had our end of year dinner here late December 17. For 7 people with entrees and mains (no dessert) plus BYO wine the bill came to only $134 (!) My choice of the night was the son in law eggs and the crumbed Barramundi with green mango salad. OMG 😍 Presentation of food is gorgeous, staff are friendly. Don't let the simple, almost underwhelming decor put you off. Restaurant is fairly small so book ahead if you can!
Scents of Siam is a small, family run Thai restaurant. It's mandate - to rediscover the scents and tastes of Siam and Thai cooking right here in Joondalup.
Part of discovering neighbourhood gems is the delight in finding a restaurant that provides extraordinary value for well executed cuisine. This little Thai restaurant is fast becoming a local favourite.
The owner, hobbles out to serve his patrons with a noticeable limp. He works hard... regulars already know to order the Pad Thai which is 'off' menu. The difficulty with finding fresh ingredients for a home-made Pad thai sauce meant the owner tried 8 different readily available combinations before he settled on the right one. Served in a bamboo basket, with a side of chilli flakes, the flavours delicate yet intricately balanced with each other at the same time. Soft flat rice noodles with peanuts, sweet yet salty. Crunchy yet smooth.
Serving sizes here are relatively small, particularly with the entrees. The roti perhaps are a little too oily. But crunchy and mops up various sauces well. Spicy sausages an explosion of flavour.
Take away the glam, modern decor of some of the best Perth Thai restaurants. Halve the price. And drive to Joondalup. This is no white-tablecloth affair. Just home-cooked Thai meals at a reasonable price. The chef, the mastermind and Queen behind the scenes of this husband and wife duo puts her heart into cooking her childhood dishes. And does it well. Very well.
We've now made it a new regular.
