First time at Jack and Jill after the markets - has breakfast and was great đđŸ - very good selection and the coffee âïž is super as well...staff and service was excellent đ
Great place for breaky! Heaps of parking at the back. Awesome atmosphere and something on the menu for everyone. Not the same menu as everywhere else which is great! Love it and will be back!!
Always fabulous, their breakfast board is perfect for myself and my toddler to share. We splash out for breakfast here as we know itâs always delicious.
Jack & Jillâs provides the best breakfast in Kalamunda in my not so humble opinion.
On my last visit I ordered the Jills breakfast with a coffee. I asked for scrambled eggs, which always come out golden light and fluffy on crunchy toasted sourdough bread. The cooked spinach is well washed, soft and full of flavour. The field mushrooms are large soft and delicious, I sprinkle a little pink salt over them to really bring out the flavour.
The asparagus spears are tender, with great colour and texture. The tomato is halved and cooked to perfection, full of juicy tomato goodness with a sprinkle of pepper.
And the king of the dish are the two slabs of soft chewy haloumi cheese with crispy outside and gooey inside I could eat a plate of the haloumi on its own.
This is a seriously good breakfast and I am by no means a vegetarian.
Coffee is always good, comes out quick and 90% of the time is at a bellissimo temperature. They definitely use good quality milk and beans although I have never bothered to ask what they do use.
The dĂ©cor of the cafĂ© is clean & modern but basic. It is not exactly cosy, can often be a little noisy as itâs busy. So it lacks a little ambience but by no means is uncomfortable.
They have booth tables which are always in demand, a long shared table in the middle and a number of 2 seater tables along the main wall and the rear outside verandah . The outside verandah overlooks a car park and is right next to the bathroom and the front tables are on the sidewalk so neither outdoor seating options are great.
Absolutely recommended.
I love fairytales and nursery rhymes and all things magical, so naming a cafe after a nursery rhyme is a tick in my books haha. But whatâs even more clever is calling your cafe Jack & Jill and being located in Kalamunda aka the Hills, because Jack and Jill indeed went up the Hill. Anyways, I went here a few months ago for brunch with my favourite colleague. I ordered the pulled pork benedict based on a old colleagueâs recommendation (from a different company). And boy was it an awesome recommendation! The pulled pork was full of flavour and super tender. The eggs were oh so gooey in the middle. But what really made the dish for me was the pork crackle crumble!! It reminded me of a Vietnamese noodle dish called Hu Tieu Nam Vang which is known to have little pieces of fried pork fat sprinkled in the noodles. Love it!! My only let down of the experience was that service was a little slow and the guy at the counter was a little grumpy (no smile). My colleague ordered the fried chicken burger which she enjoyed. We finished off our day by sharing a lemon slice â it was nice and tangy but quite small for the price. Overall I would come back for the pulled pork benedict.
Great interiors and vast menu offerings.
It was also nice to find a cafe who caters to people with dietary requirements and subs one ingredient for another (instead of charging you the same amount for something with 2 less ingredients). The smashed avocado was good, however the coffee and service wasnât the best. Although it is still a great option to have when in the area.
We came here for breakfast before heading over to the markets nearby. Food was good, very filling! We had the Jill & Jack plate. Both good. But service was a bit slow and the cashier was a little grumpy (no smile). The atmosphere was nice and modern. And the baby cino came with a...
really cute and clean aesthetic inside, a somewhat change from the surroundings of the area. the service was friendly and helpful, and the food came quite quickly. the food was quite average, tacos were quite small and pork burger wasnât too bad. overall a pleasant experience, the place great vibes in a lovely location.
Good cafe for the area, but I probably wonât return. It was freezing in there this morning so I pretty much had to order a hot drink to warm up.. my latte was really nice, hot, and not too strong. Nothing on the menu really caught my eye so I settled for the spelt waffle with coconut yoghurt and fruit. The best bit about my meal was the fruit; very fresh. The waffle was cold and the texture was kind of hard like bread... definitely tasted like a healthy kind of waffle.. and like it was pre-made the previous day. My friend ordered the mint peas on toast with poached egg.. she was satisfied with her meal. I saw a few other meals go out to people which looked amazing.. so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The staff were very friendly. I wish they had some sort of unhealthy pancake dish or porridge.
Excellent food, very nice vegan options and gluten free options too! Staff were quick and pleasant. Atmosphere is nice too, plenty of room and quiet at times, which can be handy for little kids who tag along with you..
