We had our wedding ceremony and luncheon at Pins On Lurline last weekend.
I can’t praise Adam, Jody and their team enough.
Nothing was too much trouble for them.
What was to be a garden ceremony had to be moved into the restaurant due to rain and fog. This was organised quickly and with a minimum of fuss.
The food and beverage service was first class and our guests were all raving about the venue and food. I can’t praise them enough !
Delicious food- very flavoursome. I had the pork belly and my partner had the chicken and both were delicious! We shared the deconstructed pie which was great. Great service and in a quiet, cosy and romantic setting.
We came for my partner’s birthday dinner with our 9 month old daughter. The staff was accommodating and friendly. I like the fact that the receptionist knew who I am by name when we were greeted upon entry. Food was delicious especially my entree which was the prawn and chorizo on a salad. Couldn’t get enough of it. My partner had the potato and leek soup which he said was delicious. My main, however, was too rich for me and I couldn’t finish. I was feeling the richness of the fat on the pork belly and the butter on the mash which was a bit too much. On the other hand, my partner loved his eye fillet which was cooked perfect as he wished - medium well. He said I should’ve ordered it instead of the pork belly which I might next time. We didn’t get to have dessert as our baby girl was getting tired and tbh, I was too stuffed to eat more. I would love to come back to taste some desserts next time.
PINS ON LURLINE is near perfection. The Modern Australian, and mostly locally sourced food, the location, and the historical venue are a marvel and worthy of a visit to the Blue Mountains. I cannot wait to return. Hit up the site for full review and more.
That was truly magnificent.
Great place. Great staff.
Kept it simple and had eye fillet with seasonal veggies. Couldn't fault the dish or the service.
Wow.
Had a nice meal here, nothing to write home about though. The food was average but the service was good. Tastings meal of 8 courses was good to see if the food was worth coming back for. But sadly it wasn't.
I had the barramundi and it was really tasty! It was a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. The cottage is very clean and the decor is beautiful. Would definitely come back.
Wonderful experience. We came here for a celebration dinner, and it the ticked all the boxes - delicious, well constructed dishes, and pleasant atmosphere. We had the soup of the day, a French onion soup, and the mushroom bruscetta as entrees, the eye fillet and chicken ballantine for mains, and blueberry cheesecake for dessert.
Best restaurant in the blue mountains period..Food was fresh and delicious. Best quality food we ever had anywhere in Australia. Wines were fantastic and cheap.
Delicious Delicious Delicious. Seriously strange walking in to a joint offering Italian/Japanese fusion, but damn it works! Wish this place was in Sydney. Such good value.
What a beautiful restaurant!
Fine dining at a great price, we had the antipasto plate to share for entree & it was amazing! Went perfect with our bottle of red wine. Our mains were also perfect! So much on our plate that we couldn't finish it all. The staff & service were also fabulous!
We are from Perth & will definatly come to this restaurant again whenever we are next in Katoomba!
We booked PINS at the recommendation of our B&B host. It's set in a beautiful federation cottage just a short drive from echo point. Inside, the atmosphere is quaint, romantic. Dark wood and paper table covers. A large chalkboard displays the specials in addition from the main menu.
We tried the chargrilled kangaroo fillet with Moroccan spice, Rosti potato, salad leaves and tomato vinaigrette. The kangaroo is sliced thin, cooked medium rare, smoky on the rim and tender and juicy in the centre. The potato is crispy and goes well against the refreshing salad.
Also tried the Japanese Wagyu beef curry served with rice and garden salad. Now I'm not usually a fan of curries but I really enjoyed this one. The beef from megalong valley was tasty and full of flavour. Great spices, though on the mild side.
For dessert, had the white chocolate crème brulee infused with lime & ginger; served with honeycomb ice cream. Wonderfully light and delicious. Also had Bombe alaska – home made nougat ice cream on macaroon, glazed with Italian meringue, orange caramel & Gippsland cream. Sadly a bit on the sweet side.
A great romantic night without breaking the budget.
Best place in the mountains! Remember to book.. We arrived just after opening on a Saturday night, having read the reviews online. Although they were booked out we convinced the waitress to allow us in for 20 minutes for dessert... And we were so glad. The food was divine!
Definitely coming back.
Pins is an absolute must! The restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. Every meal was great. I had the special Japanese pancake, which was a delishice dish! And to top off an amazing dinner was an awesome dessert. I had the bombe Alaska and my family me members had the sticky date. We were so impressed we have booked in for tomorrow! 10/10 for pins!
Definitely put this on the list to try. Our party all ate off the specials menu which offered a varied range of cuisines and flavours yet all were executed very well. Great value for money and the service was warm and efficient. Would recommend booking.
Superb little spot - interesting mix of Japenese, European and Australian food. It was all delectable and beautifully presented, not pricey for the quality. The wine wasa bargain at $7.50 a glass and for a nice blend. The owners are wonderful hosts & nothing is too much bother. It's really popular with the locals, which says it all, so definitely book, as lots of people were turned away.
True to their mountain roots, Pins on Lurline is located in a quaint cottage, delivering an intimate and authentic experience. The photos have been uploaded in order with the exception of the lamb. Overall, the food was fantastic but it was the service which impressed us the most!
Beautiful old house converted to restaurant. Good service & ambience, although no lighting in the carpark made it difficult to manoeuvre to exit after the meal. We had the tasting menu, very reasonable 6 courses for $80. Pleasant surprise was the truffle butter that came with the bread. Overall excellent meal & definitely worth coming for a meal if you're in the mountain
Couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant and enjoyable dining experience. Every dish in the 10 course degustation was well presented, balanced and delectable.
The waiters were very polite and explained each dish. The dim, warm & welcoming atmosphere was a contrast to the cold windy night.
A definite recommendation if you are in the blue mountains and looking for a fine dining experience.
I have made a point of visiting Pins at least once each year, on my annual trip to the Blue Mountains to walk trails on the Queen's Birthday long weekend. The food is exceptional, the staff are fantastic, and I am never, ever disappointed. They go the extra mile to ensure a superb experience, even if you occupy a table by yourself. Well deserving of a 5-star rating!!
Some of the best food i’ve ever eaten with such wonderful staff. It was a lovely experience!! Came here for my birthday and got surprised with a special dessert at the end.
The food was super tasty! Woth the price. We had a very pleasant meal! Lovely staff as well.
‘Pins on Lurline’ have refined their staple signature dishes to a ‘tasting menu’ $80 pp.
We shared the six course tasting menu including:
• Chefs selection snack (mini soup hors d'oeuvres appetizer/shots)
• Seared scallops served with lemon gel, radish, spiced mayo and orange ginger sauce
• 48 hour slow cooked wagyu beef cheeks, spring vegetables, signature jus
• Szechuan kangaroo fillet, sticky ancient grains, fried kale and spring berry jus
• Set custard, fruit granita, butter milk foam, fresh berries, lime sherbet
• Sticky date pudding served with butterscotch sauce, house churned ice cream, biscuit tuille and liquid nitrogen berries
The food portions have reduced but the quality and presentation improved.
The inexperienced wait staff need to learn to clear tables once all guests have finished their meals. My partner’s plate was swiftly cleared as soon as he finished his course and I was left eating alone feeling rushed – with a restaurant at half capacity, there’s no need to rush guests who are pacing themselves through a six course menu.
Pins on Lurline was highly recommended by one of my husband’s coworkers living in the blue mountain area. And the saying of locals knows best is so true in this case.
This dinner is easily one of the most enjoyable dining experiences since we moved into Australia 6 months ago. The six-course tasting menu was “CHEF’S KISS” and we got the wine pairing too. I love how generous the wine pouring is, to the point that I felt a little tipsy by the end of dinner!

The food really blew us away. But what really got to us was our host - Adam (oh gosh, I hope I get his name right, sorry if I did not 🙏 ). He was so engaging, funny and literally brought so much warmth to our evening dining experience.
Thank you a million to all the teams at Pins on Lurline for making our dining experience so wonderful! ❤️❤️
