Visited Bare Grill on spec expecting the ordinary. We ordered the Grilled Barra Chips & Salad. The meal was great, the value good, the service friendly and attentive. The experience surprisingly excellent. A nice Fathers' Day dinner. Thank You.

One of the original founders of Sydney's burger scene, Bare Grill is infamous for it's consistancy, quality and generous servings. Their location in ideallic La Parouse overlooking the magnificent Botany Bay on an almost Spring-like Saturday was how the wife and I wound up here on the last weekend in August.
Took ages to decide what burger I wanted, settled on the 'Cure' and the wife the 'Son of a Cockfighter'. Also got a soda of mac n cheese croquettes, because the wife has this problem where she can't say no to mac and cheese.
The croquettes were good. Crispy crumb which made a nice crunch and the mac n cheese was thick, creamy and good. Personally I felt like a dash of cayenne pepper wou have gone amiss in the cheese sauce.
Burgers were phenomenal. Sitting in the park, soaking up the Ray's whilst eating. Beef is phenomenal - possible the best beef on a burger I've had ever. Thick, juicy, well seasoned flame grilled patties cooked medium rare with a little bit of pink inside. So good to see that. Juicy delicious beef patties that you could eat on their own. The rest of the burger worked really well. Very cheese and the bare sauce was pretty tasty. American cheese held the burger together like food glue so reduced the messiness notch.
The wife loved the cockfighter burger, commenting on how fresh the chicken patties were and flavorful the coleslaw was.
The fries were phenomenal. Hot, crispy fried season in this almost cajun spice. Makes a nice change from plain old chicke salt.
A bit pricy, with the two burger meals and croquettes coming to a tick over $60, but for a once in a while treat/date you don't mind it when the quality is as good as Bare Grills. They're an industry leader for their quality, and their food is sensational and worth the prices. Will be back.
I’ve heard a lot of great things about this place so I wanted to come here and try their milkshakes. I ordered the golden gay time one and was shocked by how big the milkshake was. It was $15 which is definitely expensive for a drink but it was literally the size of a meal... it included a whole golden gaytime ice cream as well.
Great little burger shop in La Perouse, serving a huge variety of burgers, sides and more. Service was good, food was delicious and prices were good. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their dishes!
Located in the beautiful area of La Perouse, this venue is famous for their burgers, ribs, loaded fries and more.
It was my first visit and I was impressed. Loved their cheeseburger. Simply delish.
I also had iced coffee and it was strong and aromatic (Marc Harvie Coffee).
Might be back to try their other dishes!
I’d been here once prior for the 5$ specials which was a great deal, but have always wanted to come back and try the raclette burger. Fast forward to 2 year from the last time id been and while this burger place can’t claim the spot of the best burger in Sydney, it is the best raclette burger in Sydney for me
Had a delicious Aussie burger combo deal $24 incl juicy beef patty, ice cold water and crunchy hot chips. The Burger was flavourful. The chips were exceptionally delicious and I think had a bit of sweet and salty. Service great and in good timing. Hubby os a huge burger fan and loved it too.
Such a lovely place, with the best service I have ever experienced! Staff love dogs and were so kind to mine. Ordered the renowned buffalo wings in spicy, and the original burger with sweet potato chips. The buffalo wings came with spicy and sour sauce, quite nice if you love it quite hot 🌶. The burger was so good and juicy, but yes as many people said, messy. So don’t go if you are on a fancy date, won’t be that elegant when chewing this giant cheesy burger ;)
Despite the multitude of burger joints in Sydney, it's depressingly difficult to find a solid tasting burger, with most places caring more about how Instagrammable their food is rather than how good it tastes. But amongst the sea of mediocrity Bare Grill stands above the pretty much all the rest, serving absolutely amazing burgers at perfectly reasonable price points.
If you want a classic American style burger made to near perfection, try the Bare Burger. Whilst it isn't anything new, it's simply a burger in which every component has been cooked perfectly and when put together, makes for an delicious combination. We had our burgers with a side of large fries (which were genuinely very large) and blue cheese dipping sauce, both of which were quite good themselves.
Bare Grill stands deserving as one of the best burger joints in Sydney and apart from the absurd price of adding extra cheese to your burger (I understand charging extra, but $2 for a single slice of cheese is unreasonable), they are absolutely worth the visit.
Very delicious burgers and chips! The fried chicken was seasoned nicely and you definitely need the cheese!!! Good atmosphere and view if you sit on the bar stools
The burgers tasted great but were extremely filling and messy to eat. Buffalo wings were smaller than expected and was served with a tub of Blue cheese sauce which surprisingly went well with the wings (it was not overwhelming blue cheese). Prices were the typical burger prices you get nowadays, ranging in close to $20.
I think Bare grill would benefit from providing wet wipes or somewhere to wash your hands as found in other similar burger joints.
Update (nov 2019): the Aussie outback burger is a must Order
Want a breakfast worth waking up for on the weekend..The Hibernator Platter has 3 tiers of Breakfast!

We got invited to this place by ompty media and it was one of my favourite places.
The bare hibernator was a breakfast tower we got to try and it was filled with the most yummiest of breakfast dishes.
The service was really good and it's super close to the beach so you can make a day out of a trip to this lovely little place.
It's only small so make sure you get in early to avoid not getting a seat.
Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
Service is good and so is location. Didn't have to wait too long since I came early. The staff are friendly and the prices are decent. The burger and chips are good.
Delicious burgers and chips. The grilled chicken and beef patties are juicy and the buns are great. It gets quite busy on weekends so you can expect a wait of up to an hour for your meal at times!

Some of the best burgers in Sydney! The Grizzly Bare is my go to burger with some cheeky sweet potato fries on the side! I have also been to the Surry Hills outlet, which is slightly less casual but has raclette cheese!
Bare Grill does have quite a reputation for their burgers, earning them a 4.9 rating- one of the only 5 Sydney restaurants to score this top rating! And if that doesn’t say enough, it’s accompanied by plenty of reviews, enough to convince you to check them out.
So instead of echoing all the endless reviews of their delicious burgers, I’m here today to rave about their lesser known, but equally as good, breakfast tower.
Bare Grill’s breakfast tower is an incredibly photogenic triple stacked platter of everything yummy and breakfast. And will only set you back $25. Equally as impressive in looks as it is in price!
Went there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The service was a bit slow but acceptable despite there’re not many people at the restaurant that time. However, it’s worth the wait. The burgers were so yummy. Had the chicken and beef burgers. They’re generous with the chicken and beef patties. Can taste then charred on the chicken, it’s moist and juice. Beef was juice and flavourful too. I only wish that there’s more cheese, next time might add extra cheese for the burger. The sauce for the burger was good too, flavourful.

Had the Pleasure of checking out their Latest Creation at La Perouse, called the ‘HIBERNATOR’.
I also have a sneak peak for you guys! There are BURGER & RIB PLATTERS coming soon to BARE GRILL, SURRY HILLS. So keep you eyes peeled folks!
The ‘Hibernator’ breakfast platter (only available on weekends) was full to the rim of a tower of bacon, french toast, bircher, pancakes, smoked salmon, eggs 3 different ways and seasonal fruits! They also change it up with Breakfast burgers, fruit toast, and raspberry coolies on their pancakes. Food was great and I loved the bircher which was sweet but delicious, would definitely come with a group!
And what’s great about this platter is KIDS under 10 EAT FREE! Eva also makes sure to put extra pancakes for the kiddies 😊 What a great breakfast addition down at la perouse! But secretely i cannot wait for those Burger & Rib Platters to make an appearance down at Surry Hills!!
What can you say about Bare Grill? I first had trouble trying to eat here because every time we showed up they would be mysteriously closed. In the last 3 months they've been consistently open and mouth-gasmingly good! Wear your trackies if you're eating here. Belts and buttons just don't cut it when the food tastes this good and the portion-sizes are off the chart!
We've tried a lot of the things on the menu - that's why there's so many pics!
Our go-to starter is the EPIC FRIES. Golden lattices of crispy fluffy potato smothered in cheese, aioli and BBQ sauce, topped with pulled pork and bacon. It's messy, it's heartattack worthy, it's truly EPIC! The Cheeseburger Spring Rolls are what you'd get if you smashed an American into a dodgy aussie-fied asian takeaway! Crispy spring roll pastry wraps the beef and cheese medley that drips down your arm and all over your beard while you keep stuffing more into your mouth. The Mac'n'Cheese Croquettes... what better way is there to serve Mac'n'Cheese than to batter, bread and deep fry them? The cheese burns your mouth if you're too quick to reach in on these but oh hell it's worth it!
The burgers all start with a well portioned, juicy burger patty that then gets artistically decorated with an array of fresh ingredients, loads of cheese, then covered with that BARE SAUCE. This sauce is good, like, real good! The buns are then hot-iron branded with the BARE GRILL logo and served up in a classic diner basket. The steaks are cooked just as you ask; no mess, no fuss, perfect medium rare. This sits on a bed of a huge serving of chips and salad. But seriously - scrap the salad and get another side instead!
This place oozes burger-juice-goodness not only in their food but in their people. They brought a fresh bowl of water for the doggo before we were even able to decide what to order. That's what good service is! I need to come back to try their crazy shakes and to let them Raclette Cheese everything!
Get in early or be prepared to wait in line. Very popular with punters coming from all over Sydney and for good reason too. Their specialty Is burgers and they do not disappoint. Great value for money. Great range of choice and the shakes are amazing! Definitely put this one on the to-go-to list!
Bare Grill is a burger joint in La Perouse famous for its Raclette cheese, a semi hard cows milk cheese that is melted onto their burgers. We have seen this all over instagram and heard great things about their food and their crazy burgers so we couldn’t wait to try out the place. We came here on Sunday night and the place was packed, luckily we had made a booking. We ordered two burgers, a beef burger and a chicken burger. The first burger was the Trip burger with beef patty, bacon, onion rings, hash brown, American cheddar and truffle mayo. We decided to add the Raclette cheese onto this burger and it was the best decision ever. The cheese was so rich and decadent and went perfectly with the juicy burger patty and bacon, with the truffle mayo adding an amazing truffle flavour with every bite. The rich, creamy explosion of flavours is definitely not for the faint hearted!
Been here once and will comeback again if i go to la perouse. Nice comfy place and the burgers are nice but i think the bottom buns a bit soggy. Great service.
Great location. Great food. Great service. It's so popular and packed dieting weekend. After two hour track working, nothing more or better we could ask for.
we came on a rainy day, and probably a bit earlier than dinner time, so the place was almost empty.
had the bare, the order came quickly. everything was delicious, and it was very satisfying.
I always make the same mistake! I go to a burger place hungry af, order way too much and walk out of there waddling like a pregnant hippo.
The line was long, the space crowded and messy. The staff weren't the friendliest bunch, the disorganisation and the confusion amongst the staff showed through. Despite these challenges the burger came out relatively quickly and tasted wonderful. Thanks chef!
The beef was juicy and the sauces were plentiful, I got myself a double beef burger dripping with flavour.
I would come back here again in a heartbeat.
Follow my insta @burgersnbikinis for more food pics!
If you've read my Bare Grill on Bourke review then you might have a solid understanding of just how much of a Bare Grill fan girl I am. Freaking love this place!
This is the OG store in La Pa that started it all, and has a nice outlook over the park. For this visit we ordered The Trip burger - which is a monster packed with truffle mayo, cheese and onion rings. We shared this!
And of course you don't come here without ordering the epic fries. Actually remembering how good they were, I could cry.
A super chill burger joint and afterwards you can enjoy the beautiful surrounds as you walk off the kilos of cheese you just consumed, or you can just head down to the beach and have a lay down as you nurse your food baby!
Our first taste of a Bare Grill Burger at last years Burgerpalooza! The burger was absolutely amazing, so we knew we had to check out their joint in La Perouse!
The Burgers here are amazing! The Original had brioche buns so soft with a beef patty cooked to perfection. The Son of a Cock Fighter is the ultimate burger with the crunchy, juicy fried chicken. The fish burger here is also super delicious!
Definitely don't skip the loaded fries too!
So happy these guys have opened up on Bourke St Surry Hills :)
Wonderful food and extremely affordable prices! Bare Grill is a great addition to a day at the beach. I had the Bare Burger which was incredible. The meat was cooked perfectly and the bare sauce (whatever it is) was just amazing. The burger was also very decently sized and was only $12. My friend and I shared a small chips which were actually quite large, we couldn't finish them but they were also delicious! We did have to wait about 20-25mins but it was worth it for the amazing food!
BARE GRILL does it all. The staff and the amazing Manuel are heroes to the cause and giants in a burger market that is breaking at the seams. They are also humble nice guys and gals and this makes a huge impact in a field of Chef competition and ego. The food, especially those burgers, are impressive and memorable meals you can rely on time and time again. Get thee buns out to the La Perouse or Surry Hills venue for a feast you will enjoy.
Set in the relaxed atmosphere of La Perouse, Bare Grill stands out as possibly the best dining option in the area. I tried their philly cheese steak and my dining partner tried the "big bare". There is a sign on the counter that politely asks you to be patient as the burgers are cooked to order. So patiently, we waited.
The wait was acceptable and before long, I had a soft and fluffy hoagie roll, filled with juicy beef flank strips, just the right amount of melted cheddar cheese and caremelised onions. It was gloriously tasty! Moisture level was just right, nothing soaked through the bun at all. My dining partner was also pleased with the "big bare" burger.
For me, this is definitely one of the best burger joints around for classic burgers.
I remember when I first became actively involved with Eatventures, I saw a photo of a very sexy burger on Insta - fat glistening off its two patties, melted cheese and sauce oozing out from under a branded bun. Like so many before me, I put my entire life on hold for a few seconds to sit and stare at that image from a place in La Perouse that I've never heard of. Then, I double tapped the image, hit play on life and moved on.

The original bare grill at la perouse is a charming cafe that is buzzing with friendly staff and good food. My partner went for the truffle burger and loved it! I know most people can't go past ordering one of the famous burgers at bare grill but I actually went for the chicken kebabs with chips and salad and it was delicious! The serving was also extremely generous. As a side we had the waffle fries covered in pulled pork and sauce - a meal in itself. There is always the option to grab a takeaway burger and one of their complimentary picnic blankets to enjoy your meal in the park.
As you drive down Anzac parade, you start to think where am i going, but then it open up to a beautiful set of shops on the water, with @baregrill being our No.1. These guys were pumping with orders, awesome range of burgers and food for everyone. .
This was the cure with pulled pork. Nice touch with their logo on the buns. Cheese had been melted perfect on the beef, which was the highlight! Amounst the best cooked beef anywhere! Amazingly pink, juicy, flavourful, just 👌 The pulled pork had a great flavour too & was great in the burger and on the epic fries. .
Quite a memorable burger leaving Sydney. Definitely on the eat again list!
Back in Sydney, and one of the highlights in the first week was the Bare Grill. Located in the scenic vicinity of La Perouse, this cafe is one of Sydney's local gems. Let's get to the food.
The place prides itself on its burgers and shakes. Therefore, I decided to try one of their signature burgers - The Bare Cockfighter. Two crisp-coated juicy chicken patties well complemented with bacon strips can never go wrong, and the burger was just sumptuous.
When you visit cafes which offer humongous burgers and shakes, you have to increase your appetite for that moment. That's exactly what I had to do when I saw the Nutella Freakshake that was on offer. Sydney's trademark Tella Ball topping on a delightful chocolate shake was the perfect way to end the meal. Pleasing to the eye, and even better after consumption - that's how food is supposed to be.
As the food at Bare Grill is made to order, the service is a bit slow. However. the freshness of the food makes up for it.

The burger craze has been sweeping Sydney for some time now and there are some awesome burger joints that are taking the "meat between a bun basic burger" to new levels. One of the most notable burger joints is Bare Grill. In a little over 12 months Bare Grill have climbed that ladder to new heights and offering up some great tasting concoctions!
Love burgers by the beachside? 🍔🌊 @baregrill serves up a selection of delicious gourmet burgers for your devouring pleasure. End the day with a walk on the beach and your toes in the sand☀️ @mybondisummer @baregrill
Best fish and chips i've had in my 10 years at Australia!!
Beautiful flavours with the pulled pork and chips!!
Irresistable Souvlakia! Must try!
Customer service is also spot on! Great place to go for a lovely lunch with family and friends.

Without really meaning to, I was pretty much ignoring Sydney’s burger phase, much like I did with the freak-shake phase that passed before it. Burgers have also been well covered by community groups like The Fatties Burger Appreciation Society (FBAS), where nearly 70,000 people madly award bones, pickles and spuds to burgers across this country (and beyond). So I’m blaming Ompty for taking me to lunch at Bare Grill and making me eat burgers, because hot-damn those burgers were delicious! With FBAS dominating the burger market, their namesake burger, The Fatties ($14), seemed like a good place to begin. With double beef patties, American cheddar, bacon and Bare sauce barely contained between two toasted, grill-stamped Brasserie Bread milk buns, it’s seriously the best burger I’ve put in my mouth in this country. (Yep, I’m still utterly faithful to Chef Daniel Boulud’s burger boasting a foie gras and short rib stuffed patty at db Brasserie in Las Vegas, but man, that shit was expensive.) Bare sauce, by the way, is...

One of the best places in Sydney to grab great burgers! The first thought that you will get when you order their ridiculously sized burgers is, “Jesus. How am I gna fit this cheesy meaty goodness into my mouth?!”
Don’t forget to order the chicken wings as well!
Perfect feed after getting some sun and surf at the beach ✌@foodiesguidetosydney
Wow oh wow how i enjoyed my meal here. Probably the biggest burger i have ever eaten full of flavor, juicy tender meat and every bite was like a bite of heaven. I could live off this burger, and would definitely go back to try some of the other options. Location is great right near the water and the staff were very friendly
So delicious!! First time here and since it is a bit of a drive for my partner and I, we over ordered so we could try a range. We had the bare cockfighter, the big bare, epic fries and golden gaytime freak shake. We were satisfied at the halfway point but it was so good we couldn't stop eating and basically only had 2 fries left. Fries were crispy and pulled pork, bacon, cheese and sauce on top makes it a meal in itself instead of a side. Beef patties had nice flavour. Nice pepperiness to it. A lot of cheese but not greasy. Enjoyed that bacon was on crispy side. Chicken was delicious too. Juicy and worked with the other ingredients. Freakshake was good. Liked that it came with actual gaytime in it.
I have heard about this place for long long time, mainly for its burger. So when I got invited by its PR company for a menu tasting, I was so surprised to see it actually have rib on its menu.
The rib was absolutely delicious. Talked to the owner, the rib was slow smoked 6-8 hours and then coated with the special sauce. It probably can rank the top 3 rib. I strongly recommend you to try it here. And it is huge and you can share with others.
Burger was indeed something that this place famous for. Tried "the trip" and the "double beef", the beef patties was so juicy and tender, absolutely amazing and great burger bun as well.
One more things I strongly recommend you to try, is the chips with pull pork. Now in the middle of the night I miss it...
Everyone i know has been making such a fuss about bare grill's burgers, and now after tonight i can understand why.
This joint can definitely hold its own against some of the big boys of Sydney's burger scene.
We came here with a starving company of four and left stuffed to our limits. We may or may not have over-ordered but hey, you can never have too much of a good thing.
For tonight, we opted for 2 of the bare originals and 2 of the cure burgers (i had the cure because why not the bigger burger). We also ordered epic fries, the spicy chicken wings with blue cheese sauce and a nutella freakshake. The burgers were amazing in every way. We were stoked at just how big they were and how amazing they tasted. The meat patties could not have been jucier or seasoned better and the burger could not have been saucier, cheesier or sloppier (just how we like it) The branded buns were also a great addition, i particularly loved that idea as i feel they added a nice touch to the burger. The epic fries were just as good as the burger. The combination of sauces and toppings (especially the pulled pork) made for an amazing creation. I really loved them and probably enjoyed them much more than i should have. The nutella freakshake continued on with the super high standard and quality this place had to offer. It definitely had a wow factor and stunned us when arriving at the table and it certainly does not hold back on nutella. Not only was the shake thick and creamy. It tasted as if you were eating a spoonfull of nutella straight out of the jar. Topped with a nutella donut you certainly cannot go wrong with this if youre having a serious chocolate craving. The only downside were the spicy chicken wings. We were so ready to give this place a 5 star review till the wings. They looked amazing when they came to our table and we couldn't wait to dig in. Sadly they did not taste anywhere as good as they looked. I dont know how to describe the flavour but it most definitely wasnt to my liking. Aside from the taste the wings were very well cooked. With improvement on taste this could be another amazing and delicious menu item.
Even so, bare grill definitely gave us the wow factor and we definitely could not get enough of their delicious burgers. We left with our minds already made up to come back again and again until we've had every burger on their menu and i can assure you we're already very excited for our next visit despite our full and bulging bellies!
Bare Grill is famous for their burgers, particularly popular with the "fatties burger" appreciation society on facebook. However there's more to this little eatery then meets the eye. I check it out on a sleepy Sunday. Yes, that's a gay time freak shake below and I suggest you watch out for the
Late post: came here around April on a weekday afternoon. I had been meaning to try out this place due to everyone raving on about it through Fatties. Ordered the Bare Grill burger & the epic fries. The burger had great flavours and was juicy however I personally prefer buns that are more lighter & fluffier, it felt like there was too much bun. The epic fries was good but probably would've preferred them to be made with fries and not waffle shaped fries. I have seen other pics of burgers where the bun looks more better & the epic fries with chips so looks like things have improved since I went.
Great burgers! 👍 I got exactly what I excepted. Highly recommend for all burgers-lovers 🍔 I've had Wild West Burger and It was delicious. With pulled pork and coleslaw - just yummy! 😛
These are one of those places which you have to make an effort to go to. It's about a 40min bus ride from the CBD, but I had some time to spare that day so decided to make my way down to this side of Sydney. Going into the cafe/burger place, it was really nice and airy, with some sea views if you sat on the the bench. There was a sign saying they cook everything to order, so it did take around 15mins to get my burger, even though it as 2pm, so a bit after lunch time.
The fish burger is amazing - it's made with a fried egg and a hash brown! But I didn't like the cheeseburger as much. I loved the cheesy waffle fries, though.
Great job for Bare Grill !! I had my brunch for 2 times , and its absolutely amazing burger ever i had , even consistency is still keep going well even the kitchen was on fire . Obviously , you are on my checklist for a burger joint place .
The day we went, it was cold, wet and windy, and it was late afternoon, hardly conducive conditions for a visit to a beachside burger joint. So we were somewhat surprised to find the place full of diners, with kitchen staff in overdrive to service the takeaway queue. We were lucky to find ourselves seated after a short wait.
Not sure if we fit the profile of their typical clientele with burgers called The Cure, The Hangover and The Wild West, but you can't argue with the quality of their burgers.
Bare Grill is consistently ranked as one of the top burger joints in Sydney, and deservedly so. I ordered the Aussie Outback and it was worth the 20 minute wait - a perfectly cooked, flavoursome beef patty is served with cheddar, beetroot, caramelised onion, tomato and lettuce on a lightly toasted brioche bun with the signature Bare Grill branding. All that was missing was the pineapple, but that's me.
It's great to see a family run business doing so well. Great burgers, friendly service and set within the scenic environs of Le Perouse.
Second burger from the great team Bare grill while i was having lunch with Ompty was a custom burger from the chef. I overheard him calling it. Miss Piggys Dirty Threesome.
Bare bun, Beef, cheddar, chipizo (fried chorizo chips), crispy AF bacon, pulled pork, bare sauce and Carolina sticky BBQ sauce 🍔
I dunno about getting some pork on my fork, but this burger made me want to get some pork in my face! So I did! It was gone in minutes 😅 might Make a menu somewhere sometime soon hopefully 👏👏👏
Bianca: La Perouse is one of those odd suburbs, past the riff raff of Botany Bay Port and shipping containers opens up into the vast headland that is La Perouse, with gorgeous views out to Botany Bay and across to Bare Island. One of the largest scuba diving locations in New South Wales. I struggle to breathe on land, I’m not going to throw water and an oxygen tank into the mix. Besides there are burgers to eat….
Had a good time here on Saturday. Wasn't too many people around lunchtime, probably due to the terrible weather. We ordered two burgers with the Epic Fries.
I got the Son of a Cockfighter: fried chicken with cheese, bacon, guacamole, coleslaw, lettuce and bare sauce. Chicken was moist and seasoned well. Bacon could've been crispier but it was still good. Bf got The Fatties burger: double beef patty with cheese, bacon and bare sauce. Meat needed more seasoning, but overall it was very tasty.
Plenty of sauce on both burgers, making the whole experience a little messy but there's a bathroom to wash your hands. Love the branded buns which adds to the great presentation of the food.
Unfortunately we weren't a huge fan of the Epic Fries. Waffle fries were great but even for us big eaters the sauce and pulled pork was too much for us in the end.
Staff were friendly and prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. Wait for food wasn't long. I'd definitely return if I'm after a good burger fix.
Bare Grill in La Perouse is famous not only for their burgers but their branded milk buns. This was my second time coming here, the first was a few months ago to try the Fatties Burger which in all honestly was a bit underwhelming, but you really need to go to a place twice to see if it's as good as people say it is. Back then the meat was under-seasoned and overcooked with limited texture as it was just bland meat, cheese, and sauce. This time around I went with the Big Bare.
Double beef patty, American cheddar, bacon, caramelized onion, iceberg lettuce, bare sauce
I'm so glad I gave this place another chance, as this burger was just great. Big juicy patties cooked just medium rare with good seasoning and fat/meat ratio. Don't know if they changed up their blend but I liked it this time around. The milk bun was good but didn't hold up to all the contents in the end but that's OK as this is a pretty big burger. The toppings were pretty good especially the bare sauce, They could improve their lettuce and I'd skip the bacon next time as it's just a bit salty. All in all, great burger.
Grab a bite at Bare Grill for some big burgers.

The Burger Hand
Go for a cruise to La Perouse... and check out Bare Grill. It was worth the 1h 10min drive to get there. Where do I start? This was a random pick for us and I will definitely be back. The two of us arrived at 6pm for an early dinner but I would recommend making a booking if you're a party of 4 or more. The menu is extensive and detailed. We ordered the Spicy Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Sauce, small fries and two Original Burgers.
As the buffalo wings were placed in front of me, the smell of the sauce wafted up my nostrils and I was instantly transported back to a New Orleans pub where I had the best buffalo wings in my entire life. Bare Grill's recipe comes very close. I have spent the last 2 years looking for mind-blowing buffalo wings in Sydney and I have found them. However, the blue cheese sauce may need modifying. I personally prefer a thick consistency with a stronger taste.
Now the burgers. They. Tasted. Amazing.
My biggest pet peeve with a burger is a dry patty. This was not the case with The Original. The patty was juicy, the cheese oozed out, the caramelised onions wanted to escape and the bun was adorably soft. I have never looked at a burger so lovingly in my life!
The (not so) small serving of fries were crispy (just how I like it) and were seasoned with a salt that tasted like chicken salt and cheddar cheese. If it was socially acceptable to lick the basket it came with, I would have done so.
I saw a toddler walk out Bare Grill with a milkshake and I decided I wanted one too. The chocolate milkshale was average. I'm more of a thickshake kind of girl.
Last but not least, the customer service. The ladies knew their regulars by name and were very friendly to new faces, i.e. us. The hospitality showed by the wait staff and cooks (yep, they came out to say hi too) were the cherry on top.
Overall, highly recommended and will be back!
Bare grill; I assume named after Bare Island off La Perouse, where this burger joint is located.
Definately rated when it comes to burgers. With friendly staff and quality burgers all round. You are sure to find a burger that suits your taste and appetite. From a cheese burger to a behemoth called death by burger with 10 beef patties and everything in between. If it is a nice day borrow a picnic blanket from the restaurant stroll across the road and enjoy the burger in the sun or eat the burger while you stroll down toward the beach. If you like burgers head to bare grill.
BEST BEST BEST burger I have ever had!!! Juice and succulent patties with generous amount of american cheese! Will definitely be back for more!
Amazing burgers!! Perfectly cooked juicy patties. Melted cheese. Tasty sauce. One of the top burger joints I've been to.
The place is quite small so seating area is limited so best not to go with too many ppl. We went with 6 and had to wait until the double table was ready for us. Worth the wait though.
This place is a must for burger fans. American style burgers at its best.
I think it's worth making the trek down to this side of Sydney, easily accessible via public transport. The Outback burger had generous amounts of sauce and perfectly melted cheese which wells leaking out of the burger. Meat cooked medium/pink inside. Bun was soft and not too sweet either. Loved the veggies to balance out all the savoury bacon. The sauce was kind of mayo and slight mustard, defs worth trying.
Yummy! After a missed opp on Thursday nights (cause they close early) we got our chance to grab these delicious burgers last Sunday! amazing! yummy and full of flavour if you are looking for an epic burger to cure a craving this has to be at the top of your list. Down side for me was I couldn't finish it! lots of food so best be hungry.

This is a lovely part of Sydney for a day out, and this unassuming café is in a great spot opposite the grassy reserve right on the point at La Perouse. There are a few other eateries here too and as we arrived we noticed how quiet the area is. There was hardly a soul around. That was around midday but during the next half hour there were people coming out of nowhere to eat here at Bare Grill. This surprisingly busy place was obviously well known by locals and that’s a good sign. For at least the next two hours they were turning over tables and takeaway at a great rate.We started with a nice strong flat white as we made our menu choices. There are salads, fries and starters followed by a huge choice of burger combinations, steaks, ribs and seafood. All very tempting but we just had to try the “Epic Fries”- waffle fries with pulled pork, cheese, spiced aioli, Carolina sticky BBQ sauce, bacon and shallots. What an indulgence! It looked wicked, tasted amazing and was a meal in it’s own right.
When you crave a burger, you will make the trip to get one. This time we drove over 30km just to sample what the fuss is about at Bare Grill.
"One Big Bare Burger please."
What arrived was a monster burger - double grilled grass fed beef, cheese, bacon, sauteed onions, lettuce and smothered in their house sauce.
I manage to grab a chip that touched that glorious house sauce, my eyes lit up with delight at the aspect of the burger being smothered in it. Another highlight is their trade mark Bare Grill imprint on the bun.
My suggestion is to probably go for the single pattie option. It eventually became too meaty and the balance of meat to burger became overpowering. The sauce also went from delicious to becoming too salty as well due to the imbalance and overall just messy.
I also got tempted and grabbed one of their Nutella Balls. I don't know what I was expecting but it was a bit doughy for me. It also got served at room temperature which wasn't as appealing.
Plus I wish the Nutella Ball got served after my burger as opposed to at the beginning of the meal before my burger was ready.
There's some pros and cons about having those large windows. Pros are the million dollars views of the water. The cons are the frustration of eating in the heat while swatting the flies off my food.
A definite highlight was watching this guy attempt his second massive burger challenge for the day. I know, two challenges in the same... give that man a freaken trophy! That burger had enough calories for the week and even more with the serving of chips.
To enjoy the burger all you need to do is head out to La Perouse, where you will need to fight for a parking spot... but your reward will be a great burger, cool sea breezes and views to chillax your afternoon away.
The brother’s burger arrived and no swapping was needed, he was happy with the outback burger. Though they did run out of chips but was told they would be back with some more for us. It was actually a very thoughtful touch to have the burger served fresh than to have it sit in the kitchen waiting for the chips. The brother was impressed with this attention to detail.
We had to share the Extreme Mammoth burger but it was worth the experience. We had 4 people trying to devour the burger so $35 for the dish wasn't too bad of a price if you divide the cost. The burger looked amazing but tasted average. We came for the experience so we weren't let down. We also grabbed the Epic Fries. That would be something we would go back for.
The boys and I from work come here weekly. Can't get enough of the milk buns. Never, ever had burgers like these.
Perfect meat, best secret sauce in Syd, chips are crunchy and golden. If you like eating with a view, this is the spot.
The best burger in Sydney with an amazing view ;) loved it! Cheap and tasty! The size is generous and it fills up! NB they don't sell alcohol
Went for two of my mates birthday. Was about twenty blokes keen for some burgers. They handled us pretty well, were friendly and understanding of the noise we made. I had the fatties which was amazing. Needless to say I was very full afterwards. Would recommend.
Wow, simply wow.
This place doesnt look like much from the outside but my god if you love a good burger dont walk past without trying one of these oversized beauties!
Another one of our favourite burger joint in Sydney! You can get up to 7 patties in your burger for approximately $30 (good luck eating it though). The place is located by the beach so if there is no space to eat in you can always take it away and enjoy the view with a great tasting burger at hand! A must try!
So there's burgers and then there's BURGERS.
The fatties burger I just consumed was one of the best I've had in Sydney. And at only $13 the value is off the charts.
Staff was really friendly and food came out really quick considering.
Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.
My photo does this meal 0 justice. But trust me. I'm a very happy man right now.
I've been here 3 times now and each time I say I'm going to try something different, but I always go back to my chicken burger. It is just so darn good. The chicken itself is juicy and succulent, and the ratio between chicken, salad, sauce and bun is pretty much perfect. The branding on the bun is a cute addition too. Chips were hot and well salted too.
She says: Finding this little gem was all Him and his near obsessive scouring of the internet. Bare and Grill is out of the way for us but we had friends in town (Hi Dan and Dre!) and had an out of town wedding to head to, so thought we would stop in on the way. He says: The sight of these banging hot looking burgers were becoming ubiquitous on the net of late (easily attributed to this place due to the ‘branding’ in the buns). Also hadn’t been to La Perouse and, with some friendly overseas visitors in tow, this served as the first stop en route to a Kiama wedding.
Great burgers, and chips. It was really good prices too. The service was lovely too. However the vegetarian burger was lacking a little in regards to size
I had a really great experience at Bare Grill! I ordered the Fatties Burger. The patties were juicy and perfectly cooked medium rare. The sauce was to die for and took the burger to the next level. My partner ordered the Philly Cheese Steak which was equally as delicious. We left more than satisfied & with only positive things to say. A must try for any burger lover!
Fantastic burger and grill restaurant in La Perouse, came in for dinner ordered grilled fish and chips and my hubby ordered Bare Grill's signature burger. It was busy night, mainly filled by sunset watcher, a spectacle put together by Mother Nature to our delight and fellow diners. The casual setting of the restaurant is welcoming especially for those spur of the moment dinners.
We were impressed with the food. My grilled fish and chips was delicious; fish was cooked beautifully along with crispy chips and well-dressed salads. My hubby was extremely happy with his burgers, enjoying every bite. He mentioned the meat was cooked perfectly medium but still red in the center without being bloody with delicious brioche bun. Their home made sauce was really well balanced which fused perfectly with the melted cheese accentuating the flavor of the meat.
I don't eat meat but it looked so good - I am so coming back to try chicken or fish burger near future!
Highly recommend if you are in the area and craving some scrumptious burger!

Beach-side big burger bar. Great value and quality. Awesome range of burgers and other food. owners are awesome and friendly as. Be warned, the burgers are large. Go in hungry or ask for a takeaway container for left overs.
I am so glad that I do not have to travel as far as north sydney or the greater west for a delicious burger.
I came to Bare grill after my brother raved about their Mammoth sized burger and it being just after Xmas I thought I needed some grease with all the alcohol I had consumed.
What a treat... I needed a hangover cure and there they had "THE CURE" on special.
I'd hate to say after sampling over countless amount of burgers, I am so disappointed in myself that I did not try this place sooner. I had something so delicious right down the road!'The Cure' had everything I needed and I left feeling extremely satisfied, no guilt and no sick/grease feeling. 10/10 I've been recommending all my friends to come here.
Amazing range of burgers. I had the cowboy burger which was tasty and filling.
Found the person who served us to be oddly stand-offish though which detracted from the place and this rating.
Might have just been having a bad day though - the burgers are good enough to go back again and give them the benefit of the doubt.
Best burgers in Sydney, we were really impressed. Burgers start from $8 which is just unheard & not only that, they are so delicious. We got the basic cheeseburger & the fatties burger. The meat pattie is so juicy, best around Sydney!
Having spied their marvellous creations on Instagram, for our first adventure with Ompty.com we headed down to Bare Grill to sample some of the crazy burgers on offer! Bare Grill’s menu is quite expansive, with lots of burger options and special burgers! This includes the aptly named ‘The Hangover’, ‘The Cure’ and ‘The Fatties burger’, created in honour of the Fatties Burger Appreciation Society on Facebook – check it out here! All of Bare Grill’s burger buns are stamped with their logo, which is their unique touch, and makes for a great photo as well.
Came with the bf after snorkeling in La Perouse, it was safe to say we were both starving. Was highly anticipating bare grill after seeing their fatties burger on Facebook. We ordered the fatties special burger (2x beef patties, house sauce, pickles cheese and bacon) and the fatties cure, but two fatties burgers came out instead. We didn't mind too much. The burger itself was completely overwhelmingly heart clogging. The house sauce and cheese was amazing, but there was no balance as the two little struggling slices of pickle could barely be tasted drowned in the sea of sauce and cheese, and could not be expected to cut through with its tartness. What we ended up with was a burger bottom that quickly fell apart and a mess of goo. Patties were slightly over medium but not dry. We left feeling like we'd bitten off more than we can chew. Ordering the summer hangover cure burger next time with fish for something lighter.
I had such a great time at Bare Grill! After winning a competition through Ompty I was thrilled to head out here and tick it off my burger hit list. The branded buns are such a wonderful idea and really enhances the overall experience. I ordered the chicken burger while my partner went for the FBAS burger - I was so happy with my burger and my partner was completely stoked with his! The cheese, the sauce, the chips, everything was wonderful.
I seriously just can't get over how much I just love the branded buns - great to see a burger place stepping it up for presentation and a sure fire social media hit. Service was fantastic, they were accommodating, friendly and up for a chat.

The burgers here are great, juicy and yummy! I tried the outback burger and the summer hangover burger and they were great! I have to say that the summer hangover was my favourite.. Like a fillet o fish but even better!! Nom nom!
What do you do when your planned burger date is cancelled due to a restaurant suddenly being closed?. Do you give in? Stay home?. No. No you get yourself out there and you find yourself a new burger!. My husband and I were supposed to drive up to Danno’s Cafe but as they were closed, we decided instead to drive down to the historical La Perouse and check out Bare Grill and Cafe. We hadn’t actually been down that way before and it was a pleasant surprise to find such a cool little touristy spot – perfect for our lunch date.
So I was browsing the Fatties Burger Appreciation Society facebook page, as you do, when I see an announcement: Bare Grill Cafe were offering their new Outback Burger with chips through Ompty for the first 50 people who booked in. Who can pass up on that kind of offer?. Lots of new burger options since my last visit!
From a self-professed burger connoisseur, this is one of the most underrated burger establishments in Sydney. Bare literally has it all - friendly service, serenity, and the edible goods to back it up.
The staff genuinely go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your burg-experience, and they even offered us picnic blankets so we could sit by the water.
As for the burger itself (fatties special), every element was sheer perfection. Both patties were succulent, juicy and complemented perfectly by the American cheese and sauce. The pickles topped the burger off perfectly whilst adding a nice tang to the immaculate, crisp milk bun.
The chips were also nice and crisp, however it would've been a nice touch to have some dipping sauce or a more exotic seasoning than the classic chicken salt.
In summary, Bare Grill is a must-visit if you're a burger lover and find yourself gallivanting around the east.
Love this place!!. I know this area quite well since I like to swim at La Perouse in the summer time. Because of that, I really don't eat in the area...just a swim and then home time. But, I'm so glad my work mates and I headed out last week for lunch. It's a beautiful setting, at only around 1000 steps to the beach.
The staff were lovely and welcoming. And the food was amazing! I ordered the club sandwich, and it was soo yummy. All the ingredients were just right. But, my fav part was the chips!! So crispy and great taste. Oh yes....can't forget the coffee and dessert....I had the almond biscuit, but wanted everyone else's as well. Everything tasted so good and looked good. Good thing I didn't try everything on the menu. Maybe next time ;)
Bare grill at La perouse. They have the best tasty burgers at Bare Grills excellent service great staff excellent value for your money will be back very soon.
The food here is Amazing, Great Dine in or Take away place in a great location and views. Came with some foodies and tried most of there menu along with there giant challenge. OMG SO AWESOME! Great hospitality and service! Highly recommended. We will be returning!
I am quite the burger enthusiast and boy was I impressed! I got a double beef burger meal and was in awe at the size of the serving. The burger was incredibly tasty as well as large, and the beef was so soft! Fries were also some of the best I’ve had.
Recommending this place to all of my friends and we live 1hr away. Worth the travel.
Awesome burger 👌 great tasting fries and delicious sweet potato wedges with good service
Great takeaway shop located in La Perouse! Burgers are super tasty and juicy, and delivery was under half an hour! Highly recommend.
Juicy, wholesome burgers and well-cooked, well-seasoned chips. Ordered the Australian burger with bacon and egg (still soft in the centre) which made for an amazing meal. Usually not a fan of getting my hands messy but this burger was well worth the mess!
Tasty burgers! Good location too, near the beach and the bus station
Big juicy burger - is all I have to say. Also! There has to be something with the regular fries. They are incredibly addictive and tasty. I highly recommended.
I have tried the waffle fries, not a fan. I prefer the sweet potato fries.
As a bit of a burger buff, I can say this is in my top 5 burgers of all time. Nothing too fancy, and they can get a bit messy, but damn, this is a tasty tasty burger. And luckily they're switched to thick cut chips too, which just completes the meal
